I didn't offer a plan and nothing is free. I think the gap between our current system and single payer is too wide for one leap. I would start with making it legal for the government to negotiate pricing with drug companies. I'd continue with having a medicare buy in program for anyone who wants in. I'd require all doctors and hospitals to disclose in advance all charges in a clear, understandable way. I'd also require every doctor to accept government negotiated (medicare) pricing for all services. I'd let the market offer any more luxurious services at any price to those who can afford the bill. I'd pay for it by raising the top rates a lot, eliminating the red state subsidy by blue states and confiscating all 400 million privately own firearms except mine and selling them for 25 Bucks each on Ebay.

Can they? The legal right to go to any emergency room and lay the cost off on everyone else does not make it affordable healthcare.

Where were you when there were men and women of color on the stage? FYI, we're not all "Dems" in the sense that we're all like ants in a colony. And frankly, this go around I think beating Trump is more important that social justice. I'm guessing that I'm far from alone amongst my comrades.

That's the spirit! And I'm serious. Even if he can't keep his teeth in his mouth and needs to reach for his ear horn at the dinner table I'm voting Biden. Instead of pointing out his faults let's put together a list of things we are willing to accept in a candidate just to get rid of Trump. Groping puppies, for example.

I don't believe Bernie would win. I believe Biden can win but everyone needs to quit biting his ass.

All I care about is Trump losing. Screw social justice and whatever issues are your current happy points. If Trump wins again I fear ever getting a chance to right wrongs for generations. Nothing, absolutely nothing, that is on offer from any candidates would be worse than a Trump reelection.

Maybe. But she's a mom with a 10 year old kid who was 7 when she started her program in a place that is super expensive to live and has been for a long time. Seems to me if you have a kid job one is to provide for your child. If she was banging out her degree in Marine Biology I can see UC Santa Cruz but I'm pretty sure Anthropology degrees are available in lots of less expensive locations.

Yes, which makes him right. We're a representative democracy not a direct democracy. The people we send are supposed to make hard, informed decisions that we poor, ignorant fools cannot. That is supposed to include having your ass handed back to you at the next election if you can not explain yourself.
