Why would you say that? Whether you agree with them or not, there is a large group of people in the USA who would like to see the Second Ammendment repealed, or who believe that the deliberate destruction of one of our national symbols should be forbidden. Actually, I think the opposite is true... Do you honestly believe you can understand God on his own terms? Any more than an amoeba can understand you? What always strikes me about interpretation of God is the fundamental truth that that interpretation is based on our own human perspective (in addition to admittedly revisionist texts; whether they be the Bible, Talmud, Koran, etc.), and not a true understanding of the nature of God beyond what He has seen fit to bestow upon our decidedly limited (by definition from the perspective of the Almighty) minds. I agree that no punishment is too harsh for the mastermind behind such a horrific slaughter of innocents. But I have to ask: What would be the point of televising/watching it? Catharsis? An example for would-be followers? What could you hope to get from either? Sure, he deserves to die (if you believe in capital punishment), but what does society get (constructively) from getting to watch? Or is it like slowing down to see a car wreck? I am not definitively stating there would be no benefit; I am just curious as to what people think that benefit would be. Edited to add: "I was composing this post as PJ posted the above"...
