    Word 2002

I decided to reformat my hard drive and reloaded all my software. Only to discover that throwing away all those original cases in favor of a little organizer thingy wasn't such a great idea. The product key is on the back. Is there anyone out there that can help me with this?
  2. Liz, the 4 way with Nina was one of my favorite jumps of the boogie as well! Thanks again for that awesome skydive!
  3. You got another cute little rig? Congrats! Do I even want to know what sized canopy you're putting in that?
  4. I too can't say enough about their customer service. I e-mailed them with a problem and within twenty minutes had a response asking me for my address so they could send out a package addressing the problem. I was hoping for a discount, but didn't expect anything free of charge. They were fantastic and I can't recommend them strongly enough to anyone considering buying an audible and electronic logbook. Thanks!
  5. I'm leaving for Montana tomorrow and am bummed that I'm going to be missing this great weather in Colorado that means I could be jumping...why did I buy myself a plane ticket for a Saturday?
  6. Neither do I. That's why I want the lyrics!
  7. I heard a song on the radio yesterday called My Give A Damn's Busted by Jo Dee Messina. However, apparently it's so new that I can't even find lyrics on Google. Does anyone have them by any chance?
  8. I thought long and hard about my second tat. My first one is very meaningful to me and represents my life philosophies. Then, I started skydiving. I saw this necklace that had a Goddess with her hands in the sky and her feet on the ground. That is what I got. With a closing pin on either side. Even if I never jumped again (like that is going to happen) I will forever be part of two worlds. One at altitude and one down here. It seeemed appropriate. Don't know how to do clickies, sorry, but here's a picture of the image I have. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1523&item=5536382221&rd=1#ebayphotohosting
  9. I hated it so deperately that I finally dropped it and will take it again in the fall in person. For me, what I enjoy most about an academic enviornment is the interaction. I believe I have as much to learn from my peers as my instructor. (However, I'm in a graduate program for people who have been working in the field for some time). There was a great deal more reading than face-to-face courses and the lack of discussion of said readings made tthem pretty meaningless to me. I wanted to be able to apply them. Also, if anything goes crazy with your internet connection, even for a few days, you are screwed. Just my 2 cents.
  10. I've got four to share as well. Just PM me and I'll send you the invite.
  11. That'd be it. You are so much more talented than I am...posting links is beyond me.
  12. I like that one a lot. I also really like the eye with the skull behind it. Somehow not creepy, even though it should be.
  13. Thanks. I would have done that, but didn't know how. I love dropzone.com. Such a variety of interests and backgrounds, I knew that someone here would know what it was.
  14. Somewhere on the wonderful web, I once found a great piece of art. It was a face unraveling. It was primarily a red brickish color. Does anyone know the name of the piece or the artist? I'm trying to find it again and having no luck.
  15. Jeremy, Congrats on the baby! You ever coming out to see us again? Mel
  16. In honor of my lousy month, here's my current favorite. Falling Apart One fragile puzzel piece Leaves the table, hits the ground. No one's there to see it, And it doesn't make a sound. The spider's web from centre grows, A brittle crack does crawl, It would only take a gentle tap, All shattered pieces then would fall. A window now created Where once the broken piece did lie Shows the crimson, bleeding skin Threatening to die. Tears welling never falling, Puzzle holding them in place. A myriad of mended tiles, Conceal fractured, splintered face. Invisible is safe they say, No one can see your pain. Hide behind the tattered mask, The tear marred skin you've stained. Gather up those pieces now, And bond them back once more. Wall back those tears that threaten hot To burn their mask upon the floor.
  17. We built one a month ago at my dropzone while it was raining. Seems to be a common use of skydiver, bad weather time.

    Make a wish

I wish I could go home! (My car is broken and has been for a week. I'm living with friends closer to work).
  19. I third the home thought. My car has been down for a week now, and I've been staying with friends who are closer to work. I miss my kitties. It's not to much to want to go 30 miles.
  20. Hey, sending good vibes your way. You're right, though, if you'd have stayed with us, none of this would be happening! :) I'll be thinking of you. Stay safe. Mel

    GMail

I have some g-mail invites as well if anyone wants them.....
  22. I don't know much about either, but after Talonsky's post, I e-mailed the makers of Protrack. I borrowed a friend's helmet on a jump and lost his Protrack. Within half an hour, I had a response. They will replace his Protrack since the bracket broke. Talk about amazing customer service!
  23. I received a yearly evaluation that had all positives and in the "Things to Work On" area my boss printed, "nothing at this time." At that point, he proceeded to tell me that he understood what it was like to be reltaively young and free, but that he didn't believe a time consuming hobby such as skydiving and teaching were compatible. He felt I should focus on my career and school (I'm also a full time grad student) and that at this time, he fel that I should give up skydiving for more important things. I just stared at him without being sure how to respond. Never once has jumping interferred with my job (I get done at 2:30 anyway, so if I really want to jump on a workday, I just drive the 20 minutes after work). My evaluation was flawless. Apparently, the outside wuffo world would assume that you can't successfully skydive and have a career. Just my 2 cents.
  24. Kaelynn, Sorry to hear your ankle's fractured...I can sympathize. We miss you. Mel
