I really don't understand how anyone would think thats the "right" thing to do

I just watched an episode and it showed a short part about a guy who was doing his first AFF jump. When he was doing his COA the narrator said, "you can see his fear, he keeps looking for his instructors for their reassurance" then when he went for his practice touches the narrator said, "obviously he is terrified, he keeps reaching back to make sure his parachute is still there!". LMAO!!!! I sat there with my mouth wide open because the guy was doing what he was supposed to and they are making it out to be way different. These shows always try to make it seem SO DRAMATIC. Now you think thats bad enough, the guy chopped at around 1k or less because he didn't want to land where his canopy was heading (from what he says)!!!! He walked away with a sprained ankle.. WHAT A DUMBASS!!!! That should go down as the stupid student of the year!!!

ROFLMFAO!!!!! Don't ask me to elaborate on that one please I didn't know what a whuffo was either until now so I thank you. I thought that it was like the term "squid" in motorcycle circles... Guess not, in that case I know a SCHITLOAD of whuffo's!!

I do go there a lot. The only prob is the speed. I have a highspeed connection and usually pick two at a time to DL. Half way through the DL some of them will time out. Gets annoying.. I still try every now and again though. -
What is the benefit of having a full faced helmet? Beside it being quiet and the wind not running up your nose?

And I just finished watching Drop Zone (while drinking beer and it still sucked) and fast forwarded to the jump scene in Point Break. Yes I know Drop Zone sucks but I gotz to see something with some jumping in it, I have 3 more days to wait The only good thing about Drop Zone is the toggle noises I really need to order some half way decent skydive flicks!! Sorry for the boredom post -
Go to skydivingmovies.com then to the student section and watch some of the level 6's. Its easy to do but feels a bit weird on your first try. Watch the video and it will give you an idea on what to do. First time I tried mine I didn't get all the way around because I didn't move my hands at the same time. 2nd try I did it all at the same time and sure enough over I went. Great fun and easy to do, no worries...

I have been looking at the Vector 3 also from Relative workshop http://www.relativeworkshop.com. Infinity also looks like a nice rig. I am in the exact same boat as you are right now and it kind of sucks. Good luck...

The main types of containers I see around are Mirage and Javelin (sp). I herd that Mirage has nice extra features. Is there really one company that is better then another or is a container a container? I don't know why but for some reason I am leaning towards Javelin...

I am taking the packing class on Thursday I have 13 jumps under my belt. I don't know the first thing about packing and I am kinda scared to pack my own and jump. It sucks waiting around for somebody to pack your rig. I know I could of made 10 loads in a day if I knew how to pack instead of 2

6' 165lbs, I have 13 jumps. I don't want to pay gear rental fee's at my DZ which is the main reason I want my own shizzy. I am looking for a 210 main. I have flown a 200 as well though.

When you do your diving exit make sure to put your feet all the way to your ass right as you exit. If you don't the wind will push your legs and flip you. Wait about 2 seconds or so then put your legs back to normal. It will save you a flip, sometimes I think the JM's don't tell you because they want you to go unstable and then stable again on exit. Fun either way if you ask me

I have been looking in the classifieds and on ebay. I know what canopy I am looking for (size at least) but am having trouble finding the container I want (I know, looks don't matter, but I don't want an ugly ass container. I plan on using it for awhile) Should I buy a new container, cypress and reserve? Then buy a used main? I have gotten over the price part but I dont want to spend 5k I bet most of you are tired of answering questions like these, sorry....
