  1. The biggest problem we have is unnecessary spending. End of story. well I was referring to the increase in the cost of employing someone (since that's what the article was referring to). Though I perhaps wasn't specific enough about that. -- Rob
  2. It's not against the law to fight back against the accountant. Wendy P. http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/Docs/PE/htm/PE.9.htmhttp://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/Docs/PE/htm/PE.9.htm and it may not be against the law to fight back against a LEO who is using unlawful force. know your local laws, don't be sheeple. -- Rob
  3. I think the biggest problem is that part of that increase is going to be passed to the employee, thus giving them less spending power. And reducing domestic cashflow, and stifling any economic recovery that may be going on. -- Rob
  4. And I reject yours. . Kelpy is correct. This is silly Waiting for weather at Summerfest. I suppose I could get on a creeper but this is more fun. creepers are fun - you just need a windy day and a old round edit: and a camera and some bored idiots Voice of experience? Hell... I drove the golf cart with the camera guy on it trying to get video of the whole thing. -- Rob
  5. no slam perceived. no disagreement either. -- Rob
  6. Are you sure you want to make that argument? It's a thoughtless one. no, it's the correct argument. from some of the research I've read (admittedly a while ago) unfiltered natural tobacco and unfiltered natural pot, aren't much different in their negative health effects. but when you start adding pig blood and radioactive material to it, all bets are off. 7. please don't label me. I'm conservative on the high-noise topics that get discussed here the most (guns, taxes), but should we come to talk about laws that affect people's behavior, you'll find me to be rather liberal. -- Rob
  8. hogwash. http://www.theboxotruth.com/docs/bot3_2.htm That advice is usually given by those with little practical firearms experience. Birdshot makes a poor defense round. true that an AR round tends to punch holes. Though it's designed to tumble on impact, hole punching can happen. And, the shooter is responsible for ALL damage caused by the rounds leaving the barrel, not just the first target they hit. -- Rob
  9. Being that this is TX, there has to be a grand jury hearing for any shooting. So it's likely that the young man was at least taken in and processed. (I'm not sure how that all works in the case of a shooting) That would have happened with any person. LEO's son or not. Also, in TX, the perp can't file suit for injuries that happened to him while he was in the process of a criminal act. (or something to that effect) -- Rob
  10. I would like to point out that you've succeeded in trolling the site's biggest troll :) -- Rob
  11. I've found the amount of that crap I receive varies by the opposite of the party of the sitting president, and spikes around election times. -- Rob
  12. I understand that point of view. My explanation is "I think that a gentleman should carry a pocket knife". But if you don't use it, and you find it a bother with security, then don't carry it. I know when I'm going through security checks, and it's never been a problem. I typically use one of the knives I carry at least once a day. And when I travel, I miss having one until I pick up my checked bag, when they go right back in my pocket. Only time I was ever questioned was visiting the USS Constitution. They had "no guns" signs up, but the folks running the security checkpoint looked at my knives and handed them back to me. I suppose that the tour is given by active duty marines should mean those pocket knives don't mean much in the way of a threat. -- Rob
  13. don't know about our CinC, but I've noticed that not many people carry pocket knives anymore. I'm amazed at how many people are surprised (some bordering on shocked) by the fact that I routinely carry two. The indoor entertainment generations have lost touch with outdoor skills and don't realize the different challenges that await. (and we wonder why we have an obesity problem) -- Rob
  14. ah... but you include mile 81 also in http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3909174;page=unread#3916590 if you didn't, then there would only be 7. -- Rob
  15. http://www.homestead-products.com/mills-countryliving.htm I have one on my list too. The one linked above is considered by most to be the best on the market. Also easy to rig with a motor. -- Rob
  16. there are 8 years listed there, but the time span between a date in the first year, and a date in the last year, is only 7 years. -- Rob
  17. I'm confused... did you typo? in the first sentence you imply 81-88 is not 7 years, then in the second, you imply that it's obvious that it's 7 years. because it is indeed 7 years. -- Rob
  18. available elsewhere. don't know what you require for proof. But the link being 404 doesn't mean much. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D6l1GvDWtccI http://www.sodahead.com/united-states/obama-open-door-policy-to-grant-amnesty-to-millions-of-illegals/blog-388791/ http://www.numbersusa.com/content/files/ExecutiveMemo.pdf -- Rob
  19. That was about the Book of Mormon, and how Joseph Smith came to 'discover' it. http://www.southparkstudios.com/episodes/103969/?autoplay=false Red Hot Catholic Love http://southpark.wikia.com/wiki/Red_Hot_Catholic_Love http://www.southparkstuff.com/season_6/episode_608/epi608script/ The Joseph Smith episode was a different one. -- Rob
  20. I think that 'love thy neighbor,' and 'turn the other cheek,' is a good way to live, whether you believe in God or not. there was one south park episode where they discussed the bible and it's contents. the summary at the end was basically that the new testament is a set of stories that describe one way that people can act to have a good life and interact well with others. It's not a book filled with stories that should be taken literally an applied to everyday life. My take on the New Testament is that it is a collection of stories that were verbally passed through many generations of storytellers, all of which held Jesus in the highest esteem (which could have skewed the re-telling of the stories). And after all those re-tellings it was finally written down and is translated from a translation into many languages. It's easy to see how the original stories are long lost, and only the base ideas of them remain. -- Rob
  21. won't happen. It's an edit, so he ignores it. Sometimes context doesn't change meaning, but don't tell him that. -- Rob
  22. I believe they're waiting for someone to blame it on Bush :) -- Rob
  23. at least this one will be easier to fix -- Rob
  24. isn't this a dupe from last year sometime? just go re-read that thread dude... no need for the mental masturbation again. or is the troll bored? -- Rob
