  1. By Friday the 25th at Noon Trump and all 19 named defendants must either volunteer for arrest or face consequences. If they book the bastard I have a bottle of 1996 Grand Cru Burgundy that will be sacrificed.
  2. What's to discuss? The Redite migration to places of no imagination continues apace. When are you going?
  3. 10 indictments handed down in Georgia. DA to speak after the Clerk logs the results into the system, presumably an online system. It is late there now, for sure.
  4. Except now we have Trump Judges implanted everywhere and and equally perfidious republican coverup party playing defense.
  5. That's as beside the point as this manufactured brouhaha over my observing that the detainees hold dual citizenship. I explained why I included that fact a few times and if that's not satisfactory so be it. Too bad there seems so little interest in the actual matter.
  6. I'm an EU resident not a citizen, yet.
  7. I wouldn't say red herring, maybe light pink herring, but it is a fact and I was simply observing it.
  8. As in 5 soccer moms kidnapped off the streets of America? Yes. I am not making my point well enough, I guess. I tend to categorize folks with multiple citizenships as internationalists who should have a fair knowledge of the risks, in this case, of holding US citizenship in a hostile nation. But that is just one aspect of this, the paying of vast sums of money as one component of this hostage release is just bad policy. Hey, I know, why not call me out for victim blaming, too?
  9. You are being silly. It was simply being descriptive of who they are: folks of Iranian decent with Iranian and American citizenship living and/or working in Iran where they were detained. That is worldly people who must have known there was some risk of detention simply because they were dual citizens.
  10. Agreed. I'm as happy to let the hostages sue Iran as I am Slim, of course. I just really think we made a mistake for everyone, not just the US. But it's not a done deal yet and hopefully it goes to hell and President Harris kiboshes the whole thing
  11. Money is fungible and the $6 Billion in hostage money is unlikely to cause them to be any more humanitarian; they'll just use the boon to make more boom. Worse setting a hostage price is foolhardy. No matter, let's say you're right and that they are now disagreeable and dangerous actors because the United States kicked a nice dog until it became a mean dog. If you feel okay, because of some sense of right letting it play with your kids that's your call, but I think the damn thing needs to stay in it's cage until we're sure it'll play nice again.
  12. I think the Biden administration is blowing it big time. I don't care who these dual citizenship folks are or what trumped up charges were leveled against them. Whoever they are, they aren't 5 soccer moms kidnapped, with their minivan, off the streets of America and no way should we be trading 5 of our prisoners and $6 Billion Dollars for them. Thinking that the money will only be spent on humanitarian programs is foolish. We are giving Iran $6 Billion to spend on their armament programs and there is no other rational way to see it. Even if there is some inside poker we can't see we are still setting the per hostage price at $1.2 Billion. Not smart.
  13. What does your friend do that he has such access?
  14. Maybe Godfather Biden took it in untraceable cash and blow from Hunter? Sure, that's it. Prove it's not true if you can.
  15. No, the Global, Elite, Border Wall Hating Cartel is not saying that Climate Change will kill us all. We are actually happy that we'll all be dead from other causes before the worst effects of a warming planet make life on our pale blue dot less tenable. Now I won't lie, I think most of us would be happy if it could be arranged that all of the chowder heads went first. But I digress, the thing is that we have already had a more active than "normal" Atlantic Hurricane season and warming sea temperatures have caused NOAA to upgrade their forecast to more activity. Will it happen? Got me, but I wouldn't bet against it. In truth you'd need to be a complete ninny to not notice that hot, ugly, weather is happening mostly everywhere. Yes, Brent will be along with a graph he doesn't understand to refute the point but if you don't believe it just step outside. Now, you'll forgive me for being a little giggle and agog as I enjoy the world going to hell but here in Oregon, where no one believed it was safe to cross the border without a stash of umbrellas and a few bath towels not too long ago, we are now the nations comfy banana belt of easy sunshine, with no humidity, and pleasant light winds daily. Add to that excellent wine, great craft beers and, for those so disposed, weed stores in numbers like auto part stores in Georgia. The point being that one mans melted glacier that ruined his life will be another mans benefit at least in our meaningless time frames.
  16. Crazy. So once we passed the Slim King golden age of communication, a time when just yelling at your neighbor over the fence constituted social media, and found a way to let folks know that tornadoes and hurricanes and floods and locust explosions and zombie attacks were coming deaths went down. Damn, who could have guessed?
  17. Without mutations there would be no genetic variation. I'll leave you to sing, dance or skeptical think about why that would be bad.
  18. Well, this might cheer you up. Jack Smith is requesting trial on January 2 and say's the government will need only 4-6 weeks to present their case. gov.uscourts.dcd.258148.23.0_1.pdf
  19. Maybe we should just ditch sports as an important human endeavor and switch to board games. Problem solved.@
  20. Yep, and it's not owing to fewer voters identifying as R or leaning R according to Gallup: https://news.gallup.com/poll/467897/party-preferences-evenly-split-2022-shift-gop.aspx They've actually gained on the D's while the number of voters identifying as Independent is falling. So get ready for living in an armed autocracy and a lot more Jesus.
  21. So much stuff that we did in the old days and I miss it all. But leaving it all behind was what we needed to do to advance the sport and I do not regret that at all.
  22. I used to bring 2 182's and 8 jumpers plus me to Dave's Memorial Day deal at Snohomish. The funnest jumps were the 5 airplane 10 ways, 2 from each airplane with a second pass of 5 airplanes in formation in the shit. Sometimes we did it from 6-8K half blind. Big fun before we had any sense.
  23. OMG, are you saying that God might look like Dav3e Ruckert?
  24. Please, pretty please, and please again Judge Cannon, please say yes.
