If all the facts are reported correctly then the judge fucked up big time. I am losing more and more faith in our justice system. We convict guys of rape when the woman involved is gangbanging 3 guys but says she might have to go home. This is after she has already fucked 2 guys, yet at the same time this girl who was held at gunpoint and (truly) raped doesn’t get the justice she deserves. Am I living in opposite world? But here are a few things to consider. Rape is a very sensitive subject. What’s the guys story? Do they admit that they held her at gunpoint and forced her to have sex? Whats there version of the way things happened. There are always two sides to a story and unfortunately the media never does a good job of covering both. IMHO It is rape when you are forced to/ or drugged to have sex period. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

I guess I should have used a better word. I should say are pervious foreign policy as well as current. The list is long, and I honestly don’t know of a place where the various informations are gathered. We have a long history of supporting puppet governments, Horrible dictators we sided with, and sometimes even direct interference in a conflict, and etc. The list is long and goes back a 100 years for us and even longer for the British. We just need to mind our own business or do the right thing under the understanding that the right thing for us is not always the right thing morally speaking. Here is my personal disclaimer. The thing that I always try to remind my self of is this. If we were not a super power if we were the weak would we be treated in a morally right way? I really don’t think that would be the case. I believe some of the countries might do much worst then we have if they could. But that also begs this questions to be asked. If we were weaker would we like being treated like the way we have treated others in the past? I also think the answer to this would also be a no. Just think we are weak and a country that is half way around the planet sends a cruse missile to your city, and there is nothing you can do about it. I think us as people just need to realize that there are extremist every where, and just as some Jewish, or Christian groups do not represent all Christians and Jews the Extremist Muslims do not represent all Muslims. You know I have lived and have been close to people from all walks of life and they all want the same thing. A chance to be productive, a chance to grow, Safety, and the same for there kids. I think you are correct that there is a culture clash. However I also I think what we need to understand is this. The reason we were attacked was not that we like are girls half naked, that we drink beer, or that people have sex out side of marriage, but mostly because of our foreign policy and are pervious history in the Middle East. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

We started a war (an unjust war) for the wrong reasons that has resulted in the deaths of many Iraqi civilians. We are not extremists and not murders or at least we claim not to be, however are actions have caused the deaths of many. There is no such thing as a tolerant religion if the religion rules are actually followed. If Jews, Christians and Muslims followed what there religion stated it would be anything but tolerant, and a lot of people would be killed or punished. What you are mentioning is the big issue. There are people in the world and not just the Muslim worlds who believe in what their religion tells them and do not believe in modifying it. The main reform in the Middle East needs to be separation of Church and State. After the separation of church and state went in to effect then it would take time to adjust peoples view. Just like in the US; a lot of things have to become acceptable by the general population That takes time. Just think of what was considered unacceptable 50 years ago in the us. And again Islam in not a religion of peace but justice. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

That’s the hypocrisy of it all. We bend what we view to be right and wrong to fit with what is convenient for us at the moment, and the sheep will follow. We think Muslims are backwards because they want to live there way, but we are so sure that are way is the right way and we are willing to show you that as we put a gun to your child’s head. Be free or die 3000 people died on 9-11 it is one the biggest tragedies in US history right? How many inocent lives have we taken in this war, or in any of the other unnecessary, unjust, financially motivated wars we have started? That’s the disconnect that I find with the blind and patriotic. There set of morals changes to fit their needs and bends depending on whom they feel the most camaraderie with at that moment. Tell Me, What Type "Denier" Is Dr William Gray?

So the whole Ozone thing was a lie to? The aerosols did not cause the layer to deteriorate? I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain -
Tell Me, What Type "Denier" Is Dr William Gray?
Darius11 replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
Dose this guy deny the Ozone layer issues of the late 80s-early 90s as well? If aerosol sprays can destroy the Ozone why is so hard to believe that massive amounts of CO2 can effect our world. What about the simple act of looking at a skyline? Look over an industrial city and then a place where there is no industry. Is any one going to deny that they notice a big difference? Where has common sense goon? I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain -

Hi all. A friend of mine has been writing a book on the subject of aging and mortality. He finally finished the book and I got to read it. I love it even though I feel I am the exception when it comes to the subject of mortality. What I found odd was how so many people feel uncomfortable talking about the subject. Here is what I am curious about. I personally have no issues thinking or talking about my own death or aging. I know it will happen when it will happen. Here is what I am wondering. Is this lack of anxiety a culture thing or is it a skydiver thing. I did post a link to his web site which has a free Interactive class you can take. Interactive class http://www.lifeawarenesscenter.com/class1.html His book is on it as well. Website http://www.lifeawarenesscenter.com/ Here are some of things talked about 10 Fears about death Here is what I like about the book. It teaches you how to live your life fuller by actually excepting the inevitable. So Skydivers whats your take. The name of his book is "Coming to terms with aging the secret to meaningful time" Writen By I Michael Grossman I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

