Didn't you insure them? There are several places one can go to purchase lost/damaged UPS/Fed-Ex/DHL/ Railroad Items. If they bought it from there because a Tag Fell off then they own them. You where responsible for claiming the proper cost when you shipped them and insuring them for that cost. Not trying to be a hard ass but spending nearly 100k a year in shipping I have learned the hard way to make sure the declared value is ALWAYS right and the insurance is appropriate for the replacement value. ....1461 days ago I put the needle down and picked up the phone...... In that time I have lost jobs, found new ones.. Made many friends and sadly lost many of them to this disease.... I have become PART OF instead of A PART FROM society.. I am loved for who I am..not for what I have or can do for someone... I have jumped out of many different planes and HELICOPTERS! 393 TIMES! I have the most beautiful little girl in the world who loves me.... And I am going to have a SON!!!! And through it all I haven't had to get Loaded... Just for Today I never have to use again... You are asbsolutly right Lisa..except the thread title is I think people missed what this was about completly and went off on their own little tangents. It wasn't about tracking or break off alti etc.... I would hope that everyone already knows what you stated. Plan the Dive and Dive the plan. and you should always break 1000-1500 feet above the highest puller so if she pulls at 3.5-4 5000 feet is where they should be breaking. That should be UNDERSTOOD.. From what you oringally said If you are staring at your Alti then you are NOT doing this I would suggest getting used to glancing at your alti. to see where the needle is not staring at it. Your suggestion would be fine IF She where A) Jumping alone B) Jumping with a coach Her orignal question had to do with RW dives with multiple people and "LOCKING" on to Alti until pull time. The Big Sky theory is just that THEORY. If you track off from an RW dive at 6k and never look up/back/down/sideways after coming out of your track (at 5k) and lock onto your alti until you pull I don't want you in the sky with me. YOU ARE NOT AWARE. Shit happens and inattention (Yes STARING at your altimeter is inattention) will not only kill YOU but usually you take someone else with you. No way you can be AWARE staring at the shiney spinning thing Your procedure is safe for AFF but I wouldn't want you on a jump with me if your spending more time staring at your wrist instead of skydiving. Shit happens and if your staring at your wrist that will be the last thing you see when it hits the fan. Keep your jumps to solo's or two ways with a coach until your able to be AWARE throughout the ENTIRE skydive from take off to packing. Then why did you bother to come ask? (We have lots of cessna's flying over our buildings while we are at work) When asked what you want for Christmas/Birthday etc you just say call 800-skydive (locally 800 number for skydive Ogden) and put money on my books.. I LOVE getting out at 3.5-4k We launch 3-4 ways all the time. My favorite thing to do is set up in the door and come out straight in a track and see how far I can get before 2K My Tracking definatly has improved because of this. I also love leaving in a back track and flipping off the camera guys Another really cool thing to do with a plane load of Tandems is open the door and push the guy out then shut the door real fast and turn around and say. "Thats what happens when you fart on the plane,are to cheap to pay what the rest of us have to pay etc etc etc" Their eyes get really big! So I guess they really arn't Hop and Pops for me just low altitude skydives since I usually take 10-14 second delays.
