  2. Yes, I got the same advice from an x-Golden Knight about taking my time. I am in the Navy and we jump the 370 f-111 it is like a damn bus... Anyhow my exit weight is about 200lbs. I have about 130 jumps on the Hornet and about 250 all together. Still learning and still eager to learn more (the right way) Lead Follow Or Get The Hell Out Of The Way!!!...
  3. The reserve is a 170 Tempo and I currently own a Hornet 170 ZP. In the future I will buy a 150 Saber2???? I still have many more jumps on this Hornet. I love it and it has done me well with learning more aggressive canopy manuvers, probably another 200 jumps and I plan on making this change... Lead Follow Or Get The Hell Out Of The Way!!!...
  4. The Odyssey is the most comfortable rig I have ever used. The price is a little high, but the quality is priceless!!! Lead Follow Or Get The Hell Out Of The Way!!!...
  5. Yes, I have that tape but it says nothing about one being larger then the other. Just curious to how the reserve would fly in comparison to the 150 main?? Lead Follow Or Get The Hell Out Of The Way!!!...
  6. I currently have a 170 reserve and a 170 main. When the time comes for me to down size my main to a 150, is it ok for me to have a reserve that is bigger then my main? If not, what can I exspect if I were to have a duel canaopy opening? Any info. would be great... Lead Follow Or Get The Hell Out Of The Way!!!...

  11. I TOO HAVE A HORNET 170 AND WING LOAD IT A LITTLE MORE THEN YOU DO. I ON THE OTHER HAND LOVE MY HORNET AND HAVE ABOUT 100 OR SO JUMPS ON IT. WITH THE SMALL AMOUNT OF JUMPS YOU HAVE ON YOURS, I WOULD WAIT A LITTLE LONGER.
  12. I am looking for one of those so called "space balls". You know the ball like object you can free fly or do rw around. Basically, a aid to practice with. I can not find them anywhere and was hoping you guys could steer me in the right direction?? Any help would be appreciated!!!! Thanks
  13. The MC-4 is a 370 sqr.ft. canopy and the Army flat packs all their rigs. That is their SOP. As for the Golden Knights, they still work under the Army there for they flat pack their rigs too. The Navy with their MC-1 370 sqr. ft. conopy roll packs their rigs.. But the Leap Frogs can pack "PRO" or Flat or Roll, due to the fact that they are jumping non standard gear.
  14. When determining your wing load, do you use your exit weight or just the weight of yourself without your rig?
  15. When faced with a bad spot and you have a long ways to the DZ. Which is the best way to get the most glide from you canopy going to the DZ. (1) Slightly pull on your brakes and glide in. (2) Slightly pull on your rear risers and glide in.???????????????
  16. I own one and absalutley love it. I had a javlin before, sold it and bought the Oddysey. It it by far the most comfortable and sleakest container I have ever jumped. The cut in back is not only very comfortable, it allows for almost no movement of the container while freeflying, which is I think what this container was made with the idea of. I love it and will always love it!
  17. Is there any reason why I should not have my rigger sew in a 3 inch piece of cut away cable on the inner side of my Osyssey riser loops to keep them somewhat open for easier acess?
  18. I am in the Navy, and we go to Germany every now and then. This is where they are made, and I have bought them there for as less as 500 U.S. dollars.
  19. OK, here it is in black and white.... Yes, it is out already, yes, it is taperd on the ends, No, it didn't seem to have any diff. from my Sabre (1)haha opinion given after 15 jumps. No, it isn't eaiser packing then the orig., Yes, it does have less pressure to toggle responce. Hope this clears any questions....
  20. Can someone please tell me the email address for Z1 helmets. Everyone I have asked, has no idea....
  21. Could someone please tell me a web site where I can get a really nice packing mat. para-gear and squar1 don't sell what I am looking for ie. a big one Any suggestions is better then nothing???
  22. I just received my new Odyssey J2. When I looked at the D-bag it has a extra stow in the middle of the bag. In other words, before I had a left and a right stow for my lines ie. my first and second line stows. This bag has one in between those two. What is the proper way to do my first three stows now??
  23. Well it happened,,,, Monday, April 16, at 0740. I am in the military and currently going through MFF ( Military Free Fall) in good old Yuma AZ. There, they jump 370 square foot mains and reserves, due to the weight that we have on us during a real HAHO/HALO. It was my 148th jump, ( I had around this many before I went to the school) and the first of two for the day. When I pulled I could feel that the D bag was leaving my container differently. So when I did get line stretch I had twists, a lot of them even though I pulled stable. When I tried to get the twist out I had only about 1/4 of my main catching air. After one turn, I noticed that not only did I have line twist, but also a line over! At this school, they make all the students pull at 4k, I was at about 2,600 when I proceeded with the cut away. Due to the fact that I was jumping with O2 on that jump the mask made it a little difficult to find that damn pillow. On our rigs the cut away pillow and reserve handle are above the chest strap, so I really had to force my head down to find that little red pillow. Well, I am here today because of the muscle memory and training I received from my AFF instructors in Suffolk, Va. and to a good friend, Shane Hollar a former "Golden Knight". Of course the school teaches the same cut away procedures too. Even though you are suppose to throw away the pillow and rip cord, some how the pillow's cord did not completely come out of it's cable housing. Needless to say it is now a and reminder of that scary moment in my life... I found the Army rigger who packed my reserve and took care of his favorite beverage, and had him sign my log book for that jump. My advice is simple!!! No matter how many jumps you have, you can never practice a cut away too much. I know people with over 7,000 jumps who are always seen in the plain going over them one last time before they exit. Muscle memory, you can't get enough.... Stay Real and Have Fun, Mark
  24. Ok this is what I am looking at doing, is it a good choice or not? Javelin Odyssey J2 C18 (Container) Hornet 170 (Main) Tempo 170 (Reserve) Questions: 1) The J2 is small for a 170. I want the J2 so later on if I want to down size I still can. Am I going to have one hell of a time getting that Hornet in a J2 bag made for lets say a 150. 2) I was planning on getting a Sabre but have been told that the hornet is much like a Sabre but newer technology and easier to pack then the Sabre because it isn't so slippery and packs a little smaller then the Sabre 3) This is my first ZP main, is it going to be too hard for me to pack this sucker in a J2 PLEASE SOMEONE WITH MORE EXSPERANCE THEN ME GIVE ME SOME QUALITY GUIDANCE?????
  25. Can someone please tell me what is ment when I hear, "I just bought me an articulated harness. I myself have just purchased a new Odyssey, and have no idea if it is this "articulated" thing people talk about. Any help???
