I took the mount off to paint the backbone underneath it. I'm only going to put four three inch welds on each side to attach the mount. So I'm thinking of the water that might get under there. But the bigger question has to be; What are you doing on the internet watching paint dry? NickD

Before welding the fatbob mounts to the backbone I wanted to lay on some paint as this area won't be sealed against the elements. So I scuffed it up, masked it off, and used a brush to apply primer and black paint. No need to spray as it won't be visible . . . NickD

I'd like to hear the eye witness reports . . . "It was sitting at the light then it burst into flames!" "It burst into flames then stopped at the light!" LOL . . . (Sorry about your car, man!) NickD

I always shudder when I consider how many poor schmucks in the last fifty years got the electric chair on the basis of eye witness testimony. You see how fallible it is all the time, especially when various layman describe the same aviation accident. "It hit the ground then burst into flames!" "It came down in flames then hit the ground!" "It burst into flames then did a loop de loop!" "It did a loop de loop then burst into flames!" You even see it at the DZ sometimes . . . "He chopped it at a grand and fought it all the way in!" "He chopped it at 500-feet and flailed the rest of the way!" NickD

Old Joe's laying down the law! "Marijuana is the fire, heroin is the fuse, and LSD is the bomb!" LOL . . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Twre6ItGEI&feature=player_embedded NickD

I know more than some that Oscar means little. One night at work we were called to the house of a male with shortness of breath in Hollywood. We found a guy who was wasting away and probably weighed 70 pounds. On a table, not far from his bed, were seven Oscars statues. I had to look at them twice as I wasn't sure they were real. But they were. I can't say who he was (Hipaa Laws) but he died anyway. . . NickD

Ben Stiller? Has he ever done anything remotely funny? Even that makeup couldn't save him! Totally Nuevoe weak . . . NickD

Still trying to string a few days of warm WX together for paint, but in the meantime I welded on all the brackets and bungs I needed on Nina's frame. Here's the bracket I fabbed up to hang the oil tank from. It's just spot welded now as the oil tank is a tight fit above the starter and I'll most likely need to move it around some . . . NickD

Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick) is still looking good. You'd think after all these years he'd actually be looking like Abe Froman, the Sausage King of Chicago . . . NickD

Dougie should have quit while he was ahead, he's no Liza Minnelli . . . NickD

Okay, I totally have it handicapped . . . Avatar will get skunked! (Didn't see it.) But Marlon Brando or Lawrence Olivia didn't need clay make up to act. Jeff Bridges will win "Best Actor" and not because of his current movie (didn't see it) but for "The Big Lebowski" from 1998. But it will actually be a posthumous award he'll share with his dad, Lloyd Bridges. To newbs it won't be for his dad's, "I picked a bad week to stop sniffing glue," in the movie "Airplane" but for "Sea Hunt!" Other than that newcomer Gabourey Sidibe is going to clean up for "Precious." NickD

US facing surge in rightwing extremists and militias
NickDG replied to dreamdancer's topic in Speakers Corner
Saw a headline about student protests at Berkley and thought, finally, college students are getting a social conscious about the war, about neglecting our needy, about FOX News maybe, but no, when I read the article they were just protesting against higher tuition fees. Where's the Black Panthers and Weatherman when you need them. Where's this generation's Mohamed Ali, "I'm a black man with no beef against the yellow man." (I suppose his taking the name "Mohamed" would frighten today's tea baggers to death.) Where's our new John Lennon? Where's the new left wing radicals? The Bumblicans not being capable of original thought or deed are hijacking our revolution! NickD -

I think Obama is including the cost of the two wars Bush Zero started (and hid the price of). So "inherited" comes to mind . . . NickD
