Hey Jakee, Those are nice fall rates. How much ground do you cover on these jumps? Would you say you are flying(hauling ass across the ground) or floating? Kris.
-
Did he already sell that suit? And this is a resale? I hear the market is good for World record holder suits. Kris

I meant, as in, a BASE jump(at a nice safe location) in the current state of the jumper will still let the jumper know their performance regardless of experience. Obviously, if someone has to learn flocking, either slow or fast, it has to be done by repeating that kind of jump. When I said I assumed that we were speaking in the context of the OPs question of how does he get to 50mph or under? I don't think I am qualified to give advise on how to flock. I can reach a flock exiting anywhere in the order but that is the extent of my skills. Kris
-
I meant 200 out the door just like the OP. I guess that clears it up. Kris.
-
Are you still BASE jumping Kris? Haven't jumped this year, not had the time to skydive or the right gear to justify going back to the mountains. How was your season? Kris
-
You fall rate does not really tell anything about your trajectory. Well alti hop and pops are around 4miles flown back in a straight line from DZ and the ground track for the other ones I can only guess was less than 2 miles from exit to opening standard Wingsuit pattern. Kris
-
45+ when flying back on alti hop and pop loads. Low 40s on float jumps. Actually, I don't think I ever did a full jump that was floating only. The last leg of a float jump was always flying as the focus was to get back to the DZ. Kris

If it is an object as you describe, "really tall object, good weather, easy landing area" why does one have to be an experienced BASE jumper to figure things out? Solos are the best method to figure things out in skydiving, don't you agree?
-
S6 is big enough for low to mid 40s for him. I am just over 6' 1"(186.5cm) and was 200-210 out the door when flying the S3. Low to mid 40s was normal. I'd bet that most people in the 5'10" - 6'2" and around 200lbs got mid 40s in their S3 suits. Kris

Initially yes, then you need to make minor adjustments against a benchmark like a buddy, or several, that you've flown with for many many jumps. These small tweaks of your body and reactions is how you will fine tune the suit. If you primarily do solos and are benchmarking with neptunes or GPS data then there is too great a gap in the trying something-analyzing data- fine tune and retry that it takes much longer to really own the suit. Or, one can get a pretty good idea by jumping at a well known BASE site. In retrospect, I think all the time I spent analyzing gps and neptune data was a waste of time. Kris

The basics are the same for everyone, the person flying the suit has to develop awareness. That is what the solos are for. Kris

Lets vote, Who here thinks Supergirl IS THE SUPER Girl?
KrisFlyZ replied to scottygofast's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Glen is right, Chuck. It was 2004 wffc, coz I was not jumping in 2003.I remember her coz she was at dz.comboogie that year and also at SDC. Being a happy person with a lovely smile helps as well. -

If we are thinking about the same person Chuck, I think she posts here as Superwoman. Kris -
Thought flocking was when everyone played nice and flew at a comfortable pace for the whole group.

You know that is impossible. 7:1 is he maximum allowed

It was obvious from the initial pics(more so from these pics) that inflation vs shape choice on this suit is the correct one for the first time in the V line. No wonder that it is easier to fly. Better inflation makes flying easier. Kris
-
a) Choose correct height. b) Stand on floor c) Use legs to move Post new times . Heavy weight training in the gym helps post better times. Kris
-
Kinda like Usain Bolt managed to win the 100m . Sounds more like you'll do a 3mins every time you solo and can be bothered to max out. Kris

Not since 2005. No fun, not in a big suit anyway. I am sure somewhere Ed's head is exploding. If you want to talk about my issues with suits feel free to PM me. As for your comment Bad example. You are responding to an image of "Kriz and Yuri" you have in your head. Not what was written. And about your head...Don't even want to go there...a pic of Maccas wingsuit and some dildos come to mind. . Kris.

DOn't mean to spoil the party ... 0.5 to 0.75 is nothing special 0.85-0.9 in street clothes are normal for mere mortals. Derek(HooknSwoop) posted some really cool tracking numbers (like 100 secs in an RW suit) at 1.1+, but he is a tracking guru. Tracking suits are a lot of fun though :), Enjoy! Kris

He did not float along in his own words...watch the video.

Tony, not keen on changing his design? HA! Two parts to that sentence, Matt. I did not end up buying because I did not want to pay for another suit before trying out the EG one. To specifically answer about the design issues. I could not convince him to make me exactly what I wanted. He had categorically said no to a few things that I wanted and we finally settled on an Apache suit but with a M1 leg wing. I spoke to him about placing an order but never did. Kris
-
Kris, You must have paid for just about every suit on the market and you found reasons for all of those to not work for you as well.

Wasn't that distance not speed? Same difference . If you don't understand read any of the plethora of posts by Yuri_base. Kris so, if WS jumper use about 1/3 of time less to get to the same point or futrher in the sky what then then the another WS jumper?! Agree! Read whatever post about the magic of flying w the nylon. Whatever Dude. If you want to be petty about it fine. I was just responding to VectorBoy's post in an offhand manner. The reason the race was mentioned was not to piss anyone off. I myself have said the same things that Tony and VectorBoy say today. Regardless, the race proved that most big suits are quite close in performance. How much increase in performance has Yuri K had between S3 and V2 that is purely because of the suit and not the new ultra thin rigs? It was a very small amount. Before the S8, if someone wanted a suit that had a balance for glide, there was only one choice(IMO). They had to come to you for it. Now wingsuit pilots have a choice. That is great!! I paid you for 3 V suits and they didn't really work for me. I might as well spend my money to support other manufacturers that are making an honest effort. Kris