I hope not. I remember reading about it in high school in Iran I don’t know where all this shit is coming from. I also don’t see why Muslims would be offended they had nothing to do with the murders. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

Agreed. How would we get justice on an international level? Maybe if there was a way to handle international issues the way we handle national issues we would not have so much hate in the world. As most would feel satisfied that there was equal justice. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

I agree with you if we are discussing Social philosophy. However that is one example, in many times in the Islamic country the Justice or eye for an eye is not the victims revenge but the rule of law. It is called “Ghesos” which means equal punishment/restitution for the crime or injustice committed. Like if you commit murder 1st degree you get killed. If you killed someone by mistake let’s say in an automobile accident then you are fined and the money is given to the next of kin. So if you get slapped you might not be the one who slaps the guy back the government might. I used the slapping example as I have heard the turn the other cheek saying a lot in reference to Christianity. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

Well if you look at Christianity, or Judaism they say the same thing, and unlike Islam which excepts Christianity, and Judaism the other religions Christianity, and the followers if the Jewish fait believe only they are the ones going to heaven and all other will burn in hell. I don’t think anyone is disagreeing that Sadam was a bad guy, but what you seem to be forgetting is we supported him even after he used WMD on civilians during the Iran and Iraq war. The question here is not weather Sadam was a bad guy or a good guy but what is our intent? If we really want to rid the world of bad people and want to spread liberty and freedom to the world then how come all these guys Sadam, OBL, and this list can go on and on were people who we supported? We do what is right for us with zero regard for anyone but our interest, and many times it is not even the interest of the average citizens but the top 10%. That’s why I keep on using the word hypocrisy, as our rules and so-called Moral standards change and slant to what is convenient. I also don’t think we should make the call on how many inocent Iraqis should die because we believe they should have a democracy. The standard of life has been going down ever since we decided Sadam had WMD, and even nuclear capabilities that were an imminent threat Well if we leave now it will not only be a blood bath but also yet another dishonorable moves on our part. We caused this mess I know it has become convenient to blame the Iraqi government, or even the Iraqi people for it but if it were not for us Iraq would not be in the condition it is now. This was a war that was wrong to start period. I agree that just getting up and living is not the solution or the honorable thing to do. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

I think we are dealing with trwo different worlds. I can honestly say I am not sure of which way is right or wrong, and even if there is one way that is better. My personal experince is that in the United States (that is mostly Christians) the average person is thought to turn the other cheek , walk away and forgive. In Iran we are thought not to become victims or victimize. If someone slaps your cheek make sure you slap his back hard enough that he does not think of doing it ever again. To me the later of the two is justice turning the other cheek and getting slapped all the time and just being peaceful is unacceptable. I think revenge is sought after in all countries and all religions. Our actions after 9-11 were hardly turning the other cheek. The problem is we are ok with the shit that we pull but when others do the same thing even on a much lesser scale we think they are evil. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

And then Jesus said invade and kill the people, who have the black gold, no matter how many inocent lives are lost, as Jesus checked his Haloberton stock he rejoiced and said in money we trust. Oh wait that’s not what Jesus said is it? Here is a giant mirror you peaceful knowledgeable human being you a library card is usually free. Get one and use it. One last thing that has been mentioned here, I think this might be the 10 or 20th time. Islam is a religion of Justice; Christianity is a religion of peace. So basically GWB who is very religious took turn the other cheek and made it in to preemptive attacks. Bravo Jesus would be proud. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

News Bulletin: from now on we will attack and kill any one who Might attack us or has the capability to attack us even if they haven't. Holy shit that’s a lot of countries. Hmmmmmmmm my next door neighbor has a gun so he is capable of killing me should we attack first? I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

I doubt that they can. I bet if you line them up right next to US troops I wouldn’t be able to tell you who is who. As they are wearing military uniforms and carry M-16 or at least the ones i have seen. No matter who black water or the US troops are I bet the Iraqis just sees Americans in their land. As for the mercenary comment I believe the armed members of Black water are exactly that. They get paid a lot of money to do the governments biting and are armed and ready to shoot. They are armed and have been accused of “Shooting or killing first and asking questions later” according to the US Senat. In regards to the shooting that killed 17 Iraqi civilians in a market. I don’t think we can compare our troops to the people in Backwater. Our troops are doing there Job they didn’t necessary join to get action and make a whole bunch of money, Backwater is doing it for the money I personally have no respect for that. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

I am usually the guy who makes fun of these Clebs, but I feel bad for her. I feel bad for any woman who feels so much pressure to look like a 17-year-old all her life. I felt bad for her when I heard she thought she was a fat pig (she looked great), and I feel bad for her now. The fame is not worth it, IMHO I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
