Please double check youre chest strap!!
KrisFlyZ replied to dustin19d's topic in Safety and Training
Glad you are o.k. I visually check my chest strap. I was giving my instructor(when I was on student) a gear check and did'nt catch an intentionally misrouted chest strap. I learnt that lesson well. -
I spent about 3-4 hours the first time(yes first time for the canopy too) I packed my brand new Sabre 2 190. My thinking was if I can learn to pack this I can pack anything. I can pack it in 13-14 mins now(I like to pack slow). If I can do it anyone can. I am the laziest guy in the world

Congratulations!!

Quote I think people like us have a higher drive because of our thrill seeking instincts.Quote That has nothing to do with it either.

I have no experience jumping any wingsuit and I can tell you that there will be people that disagree

I once heard in a conversation at the DZ that the best trackers get a glide ratio of 0.6 to 1. Is this true ?

What are your feelings for the Coach Program from USPA?
KrisFlyZ replied to namdrib's topic in The Bonfire
I am in the same boat as you. I do know people that can be good belly flying coaches at a 100 jumps. There is talent out there. Kris. -
Can't get through AFF - I can't turn :(
KrisFlyZ replied to rob's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Rob, I had the same problem, I would de-arch and do wierd stuff with my legs. My istructor told me this put a stick on my neck long enough to rest both the arms on it(in the boxman position) and practice the dive flow at home. I purchased a cheap hockey(ice/stating kind) and chopped off the end that you hit the puck with. I used to put a small table in the center of the room and arch and practice my turns. That helped, something about muscle memory. Good luck. Kris. -
This part irks the hell out of me . . . when do you not have enough jumps to be on video? People get videos of their AFF jumps. This guy is a dumbass . . . not that I'm judging. Kelly Even though it is a dumbass statement, he got his way and got to jump with the chick and successfully avoided the "threat". Whatever works I guess........... P.S: To the original poster..Why on earth did you even let this jump happen? See Ed's comment. I missed the 20 jumps bit in the first post(hey I am in Bonfire mode ).

That is my aim for the next four weekends. 10 a weekend day packing myself. That will put me at 200 by the end of this month. Most jumps I have made in a day 9. Most jumps made in a day and packed myself 5, but I started jumping that day at 3:00 pm.

I was watching a show on TV that said that the Oprah show that talked about kinky sex caused an uproar. One letter to the FCC objected to "tossing salad" being explained on the show. "tossing salad" is apparently a sex act. Can anyone enlighten me?

Wow!! I guess you are hooked. You going to jump this weekend??...ha ha Kris.

Post an interesting fact that you know...
KrisFlyZ replied to lifewithoutanet's topic in The Bonfire
Most people cannot lick their own elbow. -
I like my stows a bit more snug thant that. I find a large band doubled works well.... What he said. I use all large and double wrap. Nice and tidey, nice and snug. Changed my outer two rubberbands on the front and all the rubberbands in the back to the large ones and I now double wrap. Thanks for the info JP and GravityGirl. Kris.

Read the articles on the PD website here. Especially this one. You will need acrobat reader.

Are there any rules that govern skydiving on private property? If I have a private airfield (like i'll ever own one ) and want to conduct parachuting operations. Not on a regular basis but I just wake up one day and want to do it. What are the requirements? My guess is that I cannot do that without informing the FAA and getting clearance from the nearest air traffic control tower. Correct?? No I am not planning on doing something like this. It is just a hypothetical question.

Congrats Matt!! What main did you end up buying? Oh wait ...Sabre 2 what? Kris.
