I will be in the SoCal area next week and was hoping to get a balloon jump. How often do they take place at perris, how much they cost, is there a jump number restriction, ... and what altitude do you get....?? Thanks everyone, Rob.

To anyone who has birdman pantz, exactly how much of the leg area inflates in use?? Also your thoughts and opinions on them would be nice as im still deciding pantz or not to pantz. Rob.

Have to disagree. Me personally see no reason why i wouldnt/couldnt land my main without brakes. Like dave said, roll it out and brush the dust off your kit. Landing on rear's on anything loaded 2.0+ might be a different story....

If you contact them they will send you a sampler with all the different materials/colour options. The do the alien skin in quite a few colours as far as i can remember. happy choosing.

thats the same thing people said about landing on the moon, to Wright brothers regarding their first aircraft, or about the idea of mobile phones, even "freefall" itself was regarded as impossible 100 years ago. Im not saying it WILL happen, just that you can never be sure what kinda things will be happening in 20 years time. lets just hope noone gets hurt trying.

In the Uk it is generally advised to be a B licience and have FS1 (be capable of a 4 point 4way), and my own opinion is this is a good benchmark for when to start FF. This all depends on where you jump. Have a chat with an instructor to see how things work at Hinton. Usually you are restricted to solo FF jumps until you have your FF1 grade, and just doing solos will take forever to get FF1 so you need a few coach jumps or jumps with more expierenced freeflyers. Solo freefly jumps at your stage are fun but pretty useless if your still getting the grasp of moving around controlled on your belly. My advice would be to enjoy formation stuff for the minute. Not only will this benefit your learning when you try FF but if your still on rented kit its usually not ideal for freeflying. If your unsure wehther the kit you use is ok for FF, ask an instructor (Tim Carter is an FF coach at hinton i think, speak to him) Safe ones.

also just noticed this... on the cross ports of the end cells, instead of being nice and circular like the rest, they are frayed and kinda square as oppposed to round????

nearly always both. ? will the fabric porosity have any effect on this?? its done a fair few jumps so im guessing its losing a bit of its ZP.

why does my stiletto open with end cell closure.? it had 600 jumps and was re-lined 16 jumps ago. ive only had it for the past 12 jumps, so cant say if it did it before the reline. has done it on 9 out of the past 10 jumps, and stays like that until give the back risers a pull. ??? P.S. loaded at 1:3

just got my top mount and chincup for my bonehead. have also got a stroboframe quick release for my sony trv. now, mounting the video with the thumbscrew looks very apppealing, video lies flush with the top mount, looks safer, less height to the helmet. but with the stroboframe (which, as my video is a bottom loader will save alot of messing around) there is a 3/4 " gap betweem my camera and the flat top. this concerns me. Anyone use this kind of set up or have any opinions on it?? im think it may be safer to just use the thumbscrew. thanks.

ive just bought a used canopy and while inspecting it i found a small hole (about 2mm across) on the top skin right near the trailing edge on the centre cell. its the only hole ive found. does this need attention by a rigger??
