Want to see the government cut the federal budget but do not support reductions in military spending, Social Security or Medicare. I'm amazed that you read what you want to read and disregard what is written. This quote mentions nothing about deficit reduction or a balanced budget. Read it again. It's very doable. Mitt Romney summarizes Health Care Debate in Israel.
airdvr replied to ShcShc11's topic in Speakers Corner
http://www.who.int/whr/2000/en/whr00_en.pdf World Health Organization ranked Israel 28th in health quality while the U.S ranked 37th. Israel's health care quality definitely matches the U.S (if not surpassing it). Cheers! -
How have race relations under Obama changed in the last four years?
airdvr replied to Skyrad's topic in Speakers Corner
What's really telling I think is that quite a few have voted but only a handful have commented. We're still where we were 3 years ago. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne -
Socialised healthcare rocks, you Yanks should really try it.

[replyTill next month when he does the main record breaking jump from 125,000 ft. which will of course push the ceiling even higher. Perhaps you missed this part....Unfortunately, the Stratos capsule sustained damage on landing, potentially delaying the third and final Stratos jump, planned for 120,000 feet to break Joe Kittinger’s historic mark of 102,800 feet, set in 1960. How do you stop massacres by mentally unstable people using guns?
airdvr replied to Skyrad's topic in Speakers Corner
We should actually go in the other direction. Everyone should be able to carry a weapon. When everyone is armed, someone might think twice about walking into a theatre knowing he will get return fire. Also, it would clear up the court dockets pretty quickly. Please don't dent the planet. Can someone explain this to me? Ed Scott's message in Parachutist
airdvr replied to jinlee's topic in Safety and Training
Not sure what you are trying to say? There are alot less lawyers (per capita) here. We don't have anything close to the level of ligitation that you have in the USA. Here you have to pay for legal advice and you generally can't sue for personal injury. And yes, to all those who think filling in an incident report for an off-landing is a waste of time and probably of little real value to anyone, I agree. I'm not sure precisely where the requirement comes from, however the form is sent to the CAA. blue ones. I'm saying one possible reason no one wants to document incidents that are non-fatal is fear of a lawsuit. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne -

I'm willing to bet there are alot less bored lawyers with nothing to do in NZ than there are in the US. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne -
Interesting thought about employers threatening to drop healthcare because the penalty is less expensive than the employer participation; if the insurance companies aren't complete idiots they will be designing policies that are less expensive for the employer. If it's less expensive for the employer it follows that it ought to be less expensive for the employee. Hmmm Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

Some of my best chidhood memroies revolve around the space program. Even though this was the pinnacle I actually remember the Christmas Eve Apollo 8 broadcast, the first time we went to the moon more clearly. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

Funny that you miss the entire point. His swipe was telling small business owners that they didn't build their small business. Or that they didn't build the roads and the bridges. Has nothing to do with whether he wants to raise their taxes or not. He could have told them he wanted to lower their tax rates. But that's not what he said either. So if it wasn't unchoreographed then he knew exactly what he was doing...class warfare. Either way it will probably go down in history with George's glance at his watch and Lloyd Benson's "Senator, you're no Jack Kennedy". I know it pains you to see your messiah with that big size 13 in his mouth. Not to worry...you've only got a few more months to look at it. Thanks for the gift Barry. Please don't dent the planet. I think the point here is Obama targeted the wrong individuals. He took an unchoreographed swipe at small biz and it bit back by exposing him for who he really is..."social justice anti-capitalist". http://foxnewsinsider.com/2012/07/19/talking-points-memo-the-real-barack-obama-finally-stands-up/ Please don't dent the planet. "Re-investing" and "building the business" entail spending those dollars on deductible expenses, thereby reducing the taxable profits. Sure, some capital purchases will have to be scheduled out, but a significant chunk of such expenses can be Section 179'd out of a young company's ledger. Blues, Dave True, however if you are an accrual accounting customer sometimes you get a tax bill on money you haven't received yet, more pointedly if you sell goods and services on time. But that's not typical at all. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

I wonder how well Apple would have done if Jobs had been born and raised in Somalia, Niger or Sierra Leone. The main difference I see with your line of thinking is the government risks nothing. They produce nothing. All they really do is spend and collect other people's money. When an individual decides to start his/her own business they are risking everything they have. To devalue that risk and equate it as equal to what the government has done is wrong. The line is starting to blur as to whether the government works for us or we work for the government.
