I feel for you, Scott. It's always hard to lose a companion, especially a long-time one like Ben. I do think that your vet really rocks though by coming to your place and letting Ben be comfortable in his last moments. I'd have given a lot to have that done when we had to say goodbye our beagle; that was 12 years ago and still hurts. Sounds like Ben had a good friend in you. As my continuing effort in the of solicitation for funds for the tent at WFFC 2004, I offer the following information/update: We will be across the road from Drop Zone Row, across the little road from the Alabama Gang, in a 60' x 30' tent, the same size Mirage had last year. Those of you who were at the first convention in Rantoul will be familiar with the location as it is where we were that year except we will be in a tent three times as large as we had then. Primo location. This tent costs $795 and we will need funds to purchase chairs/couches/etc to make our little home away from home a home. I will be begging until we get enough contributions to cover the tent (just like last year) then I will shut up and leave you in peace. As of this posting, I have received approximately 1/3 of what we need. A good start but I need your help to put this issue to bed. Come play with us in Rantoul and NO, you do NOT need to contribute to the tent to use it, it is being provided for all dotcommers to have a place to meet and hang. I know I said I wasn't going to post names and in general I won't but I feel the following people need to be recognized: Dustin19d, Omrimon, and Lindsey as they are not going to be able to attend the convention yet have kicked down contributions so the rest of us will have a place to gather and have fun.
