Meanwhile, he will be gathering up money and information for Al Queda to prepare another attack to kill YOU or someone else just like you. The Muslims were definately invading. The religion was not taking root. They were coming from Northern Africa (Morocco to be exact). The Spaniards were definately not converting as a matter of fact they hated them and still do to this day. The ones who were not sent back to Morocco or to Portugal and were left in Spain lived or even to this day still live in the streets as gypsies. Actaully its unrealistic in this day and age of a liberal media switching facts around with the assistance of attornries to expect a cop to ever shoot to injure. For a cop or anybody with a gun for that matter, shooting to injure is a guarantee that he will have to defend his actions right or wrong in courtroom a lot longer than if he killed the person he shot. I have heard many stories about people who break into homes to steal and then get shot in the leg by the homeowner. Typically they make up stories with the help of attornies about how they went to there thinking somebody was in need of help. Then the person protecting his home not wanting to kill all the sudden gets treated like the criminal. Cops know this game all to well. I am not saying it has never happened but I don't know of any real life stories where a cop fired at someone and didn't kill them. The use of deadly force is a last case senario because in never ends pretty. But once the decision has been made going half way the worst mistake somebody can make. I am not sure where my opinion lies here. In this case probably with the cops. But that is only after learning how to deal with cops through bad experiences. I remember when I was 17. Once I was hanging out with a couple if freinds in my pick-up truck. One was a banana head blond boy who caused all my problems that day and the other was a typical dark haired guy like myself. Anyway the blond guy decided to stand up in the back of my truck and the police didn't like this so I got pulled over. Oh and then there was an arguement that had taken place just a little before in which he got off my truck and chased some guy on foot for a couple of blocks. Anyway when we got pulled over I imediately got two seat belt tickets and one for riding in parts not intended (for what that idiot blond boy did in my truck). Had I stayed quiet this entire fiasco would have caused me about$200. worth of tickets. But I was pissed and for that reason it ended up costing more that $1,000. and a very unpleasant evening. Seat belts back then were still a secondary law and were only used by cops who wanted to screw somebody. I didn't believe I should have to pay for this idiot standing up in the back of my truck after all I couldn't expect him to do that. So I made my feelings vocal and before you knew it since I was under 18 they were able to take me in for no good reason and force my parents to come pick me up. So they did and during that time I got more pissed. I remember telling the cop I felt like I was in Russia and my rights were being trampled. He then decided to handcuff me to the floor and threatened to beat the shit out me (while I was in handcuffs ofcourse). At that point I used every four letter word I could think of directed to him as well as to the entire police station. I thought they are going to injure me but hell if they are going to get me to yield. They key words I remember here and will never forget was his captain telling him Joey (Joseph Scalla was his name) you can't hit him he is only 17. I will always wonder what the hell did that meant? That I would have been dead if I was a few months older? Why? Is it easier for parents to sue a police station? In anycase his captain didn't say you can't handcuff somebody to the floor and then beat the shit of them because they pissed you off. He said, "Don't hit him he is only 17." Anyway after that I learned the basic rule that I have used to this day, "If a cop pulls you over, shut up and do what he tells you too and you will have less problems that way." I got that from your first posts. I also got from the next posts that you were afraid to openly disscuss this issue on an open forum. That made me understand your position, kind of like I don't want to disscuss my 55 because I know people are going to get judgemental about it and get on my nerves. But your comment about getting the facts straight went a little to far. I had a good freind in college from computer classes from Israel in the mid 90's. Hanging out with him I met a lot of other Israelis and I can say with certainty that my negative feelings towards Muslims must be multiplied by no less that 10 times to equade how the average Israeli feels about them. I certainly did not close myself off because of that influence I had muslim freinds too and I just saw all of them like two groups that hated each other without any negative feelings towards me. However as the years have passed and I have learned more, I have come to see that the two groups are not equal in my mind. Muslims typically hate Jews above all else but the U.S. does clearly come in second place. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. I love the way people like yourself have the tendency to throw statements like this around. "to have a debate or a discussion one must have the facts straight and be willing to hear other views." As if its clearly understood that this is simply the case. However, the fact is that the only people posting here who know anywhere nearly as much about this topic as I do were posting seriously not silly icecream and boobies messages. Instead the people posting silly stuff were just doing so because they couldn't tolerate a serious disscussion about something which they knew nothing about. It sounded too scary to them they would rather live in happy liberal fantasy. I on the otherhand was not the least bit affected by the mindless posts. I just scrolled those down. But in any case whether you want to admit it or not I think your smart enough to know that their should be no doubt in your mind that there is obviously a link there, THE MUSLIM FAITH. On the other hand the world trade center attack not only did not take precautions to avoid civiilian causualty, it actually specifically targeted civilians. I honestly wonder wether or not they love their children. Obviously they don't love their daughters or any of their women for that