I made the transition from Sabre 1 to Safire 1 this summer, and though I do not fly a camera I can't really imagine a better canopy for it. Super soft, consistent openings. I was troubled with linetwists on my first jumps, but it got better once i relaxed in the harness. As for the flare, there is still plenty of it, but the sweet spot is smaller then on the sabre. Once you've dialed it in though it is all good :) Good luck

I'll trade you my 240 for your BlackJack

Tours are nice, but expensive.. However I've seen some of your objects and I wouldnt mind a trip to Belgium sometime.. And Faber, I'll contact you next time in in Denmark.. Ferry rides there are next to nothing anyway (They pretty much give away the tickets and hope you'll spend a fortune on the casino and taxfree instead..) Where in Denmark are you located?

I have.. If I could get a few jumps while there Thailand would be pretty sweet.. As for the Malaysian events that would be cool, but not sure I qualify with my limited experience (~40 jumps).. Any locals from Thailand around here? And Sean: UK is close enough to come visit every week of the year.. I tried once, but the winds kept me on the ground for the week.. Will probably make another trip before easter and give it another go..

Well, almost any response Im afraid you will have to gamble on that one :)

I have a desire to travel and experience new things summer/autumn 2006. Since traveling without my rig seems like a waste of both time and money, a few jumps would have to be included. I will also be traveling with a non-jumper (girlfriend). Obviously her interests in antennas and vertical walls are limited, so we would need something besides BASE too.. (Which leaves the potato bridge out.. Or?) So I ask for help from fellow dropzone readers on this matter.. Where would you go? Since I live in Norway objects other than E's would be valued on such a trip.. What is the perfect location for BASE, Scuba, Skydiving, and other activities? Wouldn't mind a few lessons in a tunnel either.. Duration of the trip would be somewhere around 2-3 weeks and of course cheaper is better... I post this in the BASE forum for obvious reasons, first of all because skydiving not all that important, and I wouldn't jump a object without contacting locals first.. (Yea, thats you..) Thankful for any response Helge

Larger is better.. Wingload around 0,7 -0,75 seems to be whats recommended by most manufacturers.. I have a 240 and loading it 0,7. That works great, but my next will probably be a 260.

Old thread, but I came accross this while looking for laser range finders.. Bet this would do the trick Clicky

Flying without a parachute nearby is just wrong... No problems flying with my rig here. Even forgot to remove my huge hook knife on one flight

Anyone with experience in exporting video to flash files playable in any web browser with the flash plugin? Any freeware out there that does this?

By definition a filter filters things out right? So if you have too little light in the first place, what would you filter out to improve video? Doesnt make any sense to me, but I might have missed something.. Only thing that could work is to remove the wide angle lens (steals light) and or replace the original optics. Flooding the subject with infrared light would also work, but a filter is not the way to go..

If a thread discussing base gear ever gets deleted for not beeing made by an american manufactor - that is the same day this forum will loose the rest of its credibility and me as a reader

Hmmm.. If it hasn't been jumped before, I'm in for a hassle getting it approved for jumping.. Then again, if I'm the fist out of one it might be worth it..

Im trying to arrange some jumping from a Sikorsky S-92 Sea Queen (Picture) I Tried searching, but was not able to find anything about it beeing jumped before.. Input? Edited for spelling...

If you get a lineover, it is more likely that it is one of the brakelinkes that is causing it. When the brakelines are routed outside the sliter grommets you can simply toss the corresponding toggle, and the lineover will clear.

The scart cable routing is different on video OUT compared to video IN. My scart to rca connector has a switch, where i can choose the direction of the video stream. I have successfully done what you are trying to do VHS - Scart adaptor - Sony Cable - Sony Camcorder Works like a dream, just be sure to get the correct scart adaptor. Helge

Use a Sony Camcorder as a driver? HELP?
helge replied to Pilotmonkey's topic in Photography and Video
Sorry, I was unclear on this one.. I ment the menu on your camera, NOT in windows.. I dont remember where, and i do not have a camera here to check.. If you cant find it, look in your manual. If you dont have a printed copy, they are avaiable online from sony. -
Use a Sony Camcorder as a driver? HELP?
helge replied to Pilotmonkey's topic in Photography and Video
Yes, you can use your camera as a webcam. I have done so myself with the 101 and see no reason why it should not work with your 110. Its been over a year since i tried, but try following theese steps: 1. Enable USB-streaming in your menu 2. connect the cam with the same cable your're using to access the memory stick 3. Flip the mode selector to "recording mode" 4. Restart the program you intend to use with the webcam It should now appear in the list over available cameras. I sometimes had to turn the camera off and on a few times before it was recognized by the PC, but it was worth the hassle, picture quality is great and far superior to any standard webcam i've seen Hope this helps, Helge -
What upgrades exists to our cessna 182?
helge replied to helge's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I think the IO-520 or 550 is pretty much out of the question because of the high costs, and expensive fuel.. The SMA engine looks to be our best card now.. We still have about 4 years left on our current engine, so hopefully there will be a STC on the 300hp SMA engine before that.. True, but people also used to be happy with flying rounds and do nothing but belly.. When we reach TBO on our current engine, i think it is important to upgrade to keep activity up.. Helge -
What upgrades exists to our cessna 182?
helge replied to helge's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Interesting... Know the price for one of those? And are they FAA approved to go in a 182? Also very interested in info regarding the Walter M601 E-11 engine.. Extremely cheap, very good performance and a long TBO... It would take a long nose to install it in a skylane, but i've heard rumors that it has been done.. Anyone? Helge -
Use a Sony Camcorder as a driver? HELP?
helge replied to Pilotmonkey's topic in Photography and Video
Well, i dont know what camera you bought, but if it is a Sony this is exacty what you use the USB cable for.. Just attach using the usb cable, and set the camera in the correct mode (dont remember which, but the display will read USB-MODE when connected correctly) The camcorder will then show on "My computer" as a removable disk drive Hope this helps Helge
