Congrats, Terry!!! Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda

You're just jealous that me with my Racer is WAAAAaaaaay cooler than you with a Reflex... and it is all about being cool you know Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
-
I've never packed a Reflex, but I own a Racer, and find it quite a bit easier to do repacks on it than many other containers. I'd rather repack a Racer than a Mirage any day

What made you decide to quit the sport?

I feel your pain there. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda -
My homeowners would cover it. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda

Why? You're kinda cute

Oh, come on, you have to admit that the funnel was hysterical... of course that's easy to say since I wasn't in it

Wow, this is getting to be a 'boost Peregrinerose's ego' thread

You're only scarred because you recognized the packing fairy with clothes on That had nothing to do with me!!! I'm a sweet little innocent thing. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda

Exactly who told you that? The first home we were going to buy supposedly appraised at $190K a year ago. We knew the numbers were inflated for that particular property, the comps didn't match the house, they added a bedroom to the appraisal that didn't exist... the appraiser should lose his license over something as bizarre as that one. So we had an appraisal done... it came back at $165K. Owners still have the house on the market, a year later now, still trying to get $195K. Oh well. Until you have a signed contract and an appraiser goes out to the house, trusting what someone else who's trying to sell the house says isn't probably in your best interests. It looks like the rig of the guy above that one has the same closing looop configuration. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda

I differ... I'm really glad I took a rigging course (Dave Dewolf's). I got a lot of information from a lot of different riggers... Dave has 15+ riggers working for him helping the course, every one of them has a lot of good information and tips, so you benefit from a lot more experience than just Dave's (not that Dave has any lack of experience too!!

No, they don't go into hibernation, just slower when the weather isn't jumpable. They always have a nice full schedule of lectures for Safety day, so be there!!

Off student status now...Should I buy a freefly suit?
peregrinerose replied to regulator's topic in Gear and Rigging
Heh.... I couldn't hold a sit to save my life. Of course I've only tried maybe twice. I have too much left to learn on my belly before I'll feel ready to try conquering another dimention of flying. -

peregrinerose replied to regulator's topic in Gear and Rigging
And that's really all that matters, looking good. Not function, utility, safety, flying goals, just looking good. Yeesh. You should have just said that was what you were going for to begin with. Realistically, whatever you decide to get, have grippers. If you're going to focus on belly for the next crapload of jumps, an RW suit is the way to go. I do almost no 4-way, that's not the only RW discipline out there. There's no reason you can't get an RW suit now and a FF suit later. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda -
So, um, Riggers.... What's in YOUR closet?!??!
peregrinerose replied to Unstable's topic in Gear and Rigging
I've only been a rigger for 2 years, and don't do a lot of repacks... just for a handful of friends plus my husband and I. And even I'm getting quite of collection of miscellanious parts and rigs. I have a royal blue and hot pink Falcon that isn't airworthy (minimum needs a new line set). A 1953 military T10 and main container. A 1943 military chest mount with completely unairworthy twill round canopy (in a very attractive hot pink hue). Some badly frayed risers that probably shouldn't be used so don't know why I keep them. A red/white yin/yang pop top for a Racer. I think that's about it for now, but not bad considering my very recent time as a rigger and very part time status of work. So at 2500 feet you're going to pull the main? Hard numbers like that don't always work. Some areas are hilly and you may be flying over a 1500 ft elevation, so your altimeter reads 2500, but in reality, you are only 1000 ft above solid ground. Just something to consider. Public Toilets and Ass Gaskets -- Do you use them?
peregrinerose replied to ZigZagMarquis's topic in The Bonfire
So, if you hover over a toilet with the crab treadmill method of cover, chances are the crabs are in top physical condition, so the odds of having a pole vaulter or high jumper launching to the privates of a squatter are actually increased. Squatters, therefore, are actually causing an increase in the atheticism of crabs via evolutionary processes. This sounds like a research project for some PhD candidate! Public Toilets and Ass Gaskets -- Do you use them?
peregrinerose replied to ZigZagMarquis's topic in The Bonfire
Have you ever seen those covers that you push the button on and they spin around so you have a fresh seat cover when you sit? A bunch of us decided that they serve no real purpose other than to be a treadmill for the crabs. We just picture those little buggers running like crazy and getting a workout every time the button his hit -

Wow, you're gullible -
That doesn't make any sense. My husband and I are both USPA members, but we get one copy of Parachutist because we want to save a tree and a couple of bucks for the USPA... so now, in order for both of us to legally vote we both have to start getting Parachutist??????????