matter. And as for their sons they train them for suicide missions before they have even reached their teens. So I don't think they love them too much either. To add to that about the rigger example, In a Jersey town where I grew up on September 11.2001, on roof tops, groups of Muslims were observed celebrating. Probably the same muslims that owned the electronic stores from which I bought much electronic equipment when I lived there. Many of them I knew by name and thought of as friends. I don't think it went through their mind that a year before I was working 1/2 mile away from the world trade center and that I was in and out of the world trade center weekly. Ok first of all we are in disagreement about what makes the U.S. great. You speak of how the original settlers survived. I speak of what values they created. (capitalism, religious freedom, freedom of speech, you know the bill of rights). Whether you realize this or not it does not exist in the rest of the world not to the same degree. The degree to which it does exist in certain other countries was mainly to them learning how well it worked here. About Israel that is not about wanting a country with a good system. Its not even about wanting a country with good natural resources. Its about a war over the belief that it contains a holyland. (Jerusalem) They all claim it. So that is how its different we (U.S. citizens) would be talking about what we created. They are talking about what is their so-called god given land. And because its about religion (a religion which promotes it) they are much more vicious. As for what is good that can be answered many ways. Even if you asked which country is good it could be answered many ways. But the most selfless (kindest one) I would definately say is the U.S., perhaps too kind. I think religion is good as long as it doesn't get out of control. If I didn't know anything else about my rigger and all I had to go by was that he was a good Christion or Jew then that would be a comfort to me. I am not sure I understand your question, but the truth I find this topic somewhat humorous. It goes back what I posted several posts ago. See Spain discovered America in 1492. I am not sure when the Vikings were here but it was before that. I will admit I do not remember off hand the exact date of the Spanish Armada battle but I do know it was in the 15th or early 16th century. See the world was different. Imperialism was normal. Everybody was doing it. Even slavery went along with this. But as western civilizations evolved so did their belief in the value of human life. As Americans we have created Indian reservations in efforts to make good for a bad we know we once did. Giving back all our land would be ridiculous. It wouldn't be fair anyway because the true value of America is not the soil or the natural resources. Its the ideals that were created by the constitution. It is a system extremely similar to the British system of government. The house of commons the house of represetatives. Still it was an improvement and a very needed one at that. Hey the British stole the U.S. section from the Spanish after the defeat in the battle of the Spanish Armada. A much higher percentage of natives were killed in North America than then South America where the Spanish moved on to. In Equador you still have natives speaking Quechua to this day in the mountains, in Peru the same with the Incas and in Mexico the same with the Aztecs. But wait, in Cuba where they killed all the Ciboney's, (before Communism destroyed the island) was the most successful of the entire region. Also as immigrants in the U.S. Cubans (the ones with Spanish decent ofcourse) have by far the highest income level, compared with any other imigrant group. I will agree that both religions have socialist tendencies and for that matter all religions. However while one religion is and has always been a very serious problem the others were at one point a serious problem. No actually it didn't. But think about it Socialism is no different that the Muslim faith. The Bolshvists wanted to have total control of the population and they couldn't do this with the pre-existing religions around. So the banned them all and made Lennism instead. It kind of sounds to me like what the Muslims do when they make it law for everybody to be Muslim in the countries the control and persecute and sometimes execute people for teaching Christianity or anything other than Muslim beliefs. I guess your thought process is telling you that if we take away their right then they will take away ours. But if you step back for a second you will realize that their goal no matter what we do is and still will be to take away our freedom of religion. I must say you are making accurate statements and I can't take that away from you. However, if you follow your train of thought it will suggest that the fight is over land and not over religion. If that was the case then the palistinians would have a leg to stand on for this arguement. The Muslims were not there first. The Jews were there before there even was a Muslim religion, before there even was a Koran. That religion is based on a "Profet" named Mohamed from the six century and its funny that not long after they spread these ideas all over North Africa and then tried to go into Europe (Spain). Nothing that I said was meant to represent the Catholic opinion on things. Hell the pope didn't even want us to go into Iraq and obviously I am glad we did. I am not Jewish and for that reason I probably could go on living with that solution. But I do believe in right and wrong. I know it was their land first. I know it was their land before the Muslim religion even existed and I think it would be wrong to make them the sacraficial lamb just to appease the Muslims. About Spain and the Aztecs or for that matter all of South America with the exception of Brazil, the Philipines a lot of the West Indies and so on, I am aware that they were imperialists in those times. But so were the British more so actually and so were the French and the Portugese and the Dutch. Hell even the Italians were messing with Etheopia. But those times are long gone. As humanity has matured and Imperialism has been generally accepted and wrong and immoral. Unfortunately though, not all civilizations have matured. The muslims are the perfect example still running around in robes, living like they are in the middle ages and making dogs out their women.
