  1. A few more... -Don't drink the Vodka in the casino (Grande) -Don't eat Pizza for at least a month before you go (You will eat several months worth of Pizza as the the only decent place to eat in Kolomna is Viva Pizza!) -Take some strong bug spray for the evenings -Don't let kittens sleep in your tent... they have fleas!! Don't sweat the petty things... and don't pet the sweaty things!
  2. Hey, remember i'm from the UK... jumping shorts was an almost new experience for me!
  3. Never been to Empuria but just got back from three weeks at Kolomna and had a great time. Weather has been a bit iffy at times but when it's good it's a great DZ. Weekend before last I think there was about 60 loads on Saturday Nigtlife at the DZ depends on who's there on any given night. It's very differnt to the UK - where every night involves some sort of drinking! There are a couple of clubs in the town itself but (unless you speak Russian) you need to be with a crowd to have a really good time! Or drink extra Vodka Don't sweat the petty things... and don't pet the sweaty things!
  4. Czech boogie is August 14-20th - looks like it will be fun Slovakia 12-19th September... cool planes / balloons etc I'll let you know what Russia is like... I hope to be there Tuesday
  5. Ok I'm in Russia... Planning to go to Kolomna on Tuesday... any tips on how to get there from Moscow?? Anyone else already here and want to share ride to DZ?? ... this place is confusing!! Don't sweat the petty things... and don't pet the sweaty things!
  6. Agree with you... to say it was an 'awesome' weekend wouldn't even go part way way to describing this boogie!!!... the views....
  7. I used http://www.intelservice.ru/ and they emailed me my invitation as a .pdf file within 48 hours and seemed one of the cheaper options. I have used it to get my visa with no problems. I'll find out on Thursday how easy it is to register the visa once I arrive. As I understand it you need to register within 72 hours of arrival - easy if you are statying in a hotel... (not so easy if you are staying somewhere 'unofficial') Don't sweat the petty things... and don't pet the sweaty things!
  8. I had problems getting cover for my trip but in the end found that http://www.columbusdirect.com/ were by far the best for multi-country skidiving cover and had no limit on the amount of jumping (several other copmpanies would only cover if skydiving was
  9. I wish!!! After 10 years in the same place and 4 years in the same job I decided I need a break!! I just sold my house and furniture, bought a new rig and here I am!! Having the best time ever and not regreting it for a moment!! Don't sweat the petty things... and don't pet the sweaty things!
  10. I'm going to be there Don't sweat the petty things... and don't pet the sweaty things!
  11. The elevation at the Nairobi DZ is something like 5000ft so they don't get much altitude and landings can be a bit swift! I think they use mostly a cessna - and I'm not sure how much jumping they do when there is no boogie on. The guy to contact about jumping there is Harro - he also orgnises the boogie in the autumn. He's a great guy & it's a great boogie!! Haven't decided what dates to go jumping yet . Anyone wanna meet up for transport to DZ / vodka / jumping let me know! Hope to see you there! Sally
  13. Hi Just wondering if anyone from Anchorage is going to the Wasilla boogie and would have room for another passenger?? Cheers guys
  14. Just wanted to say a *huge* thanks to everyone I met at Kamloops Boogie for making it such a great weekend Great people, stunning location, plenty of beer and even some sunshine!! Special thanks to Dave for giving me a ride up there and to Mickey in Victoria for showing around Victoria when I got back. Thanks - you guys are stars! I'm heading back to Seattle/US now but had such a great time in Canada I might make it back for next year! Thanks again !!
  15. I'll be there... apparently if you drink enough beer the mosquitos leave you alone... I'm practicing hard!!
  16. Is there a max number of addresses I can add to my address book? I don't seem to ba able to add any more (the button at the bottom of the add address page doesn't seem to do anything!) Or am I just being blonde?? :-) Don't sweat the petty things... and don't pet the sweaty things!
  17. Just wanted to thanks to the guys at Snohomish for a great weekend :-) What a cool bunch of people. I didn't know anyone there before I went this weekend but everyone was super friendly and I didn't feel like a pain-in-the-butt newbie once! Thanks to Kev for the lift out to the DZ, to Debs & Dave for putting me up for the night, Kelly for a great party, Jeanne for my barbie initiaition jump and everyone else there for being so cool! Don't sweat the petty things... and don't pet the sweaty things!
  18. What a great DZ!! I just got back from a weekend there and had a great time. I'm from the UK and didn't know anyone there (except from dropzone.com) but everyone was really friendly and made me feel really welcome. I didn't get to jump the caravan as it stayed cloudy for most of the time but did a couple of cessna lifts. Thankls guys! :-)
  19. If you want to save on the cab fare... you can also get to Hinton by going from Oxford or Banbury to Kings Sutton (tiny local station) which is about 2 or 3 miles from the DZ... I used to come from Cardiff by train before I had a car, it's walkable (just!) but if you call them I'm sure there will be someone who can come and collect you... Don't sweat the petty things... and don't pet the sweaty things!
  20. Not yet but I'm going to Kolomna in July so I'll let you know what it's like - I looked into a few DZ near Mosocow and picked that one as it had the most helpful website (I can't speak/read Russian!) And they have helicopters - that's going to be something of a novelty! Don't sweat the petty things... and don't pet the sweaty things!
  21. I'll second that! Been the last 2 years and it's great. See you there! Don't sweat the petty things... and don't pet the sweaty things!
  22. $65 at Eloy, AZ in Jan this year Worth every penny!!!
  23. I would find it really useful if I could either look at things added to the calendar since a specific date or at things that are new since I last checked. There is so much on there that it can take a while to scroll through it all when I all I want to see is what's new. Don't sweat the petty things... and don't pet the sweaty things!
  24. Hmm... so far that's a DZ.com 4-way... (but that's smaller than the minimum group size allowed from the Herc) Think the record is safe for a while!! Don't sweat the petty things... and don't pet the sweaty things!
  25. I'll be there - count me in! Don't sweat the petty things... and don't pet the sweaty things!
