  1. Most everyone does to some extent...I just choose not to go as far as to thwart the human experience by limiting myself to the constraints science can impose. Life is too large to fit under a microscope...we are not 100% logically rational automatons and I see absolutely no reason to live like one... As a coworker of mine once said, "Some people will fight for their limitations." Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.
  2. And, you are right on. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.
  3. Well, now there's a point on which I agree.
  4. The problem you have is that you can't except the fact that I don't care what you base you life on or what you think. We are different. Read the Gestalt Prayer by Fritz Perls. That's nice, but when you claim that what you believe is real and true then I will ask for evidence to support your claims. As I have stated many, many times for your benefit, my evidence is personal and I am sharing testimony. So, just to be perfectly clear in the future, any redundant inquiries from you will be not be granted a reply. However, feel free to ask me something else. I may or may not respond. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.

  6. They are based in spirituality. There is nothing to even suggest that spirituality exists. I believe that for you it is 100% true. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.
  7. That has been my message since Apr 09. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.

  9. Reality is overrated. Many people relapse (think Greatful Dead ca. 1991) when they come to the realization that the reality they sought to escape chemically does, in fact, blow. "Faith" is touted as a mechanism by which one can belay the destructive pattern of reality-avoidance; this may take the form of a system of belief (take your pick), but it may manifest itself as simply faith that one can endure nasty realities without falling victim to them. Ron adheres the the belief-based form of faith, I take the skeptic's route. Whatever works. The bottom line is that, whatever are our differences, neither of us drink or do drugs, we are both committed to the quality of life of those around us, and we are at peace with our fate. What is often lost is that I do not take exception to his choices, nor do I pity or feel sad for him. I only rise to the bait when someone says "this is true" without qualification. I am totally cool with someone saying "I believe this and it makes me happy." I do not think that Ron's beliefs are borne out in reality, but I also do not think that what Ron or I believe or don't believe has any impact whatsoever on what is or is not true. My issue is semantic (semantics being the study of meaning), and I have no expectation that anyone will come around to my way of thinking. I noticed long ago that what is glaringly obvious to me is largely incomprehensible to most people; this is, of course, why I am valuable in my chosen profession. Anyhow, feel free to critique the message but not the messanger. Ron is a mensch. BSBD, Winsor Very well stated. And, thank you. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. 12. It is called being convicted. The Christian believer realizes he is a sinner condemned to spiritual death and that only God can save him. The path to God is through Jesus Christ's death on the cross. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. 13. What you say makes perfect sense to me. It was the attitude of the parachutists back in the 60's. We were a cut above, so we thought, because we were risk takers that knew the score. An old saying in the Tampa Sky Divers, "Ya pays your money and ya takes your chances." Now trust funds and entitlement mentality have turned sport parachuting into skydiving where most believe they deserve a free ride. I saw the change when it was no longer cool to log your jumps. Earned achievement lost value. "Yeah, I got a 1000 jumps and did all that shit. Just give me D License." So now they live on the DZ, getting free jumps for just about everything they do for and with the student or young jumper. Then, they get sick or seriously hurt and, "Wah, the government won't take care of me. Wah, it's not fair." Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. 14. And neither do you. You seem bitter and insecure (and maybe even scared) to me, clinging on to some mantras and some claims about yourself. Claims that don't show in your posts. Well, to be fair, Muslims don't count - so there's no need for kindness, goodness, gentleness, or self-control in that scenario. Ron has made that abundantly clear. I'll admit, I have a bit of problem with the ones that have vowed to kill me, my family and destroy my country. I'm just trying to establish a safe family enclave in the mountains. I believe Skyrad is a Muslim and seems to be a decent person. Back in the late 80's I jumped with a Muslim, Ali Karbaliasghar. He was an Iranian that fought against the Iraqi's. He seemed real friendly. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.

  16. John, your smart-ass attack posts are getting rather tiresome. It does not become you. Come up with something intelligent once in a while, eh? Meh, I just got under his skin the other day so "I had it coming." It's just a game...I equate it to two chipmunks chasing each other up and down a tree. During the praise and worship in church this AM I became focused on the hurt, anger, sorrow, fear, etc in the souls of those folks. They sit alone in a shallow pool and strongly resent those of us who frolic together in the deep end. They know that we collectively know something. They know they can't sense it or have it in their present state of mind. Tears swelled in my eyes. I used to be just like them. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. 17. And you guys don't think ACA is a boon to the lawyers. . I don't think the assholes of the world should dictate good social policy. Apparently you do. Please define "asshole" in this sense. How does that definition apply to me? Why did you snip a major portion of my statement? Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. 18. IQ = 70 is 2 standard devs. from the mean. In the old days, "moron" was applied to people with an IQ of 51-70 Hmmm, I understand that. Do you think it is possible for a "moron" to obtain a graduate degree from an accredited state university? Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. 19. And you guys don't think ACA is a boon to the lawyers. Give me a break. This law puts ambulance chasing on the super highway. Injury and liability will be redefined in many, many ways. 20. lmao...you're really confused aren't you? Fuck Einstein... I posted that quote from my iGoogle home page just the amuse myself with the heathen reaction. Have you ever noticed that all the really smart people here have plenty to say to negate our faith and belief but, they never have anything to share about themselves? They come across, to me anyway, as imitation people. They are just examples of the enemy in cyberspace. They just don't have much to say regarding love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness or self-control. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. 21. Thank you for your learned response. I know by your articulation you have several IQ points over me. I have only been estimated as two standard deviations from the mean. I am not sure what that means. I too remember listening to the Lone Ranger. In my case with my grandmother, a real pioneer woman of her age. She loved to drink, smoke, cuss and fight but, I digress. I remember my younger years being taught to compartmentalize my thoughts as an organizational tool. And now, despite the blessings in my life that have materialized without my forethought or planning, I read your passage of wisdom and realize, I can be like you and have nothing to live for. I am just one of the fringe people barking in the madness. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. 24. That makes no sense. Are you sure you understood what they were reporting? Can you provide a link? It was a recap through huluplus on my DSL TV link. The panel was discussing the lack of legal employment because law firms and corporations were uncertain about their future medical insurance costs. Now they know. My take is that lawsuits regarding ACA will flock like seagulls to tourists on the beach with bags of popcorn. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. 25. And, most people who humble themselves at the foot of the cross of Christ and, those who invite Him to come into their heart find reason and experience to confirm His existence. It is just a matter of choice. If you are smart enough and brave enough why ask for help? I for one, as well as several others posting here, know we need help. Sanity in an asylum is not an asset. In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is not a king - he is a paraiah. Certainly true in the SC. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit.
