  3. You might want to check how long they keep cats. Some shelters are so overloaded that 3 days is all a cat gets and if not claimed, its off to kitty heaven. Check now so that you don't get bad news later. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  4. they're probably still sleeping or hung over Yep, just woke up...very hungover. Noooo... say it ain't so. I can't imagine that you're hung over! LOL "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  5. No hibernation allowed. Go do something!
  6. I tend to hibernate which is probably bad, but I don't really have many close friends to talk to. Not having many close friends probably comes from my tendency to hibernate. Perhaps a vicious circle? I've met one friend through dz.com that I feel close to and I can see being there for me, and that is reassuring. 7. I don't... they do - I have a card, they mark on it everytime. I have moved too much and donated at 3 different blood centers so I have no clue. Been giving on and off for 16 years but religiously since I started working where I am now and they come to US every 8 weeks. Because there is a single organization charged with collecting blood across Canada http://www.bloodservices.ca/ the hope is that strict controls over procedures and quality is easier to maintain. The by product is that donor records are centralized and donations are tracked, hence I know how many donations I've made. 8. In Canada collection of blood is done by one organization country wide and it is strictly on a volunteer basis. http://www.bloodservices.ca/ "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

  11. I just thought I would share my knowledge... I was unaware when sucking on a corona that I would be... Well, nevermind... My life will never be the same, and I will sleep soundly tonight with my new found education from a 55-year old woman. And the rest of us will just bask in your glow... You got knowledge and passed it along, thats a good thing.
  12. Thanks you Shari for taking up the task of educating the masses.... we should call you Professor Shari
  13. Here's an interesting site. Does it look right according to where and what you're paying? http://www.gasbuddy.com/gb_gastemperaturemap.aspx "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  14. Right now we're paying $1.125 per litre in Calgary which when you do all the conversions (litres to US Gal and CDN to USD) works out to be $3.88 USD/US Gal. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  15. I'll soon be 51 and I too am working on my sit... its a big change from being on my belly. My last jump I had a great time. A 20 something pretty young lady offered to coach me! 17. I'm putting my money on the hard opening causing your neck pain. I've had friends that have actually had whiplash from a hard opening. Be nice to yourself. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

  19. The Flying High website http://www.flyinghigh.net/ is no scream in hell but if you get hold of Al MacDonald he has a variety of stuff on hand and good sources flyhigh@agt.net He's been in business a long time and is well known. Flying High is in Alberta and has ads in every issue of Canpara and Skydiving Magazine "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  20. I have a hinged knee brace and I won't skydive without it. I have pretty unstable knee and after 2 surgeries thats just hows its always going to be. I use it when I ski too. Not problem, just make sure that you wear something over it so that there are no snag points, no matter how unlikely it is that your lines will be by yo legs. Murphy rules. As for landing I am nice to myself and don't even think about swooping and I have a Pilot 188 and weigh 184 naked. You figure the wing loading. 21. I didn't get to my First Freefall jump until jump #11, I too screwed up the dummy pulls. All I can offer is breath, relax, don't rush. Rushing was my problem, trying to grab it quick. For me being methodical and not rushing was the key. As with all advice to newbies the standard advice, always talk to your instructors before using any advice from the internet. No matter how old and wise I might be, I don't know you and you don't know me
  22. I'm sorry this happens to you or any woman. I admit openly that I am a boobies man but for me size is not what I like, its the woman carrying the boobies that makes them sexy. Her smile, the light in her eyes, the way she walks, the way she talks, her laugh. her smarts, her joie d'vie. Yes I like boobies, but variety IS the spice of life and so I like boobies of any size, especially on smart women that can keep me on my toes with quick wit. Cheaters

In two major relationships in the past I have been cheated on. In both cases I forgave them, the first time. Then I found out it didn't stop. At this point in my life, I will not forgive anymore. Once is too many times. I will not cheat on my partner. I will not tolerate being cheated on. If you get to the place where you are going to cheat, or find you are being cheated on, one has to ask why are you still in the relationship? In my opinion, the relationship is already over. 24. Do you really think that this is war that can be won such that there will be peace and no terrorism in Iraq? It's the middle east buddy, they've been hating and killing each other for a long time. Not going to change no matter how many Americans get killed there. This is not a solvable problem, unless you're prepared to put a ruthless dictator in charge to run the country with an iron fist and who murders anyone that dares to show signs of violence. OOPS, I almost forgot... there was a guy like that but he got executed a few months back. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

    Calgary, AB

Well then we need to get together and celebrate my friend. How does Friday night sound? Might be do-able, but not sure here's why... An old dz located north of the city is re-opening tomorrow under new ownership after being closed for a couple of years. If the weather looks like there is any chance in hell that I might get a jump, I'll be heading out to the dz. I know that things are in rough shape out there after a lot of neglect so even if I don't jump, I have offered to help clean things up if I'm out there. As such I could be there in the afternoon and into the evening. Roger that! Call me if your time frees up: (281) 650-9500 Cool, I've got that number.
