She goes home and tells her husband what happened. Her husband finds the guy and clocks him. Her husband happens to be the local police chief. My thought process usually leans toward holding officials like this entirely responsible and entirely accountable when they break the rules.... but ...but, man. I'm having a hard time thinking that this police chief might lose his job. It just doesn't seem fair. I don't think he did anything most normally rational men wouldn't do. Any thoughts?     The "lose your stomach" feeling is caused when your body accelerates. When you jump from a moving object you're going as fast as it is the instant you exit. If it's going slower than your terminal velocity, you'll accelerate to TV but it isn't as noticeable as when you go from zero to TV. It doesn't really matter that you are moving forward, just that you are moving. Imagine exiting from a plane that was diving straight down at 120 MPH. You wouldn't get that feeling then either.     Your poll doesn't include just telling her that she's not welcome and needs to move out. That's an option if you have any sort of lease / sublet agreement that she isn't complying with..     If the working guy in question isn't going to have any income at all if his industry fails he's pretty much fucked. If the union guy thinks auto industry execs are earning too much he should petition his union to do something about it. If he thinks elected officials earn too much he should vote for a change. If he thinks news anchors earn too much he should stop watching television. But what are the odds that the average working guy could stop watching tv? Better odds he'll win the lottery, huh?     Invite good friends to your reception and don't serve food. Have a cash bar. Explain to them that you don't have extra funds to wine and dine them. If they're true friends they'll be okay with the idea. This isn't about you having to feed people. It's about friends celebrating your wedding.     So..... I got laid off last Tuesday. I'm 45 years old, a veteran (but that was 20 years ago), and this is the first full week I've been unemployed since I was 14 years old except for the first year and a half of my daughter's life.     I enjoy a nice, relaxed floater exit for solos. Relaxing can be a great focus for a first solo..... watch the plane fly away and smile. Try doing some slow 360's and build up your knowledge of the landmarks around your DZ. Look at the ground and your altimeter and start working on getting your eyeballs trained to know your altitude.
