  1. I would highly recommend seeing an Active Release Therapist (ART) soon then. I started seeing a Chriopractor who also does ART last month after a crash landing on the runway left me with a very badly bruised tailbone/lower spine and a few bad openings on a Sabre1 left my neck pretty tweaked, both from January. I can now twist my neck 90 degrees to both sides (hoping for 100 degrees within the next few sessions) and can sit for extended periods of time, almost completely pain free. In time I will have no pain. My Chiropractor is saving my sanity - find one that listens to you and you won't be disappointed. I'm fortunate that mine is also the chiro for the New England Patriots, so he is very versed in 'sports related injuries'. He also does ART therapy for Ironman Tri's when they come to the New England area. I can't brag about ART enough - its amazing. Jen Arianna Frances

  3. Are you at all familiar with that area of the US? I am because I don't live to far and have family in Prince Edward Island Canada that I visit via the same entry point he used. People hunt there - he could have simply told them he was hunting. To get stopped because someone doens't look right - would it have been any different if he was covered in shit? - doesn't warrant arrest. If it did next we'd be hearing about getting arrested because you looked at the cop wrong Screw that! I am very glad, in our season of increased governement involvement, that he did make it through. They had no reason to stop him if there were no warrants for his arrest. Thankfully he was caught, but at the border was not the place to do that. Jen Arianna Frances
  4. I'm friends with a woman who's husband is an FDA inspector for fast food chains in the north east. He says the meats that McDonalds uses is very high quality - better than many 'sit down' restaurants he's seen. Jen Arianna Frances
  5. I don't want to sound harsh, but IMO I'm not sure I would want to call attention to myself (and I guess I would fall into your definition of 'disabled' although I have NEVER considered myself such). I hate labels, and probably wouldn't participate in something like this. There are some people with certain disabilities that just shouldn't skydive and as such I wouldn't think that glamorizing (sp?) it would be a smart idea. Although I think its great that people who don't fit the typical skydiving mold overcome many different things in order to achieve their dream, bringing attention to that fact may only bring hardships in the end. (I've had to jump many hurdles to skydive) I know of a few people who have said they won't jump with people that have some kind of diability (such as seizures or something that causes an increased chance of passing out such as a heart condition) unless they are 1000% sure nothing will happen - which is impossible on any dive, let alone one with a 'disabled' person. I feel very blessed/lucky that I am able to skydive, and as a result I love the fact that I can be 'Skydiver' rather than "Skydiver with a disability" - because in the end, being different is not all its cracked up to be Jen Arianna Frances
  6. No why would they stop him? No warrants or any reason too. I'd be more appauled if they stopped him because 'he didn't look right'. Jen Arianna Frances

  8. I think this is a good idea. Don't keep digging a deeper and deeper hole for you to have to climb out of. No one can make the deicion for you, but you need time to reflect... away from here. Jen Arianna Frances
  9. Same thing happened to me in Sebastian in January. I managed to rip off toe nails through the sock, shoe and jumpsuit bootie. I can only imagine what would have happened had I not worn any shoes. And that thought would have never crossed my mind, cause I'd never jump without them! I hope you can learn from it Misty - and take Scott Miller's canopy course! I took it after my accident and it has really helped me learn how to NEVEr do it again. Heal fast!

  18. Can't comment on the summer, but was there a few times over the winter. No place to stay on the DZ. Pretty skimpy places to stay in Sebastian. I stayed in Palm Bay, about 30 min. away. Not much in the way of night life as a result... Great jumps and a great view either way! Jen Arianna Frances
  19. I just have to love the broad definition of 'mentally ill' Everyone falls into that category at some point... so who's to say who's really mentally ill? Jen Arianna Frances

  23. OMG - I'm jealous. As soon as I can I'm adopting a rescued greyhound. They are some of the most gentle caring dogs I have ever come in contact with. They are so deserving too! How nice of you to do that! Jen Arianna Frances
