Post trump Legal Actions, Including his Enablers
JoeWeber replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
Don, we can not even hope for justice in the Senate or from the Supreme Court. What we can hope for is a drawn out and well presented case that proves Trumps guilt to any logical mind. Then, with luck, that truth can be hung around the necks of enough R senators who voted not guilty to cost them in their next election. The sad reality is that our Constitution and our system of government has been shown to be something less than a beacon of democracy to the rest of the world. Worse, we apparently also don't have the mechanisms to fix it. -
That's jakee to a T. He never posts a topic of his own to defend but man can he find fault with how anyone says a thing. I often wonder what grade he teaches.

No way, I only do that because they love me. I'm sure of it. -

I'll try to do better. I wouldn't want the reader to misunderstand on my account. -

If it helps at all my liberal friends generally see me as a gun loving right wing hard ass. -
I'm thinking the "Where's Bernie" thread is a great place for you to start work on repairing your tattered reputation. And if you would ever like to answer any questions you've dodged elsewhere on SC here would be highly appropriate.

Agreed to by Putin and approved by both Russian houses. We have a President again.

Religious Authoritarianism Has America nailed to its Cross

If I'm your Joe I accept that I may be wrong. I do not accept the notion that any party involved is at fault. All parties are certainly making their best attempts or they would not be there to begin with. There can be no fault. -
Not like their driverless cars, by God. Damn horseless carriages.

Religious Authoritarianism Has America nailed to its Cross

Man, that to me is a very parochial analysis. The writer/explainer does their best but the capabilities of the reader to understand the message are also determinant. It well could be my general lack of capacities but there are many things I've needed to re-read to even start to get the message. I suppose that's why I'm not on the Alien communications team at SETI. -
Happens to the best of us. To make it right for the next week you need to start every sentence with: "I don't know but I heard somewhere that...."
-
Would it mean anything at all if he were?
-
Yes. And I'd point out that the majority of that is from people traveling coach.

I suppose you could argue that any raw materials mined in the US would benefit from intangible drilling costs and the depletion allowance if you just had to go granular and silly. But I'm not sure you'll find the same sort of underground mining to product in your gas tank vertical integration in solar panel or wind mill manufacturing that you find in the oil industry. Of course MLP's were created to benefit, and were limited, to real estate and natural resource companies so I'm not sure those are an available structure to green industries. No matter, like green energy the government found ways to subsidize hydrocarbon energy. That's a fact.
-
Nope. I left out any subsidy issues to suck you in. Thank you. I know you know that Oil Industry Companies benefit from many Government programs such as Master Limited Partnerships, Intangible Drilling Costs, Royalty Payment Reductions on Federal Lands, the Depletion Allowance, the Domestic Manufacturing Deduction and the Foreign Tax Credit and so on. Are you thinking those should never have been gifted to the industry by the government?
-
Except when his name is Donald J. Trump. You guy's are hilarious.
-
Whiting, Chesapeake Energy Corp., Diamond Offshore Drilling Inc. etc.. Apparently not only Solar companies go tits up.

Eat two arepas and call me in the morning.

The economy destroying pandemic followed the marvel of hydraulic fracturing, right? And no, I don't recommend another as a way of further reducing CO2 emissions. However like fracking once didn't exist so it is with the next thing. Visionaries are willing to gamble on unknowns, stationaries just look at what is easy and now and wonder why anyone would risk change.
-
Unless he's very, very clever.
-
Indeed, Brent, that is the only thing. No other possibilities exist. It was never a chance that fracking wouldn't some day be a reality and certainly an oil embargo is something no cartel would ever impose on an oil drunk western world. And as anyone who can see in their oily crystal ball magical thinking has never once produced a magical technological innovation.

Fuck that. I want his scalp on a pole. The asshole incited insurrection against the United States of America while he was President of the United States of America. If that doesn't warrant conviction then nothing ever will so then why not lets just shred the Constitution and have a goddamn free for all for a government?
-
You need a hug? That was a lame attempt at shaming. We are all dealing with shit, man.
-
And, from reports, took no shit. He addressed US support for Ukraine, Russian hacking including Solar Wind, poisoning Navalny and US willingness to extend the START Treaty at least. Importantly, apparently, he did it before talking to our allies. In other words US leadership on the world stage is back. We have a President again.
