  1. So here we are again where cops can kill with imputiny and they can be sure their asses are covered. Oh why oh why, does the population not trust establishment anymore?
  2. Like RMK said... The people that want to stay are more likely to not vote because they lack the fervor. That's the only effect that I could see that could cause the exit IMHO.
  3. If you think the Brits will stay say yay, if not vote nay.
  4. I love this delusional Fantasy you live in. You have the most well armed and violent police force in any first world country. You incarcerate more people than ANY other country on earth, in absolut and relative numbers. Your government can and does legally kill US citizens without due process. Your police force seizes private assets without a conviction and gives a part of what is seized to a private entity. (see Oklahoma) Your military has spent the last decade perfecting fighting against a guerrilla enemy, but for some reason you think the government is scared of few rednecks with AR-15s. It is fucking hilarious is what it is. edited to add: If not rebel now, when then?
  5. The dude had his internal conflict because of fundamentalist Islam. If his religion and culture where accepting of homosexuality he wouldn't have been angry. Radical Islam offered an out with the promise of paradise. How does this not have anything to do with the shooting? His internal struggle that homosexuality is wrong, yet he is somehow attracted to men caused this violence. This is just like anti gay republicans who are caught with male prostitutes in public restrooms. Like Christians shooting up abortion clinics, without the Christian vitriol against abortion, they probably wouldn't have done this. Taking Islam out the equation is disingenuous at best and a huge problem when you are trying to tackle these issues since your ignoring a core part of the problem. If you think Islam/Arab culutre is not a problem, please take a look at _ANY_ majority Islamic country and look how they treat homosexuals. Normiss, normally you write pretty smart stuff, this time though, you've drunken too much of the left cool aid.
  6. Maybe God is trying to show these people to not prostelyze in Haiti. What would it take for these stubborn people to finally get Gods message?
  7. Actually emotions aren't that subjective at all. You can literally look at somebody love somebody else in an MRI. Further, the reason people love their families is pretty well understood in social science. I know it's a soft science, it is science none the less. It's also a huge stretch to equate believing in people returning from the dead and finding a reason for loving your family.
  8. Do you think this is a bad thing? To be very honest, I simply don't see a lot of the positives that Christianity has today. They are very selective with to whom they give their money. Also billions are spent on things like lobbying to protect their pedophile preists. http://www.businessinsider.com/r-as-pope-visit-nears-us-sex-victims-say-church-remains-obstacle-to-justice-2015-9?IR=T The mormon church spent millions to lobby politics to end gay marriage like in CA. They fight sex education, science education and education in general(Banning certain books for example). Anybody that is tired of the shit that is done in the name of religion. Oh my... You mean like homosexuals or divorced people losing their jobs in church institutions. You shouldn't be a scientist if your core beliefs are contradictionary to everything your field stands for. You can't be a biologist and believe in creationism for example. You still don't seem to understand that nobody wants you to stop worshiping or believing whatever you wish in your private time and space. You should not be able to use government institutions to push your belief on others, yet this happens in schools and courts and on money and so on and so on. In science their simply is no room for compromise.
  9. Are you saying that there are more homosexuals because there is less bigotry against them? I don't hink I understand what exactly you mean with this? undoubtedly, as long as they keep their faith to themselves nobody cares. It's when they start using their faith to push things like anti homosexuality where the problem starts.
  10. We are also predisposed to things like type 2 Diabetes and depression. That doesn't mean they are intrinsically good or that they should be nurtured. Education can help you reduce your risk in getting diabetes. You know, exercise and eating correctly. Faith/belief in God can be avoided by the right education too, or why do you think all highly educated nations have record numbers of atheists? Their intrinsic will to believe in some superstition has been overcome by education just like their intrinsic will to eat lots of carbohydrates has been overcome by being taught to eat correctly. Instead of seeing your inherent will to believe in some nonsense as proof of of something good, I see it as an evolutionary anachronism that can be overcome with education for the better of humanity.

So your scripture tells you things about a religion that was created at least 600 years after your scripture was created? Is that the same keen observational skill that told you when the world will end!?
  12. Why does that matter at all? He wants people to be able to decide this deeply personal matter for themselves.
  13. I really don't know what to think of this. It goes against everything a democracy stands for. On the other hand, a mass murderer was able to hide for 4 months at home in Brussels. There must be some middle ground.
  14. I agree, when that happens a post maybe in order... Now it's just somebody stoked to be able to take somebody's life. I think that is perverse.
  15. >That's fine, you just don't understand....and while you say that guns may be made for killing, the majority are not used to kill anything. Posting about a large target rifle or IPSC competition gun, you would have a point. But whats a concealed carry gun for? The only point to have one is to be able to kill anytime. woot woot !
  16. FETUS != HUMAN. As soon as you stop arguing with complete false equivalency maybe progress can be made.
  17. , Exactly. Maybe parts of a 250 year old document that has been amended many times to keep up with the times is not the all out guarantee for great living you make it out to be. In case you haven't noticed, the kingdom of England is now your greatest ally. You know things change.... So should things like your holy constitution.
  18. I think there is a fundamental difference between immigration into US and Germany. Immigrants into the US usually come to the US and embrace it's values. The pursuit of happiness and so on. Immigrants are expected and pretty much forced to assimilate into American culture or perish. They are also in the US to stay. The majority of immigrants in Germany for many years where actually the so called Gastarbeiter, which means guest workers, these where first italians, then turks. They where never expected to really integrate because they where here for work. Many of them also retire back home after working here for 40 years. So the whole multi cultural ideology was born and has failed miserably. So we now have 3rd generation turks, which feel they are neither real Germans nor Turks and have created there own subculture with there own vernacular and so on. One reason for this is, that Germany has always feared the debate about what it means to be German, due to the Nazi ballast... But this is a really hard and long discussion which has going on in Germany for many years and has now flamed up again due to the asylum crisis.
  19. That is true... In the early 90s Germany had about 800.000 immigrants from the former soviet countries. It took quite exactly 20 years for them to not be an outlier in the criminal statistics anymore. So yeah 1 generation.
  20. Sarcasm is inherently hard to do via text... Either use the sarcasm tag /s, or say what you mean. Once again you are talking about stuff you know nothing about. The 3 months controversy was with itunes, not with spotify. Ms Swift and her management are simply using her popularity to fuck consumers.... Just as Adele did recently.
  21. Really you genius, did you even read my original comment? The 6 million is only for the streaming rights for spotify. That is also what my comment is about. I do not think an artist with who is so successful should deny people her music because she feels $6mio is not enough money... Further - I believe flat rates for media access should be the future. Taylor Swift's greed is hindering fair media distribution for the people.
  22. So 6 million dollars per year is working for free in your world...
