  1. The way hackey's are designed...the space will increase between the hacky handle and the PC with time. It is not like the tape is stitched on both sides like with a plastic tube handle. Kris.
  2. I will be there. would be nice to get a look at the Mach1 and Blade in action. Kris.

I did not BASE jump the S-Fly. Have seen people fly them really well though. Kris.
  4. Figured as much. Macca's suit will fit me but its too much hassle to go Sibson and he's probbaly quite keen on flying his new toy anyways. I am waiting for the delivery of my own new suit looking forward to fly a big suit again . Kris.
  5. What about the U.K? I would like to give it a spin or few. If I can fly it for a couple of weekends, I'll have honest comparision numbers against the Phantom(don't own a v2). Kris.

nearly 300 Wingsuit Skydives...mostly solos on big suits. About 50 each on classic and GTI, 100 on S3, 50 on S-Fly, and nearly 50 on V-1. I fly Phantom now because I don't have a big suit anymore. But most places I jump Kjerag(not smell) and ITW don't need more than the Phantom. Kris.
  7. That's awesome. Are there many jumpers there between now and say 10th April? I hope to spend a week there but cannot afford it if I am the only one there. 3 euro a call is cheap Robi. Kris.
  8. If I can choose the exit point(straight line flight) and not have any canopies in the air(so that I can concentrate on my flight ). Hop-n-Pops from 6.5-7k will be the only solo jumps I do. Kris.
  9. Well we do a few of those here in the early months of the year. Last year it was in the prodigy. This year it is in the Phantom. Personally, I prefer not to(now) do these unless its the Islander. I opened the wings too soon a couple of weekends ago and went into a spin...no big deal....but the jump was a hop and pop. Could have used it to jump the other canopy. Kris.
  10. Hey Scott, Nice pic!! Since you have the suit and the nice GPS gadgets, can you post some performance numbers for the S6 and the Blade? Kris.
  11. No, I meant as in all the wingsuit flyers fall under the low aspect ratio category. There is no need to make any effort to modify the wings. All of us have low aspect ratio because we are humans. Kris.
  12. Did he say at what angle of attack this was happening? That information will be quite useful. Also, you meant the flow was seperating at half the chord length of the armwing, right? This will mean something significant. Also something quite obvious in regards to wrist position to get the best airflow over the wings. Kris.
  13. Some interesting stuff in the article. Especially, how conventional thinking that most wings stall around 20 degrees does not apply. http://www.aerodyn.org/Wings/larw.html
  14. It was done to stop getting a finger thru the tube on my last BASE trip(for the last jump). I have since switched to internal handles. Kris.
  15. Like the one in the picture? Kris. P.S: Asylum makes the best PCs.
  16. Nice pics Matt!! Must have been fun

jt and gabo, Can you explain what your response is to this increased fear?Do you jump less often now, compared to before? Kris.
  18. Seems like the suit must fly or be easy to fly around Zero pitch easily. So the balance must be different than the other PF suits. Maybe Robi or James can say something. Kris.

I had nearly 300 WS jumps including a few Heli and Balloon jumps. Jumped the V-1 on my first three jumps but am jumping the Phantom now. Kris.
  20. Chest strap and wrist are not the most ideal places to mount the GPS. Avoid chest strap. Wrist is better but there are better places to mount a GPS. Look at this page http://www.flybirdman.com/projects/flytrack.html for probably the best place to mount a GPS. I mount mine on the helmet. The recomendation(with the units that you are talking about) seems to be to start just before exit but make sure you have got a good fix on the day you want to log on the ground(so that when you turn it on in the airplane just before exit, it is a warm restart). Kris.
  21. From what Tonto has posted I believe he is talking about time. That is pretty straightforward. m*g = K * V* V for most of the flight. Or velocity is proportional to the squareroot of weight. Can we say without doubt that the shorter lighter people always fly longer than the taller people of equal weight? I don't know about predisposition but I believe that being lean and tall is an advantage. Is it more of an advantage than being short and light? I don't know the answer to that. Anyway flying for glide to me is about getting the best that my physical shape and strength will allow. And changing that to what I think is advantageous as much as I can in the gym. Kris.
  22. I will at the first opportunity. Just so there is no confusion. If this challenge involves flying for time. I know I have already lost. I fancy my chances if it is glide. Kris.
