So, you see marriage as a competition. I see marriage as a partnership requiring wisdom to perfect and sustain. As everyone knows, wisdom comes from making bad decisions. Everyone is qualified to have an opinion. Everyone else is encouraged to consider a person's reputation when evaluating that opinion. Think whatever you want, but Milli Vanilli should not give vocal lessons, Kirstie Alley should not pontificate on maintaining a stable, healthy weight, and triple/quadruple divorcees will probably make better researchers of good marriage habits than teachers. Blues, Dave I disagree with your position. I believe you lack understanding of what defending marriage means. It would seem you don't consider experience of any value. That's OK. Rob Reiner applauded for comparing Tea Party to Nazis

I am amused by the way you take isolated incidents and try spread them to everyone you do not agree with. That's OK, it is typical liberal strategy. Will I go to counseling? I might but, right now I do not need to rent a friend, basically what counseling is. I have friends who share my values and we move around the country sharing with other like minded patriots. I don't have to sell my view. I just team up. BTW, from a mental health point of view, rational decisions are universal and unique to the thinker. Rational means I need to justify my position to myself. Mentally healthy people think rationally and decide emotionally. It takes both factors. Your difficulty is that your rationality does not fit my reality. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Since the Tea Party is an unorganized movement I can only speak for myself. I support the military. I believe the poor have programs in place to provide assistance. We don't need more of them. If more programs are necessary I would prefer to see them come from charitable contributions not taxes. I fear BHO because I see him as a modern day representative of the enemy I joined the military to stand against and fight if necessary. Therefore, I am angry with his position and power. I do not accept his political philosophy, his supporters, his mentors or his character as good for America. He is not a leader and basically he can't move the ball down the field. OMG! My first marriage ended because of sin and ignorance. I take full responsibility for its failure. My second marriage was Christian based and I applied Biblical standards. My wife did not. She left because she did not like living in FL and moved back to CA. My third marriage is Christian based and we both apply Biblical standards. We just celebrated 17 years together. Am I a disqualified defender of Biblical marriage, in your opinion? Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Do you mean to say that divorce and substance use disorder should carry a life long stigma? I never believed that for recovering alcoholics, just active ones. four failed marriages should exclude anyone from being taken seriously when it comes to "In defense of marriage" I don't know the status of his "recovery" but, his website does not indicate abstinence. I'm on my third marriage and I believe in and defend the institution of marriage. Do you believe I should be disqualified for my stand? Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. Four failed marriages and a degenerate alcoholic, I bet he's also a "in defense of marriage" type of guy too. We aren't scared, we're angry. Get used to it. In mental health counseling, fear and anger are synonymous terms and run together. To deal with one issue requires examining the other as well. Wow! Hank Jr. is a beloved character over here on the right side. My sincere condolences to you and your family for your loss. Is skydiving that addicting? In my 48 years in the sport I have seen many marriages fall apart with skydiving as part of the root cause. Any high risk activity where adrenalin increase is normal can be as addictive as cocaine or amphetamine. When I was a tandem instructor my adrenalin jolt would wear off in about 72 hours and I would crave a jump. Cravings, for me, were intrusive thoughts that replaced other thought processes. I recommend joint marital counseling for you and your husband to sort this conflict out. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. Completely false. 95% occurs after the age of 65, less that 1% before the age of 50. http://www.alz.org/alzheimers_disease_what_is_alzheimers.asp I got my info from the ARNP that treated my mother the last two years. I am not completely wrong. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.

You are a remarkable in that you want to hold Gov Perry accountable for his absence for everything that happens in TX. However, you have no comment on BHO's absence during critical times in the nation. Intellectual elite exhibits a consistent meaning every time. Maybe. Alzheimer's is mostly a disease of the old, so when life expectancies were less, it wasn't so common. Alzheimer's is considered early onset, 40 - 60 years of age. There are other forms of dementia. Senile, cardiovascular, vascular, etc. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Such a caring Christian. Since this is a kind of death does that mean euthanasia is okay for alzheimer's patients? You missed the point. The options were adultery or divorce. The latter is the better choice. The better choice would be not to commit adultery and take care his ailing wife. You know, til death do us part. How would you choose if your wife had Alzheimer's? It seems our discussion parameters keep expanding to take in another what if. My position is based on an uninsured Pt with a negative prognosis but not a terminal Dx. I maintain he took a risk by not purchasing insurance that he could have afforded and he is ultimately responsible. When my mother went into long term care she had a negative prognosis. Her Dx was vascular dementia and heart disease. I prayed that the Lord would take her home. It took over two years and the last couple of months I don't think she always recognized me and in the end I doubt if she knew her name. She developed dysphasia and could not communicate. Her advance directive, recorded in 1982 or so, was for no life support only comfort measures and DNR. She understood that when the time comes, just go. It took much much longer than we expected but it was in God's timing. The thing that confuses me so much is, we had/have a medical system that was/is working. Why do/did we need Obamacare? BTW, I think the exorcism is funny. I love gallows humor. Had I been there, I would have backed you up. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. Issues the orders or does it it himself? I can tell you that know one I know would do it. Disconnecting a terminal Pt is difficult enough, let alone some with a good prognosis but no insurance. I don't know what was happening in the seventies, but I doubt people were refused ER care. I know for a fact that if you were in a situation like that in the nineties, care would have never been refused. In all honesty, you may have been gambling, but with not nearly the same stakes as the tea baggers propose. When ever I think Christianity may have the smallest redeeming quality, i'm proven wrong. So the next time I hear a request for a prayer to heel the sick, I should remind them that the Jesus does not care about the physical death of a person. I always thought a Christian tried his best to live a Christ like life, Why would a Christian care about the physical possessions of this life when an eternity with God awaits those are truly Christ like? No part of living a Christ like life would lend it self to disconnecting someone's child, parent, or sibling from a ventilator. nonsense. My point exactly, the hypothetical situation presented to Ron Paul is not a reality. ER care would cover the uninsured. The Paul question concerned an uninsured Pt with a negative prognosis for recovery but not a terminal Dx. It is my understanding that Obamacare would not pay for extended Tx or life support. It would not be economically feasible. Managed care would indicate termination. Honestly, since you believe that Christianity has no redeeming nature, I would suggest that you not enter into the private prayer matters of the Pt or the family. When I pray for a Pt, I pray "in God's will" and usually focus on "strength and comfort guided by the Holy Spirit" for the Pt and the family. Bear in mind that for a Christian, death is the ultimate healing. Again, the Bible is not a tech manual. You must have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit to understand and apply Scripture adequately. Application is not consistent in every situation. It depends on the faith of the believer. Maybe I do not understand triage. I thought it meant to provide care to the most viable Pt first.
