Hey not to worry i have just got my CAT A and least my lodger said i had (it came through the post today) and here i am stuck on an oil platform 40 miles of the coast of west africa looking at blue skies and light breezes argggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh. if i could send some sunshine your way i could, but c'est la vie, but not to worry i get back to englands green and pleasant lands where i have got 4 weeks off to jump my arse off!!!!! and hopefully the weather will be good. heres hoping!! ttfn Allan

you lucky sod! i am stuck on a platform 40 miles off the african coast looking at blue skies and a 5 knot wind, there is not a cessna or any plane (except 30,000 ft above my head) nearby and i have another 3 weeks of this torture. mind you i get to jump for a solid 4 weeks when i get back home woooohoooo. yeh the CD system in the caravan is cool i did my first 6 AFF jumps in a visiting dornier which went woosh up to 14,000 ft in about 12 minutes (quite exciting) and the rest where done out of the porter and the caravan my 3rd consol jump was a sunset jump up to 15,000 ft with the melodies of "don't worry be happy" going on in the background a very enjoyable jump i must admit. seeya Allan

the DZ i go too and think of as home is Langar in the U.K now 1stly i have to take a boat (i live on the isle of wight [island on south coast of england]) then a 4/5 hour car journey up to nottingham, when the weather is good jumping is excellent (winter - cessna caravan 'n' porter, summer - a let is there also and sometimes a dornier[this thing gets you to 14000 ft in 12 minutes woooohooooo]) the people are friendly and the instructors and staff are dieing for you to get up in the skies, the beer is cold and the vodka is cheep. etc etc. thats my home from home amber liquid blue skies allan

right well my nickname came about during my aff there i am with a few other guys from the DZ getting absolutly arseholed ! now this girl from the local village sidles up and starts talking to me well at first i see this really big blob, spots etc (i don't meen to offend anyone but she was scary well) well whilst on my 8th sambuca i think to my self her legs look ok, a few more and i say she's got a sense of humour, even more great personality after that i woke up and thought to my self "this is not a tent" looked around and guess who's snuggled in my armpit yep you guessed . well i sidle and io swerve, i try and pry the thighs which are wrapped around me and just as i am getting out the door she wakes up and says "high sweety fancy another one" with this i bolt for the door run out and begin my walk of shame back to the airfield, to find a pubic hair between my mouth, and i'm sorry i just puked up bad, well obviously as i got caught by the guys in the tent next to mine creeping back in to mine, it doesn't take a rocket science to figure what i've been up to so for the rest of the week all i heard from manifest was "will huffermoose please report to manifest if you want a jump, guffaw guffaw" amber liquid blue skies allan

I remember jumping through cloud (not intentionnaly) while i was doing my consuls, it was in march and the cloud was full of ice, it felt like my face was getting sand blasted with all the crystals in the air. all the rest of them did not have a problem the just sit flew and took it in the arse (no pun intended) amber liquid blue skies Allan

Nice one have just completed my AFF took me a week and a half including the 10 consul jump but i must admit the hop 'n' pop was the scariest i jumped out but did not present myself to the wind so flipped on my back and it was arch arch arch and after 7 seconds i was on my back a lovely pull and that was that, great feeling getting you A license isn't it? amber liquid blue skies Allan

well thanks for the feedback, i think i'll give it a crack i think, am planning to rent a long term appartment in empuriabrava in spain starting in autumn for the winter period and beyond so if anyone fancies going down there (sun, blue skies, seniorietas, cervecas etc etc) i will be able to put most people up without a problem. blue skies amber liquid

tell me about it luckily the DZ i went too has not been effected but if you land off the DZ in some farmers field they aint gonna be happy, i believe the CCI turned around to me and said "if you land off the DZ just fuc%&ng explode O.K!, no traces"

don't even bother listening to the forecast around the u.k and ireland because you will find everyone hanging around the drop zone and at the first glimpse of a blue bit people are kicking down the manifest door ready to get up there, i've only jumped in the u.k and it's just a matter of patience the forcasters never get it right any how blue skies and amber liquid
