  1. Remember, old men are not in good shape to fight or run. They'll just shoot you. If an old man has a gun he probably knows how to use it. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.
  2. Just my lame attempt at humor. I've been up in the north GA mountains for over a month. The difference in lifestyles makes everything seem silly down here. Cheer up, the Republicans are coming to town. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.
  3. Once again we find proof for Darwinian evolution. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.
  4. Posting factual information that conflicts with the belief systems of the dumb fucks that are Right Wing Conservatives is a waste of time. There is no amount of factual information that will cause any change in their belief structure. This mental illness is much like the so called "christians" who quote the bible in support of their beliefs. They pick and choose little bits from here and there to support their previously established beliefs, while ignoring the the bits that are 100% the opposite of what their beliefs are. When the obvious stuff is pointed out, like the rules for handling slaves, and the sale of female children, they always say "We don't believe in or use those parts of the bible any more". Funny how that works, isn't it. It totally exposes the lies upon which the belief system is built. Bottom line, we cannot afford to re-elect BHO. 5. Yep, that's BHO. That's what politics has become. We're basically screwed. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.
  6. Obama gives himself control of all communication systems in America http://rt.com/usa/news/obama-president-order-communications-770/ Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.
  7. Apparently, the Left BHO Bunch would like me to be more concerned about what Romney does with his money than Obama is doing with mine. BHO gotta go! Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.

  10. Maybe it's zoning issue! Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.
  11. I just don't know to say. Based on the statement from the city official the key words were "continuous meeting" and "zoning." Bottom line he pissed off some liberal atheist with political pull somewhere sometime. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. 12. There is the crux of the whole sociological/Christian debate and disagreement. When does orientation toward anything not involve a behavior choice? Simply having the orientation is not, in and of itself, a behavior choice. But yeah, technically, an orientation toward anything will likely be followed by a behavior choice. But the majority of people in the fields of medicine, psychology, psychiatry, etc., do not view homosexual behavior as a behavior choice that requires therapy. The Christian part of the debate is only important if the individuals involved are (by choice) Christian and seeking a Christian answer. Once again your wisdom so often recognized by Coreece shines brightly. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. 14. Well, except for that whole big field of behavior therapy. I guess I was not clear. I was referring to the choice aspect. Behavior therapy works when the client chooses to change. The point of the article as I understood was that homosexuals do not choose to change. And, I agree, few do. For those that do choose to change, behavior therapies apply, Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. 15. You're perpetuating 2 myths in a single post. Bravo. Wow! You got me on that one, please explain. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.
  16. Wow! How many of them? Reading your post, I fully agree with you. It's my impression, there is more than just one sphere you're posting in .... Not everybody's designed to follow those paths, old fellow. How about some illumination? Think in terms of a spiritual world. If the Christian reference is repulsive think in terms of the artist's or the Buddhist's world. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. 18. Let's go back to the beginning of yours and other's current replies. Do you understand the difference between affect and effect? 19. Maybe it is your lame-ass reading. I write and speak from more than one sphere of consciousness. I apologize for not communicating well on your level. 23. It is very clear that you can make no sense of science. Your reason, however, is completely invalid since you have to be using the products of science on a daily basis since your ability to post here shows that you are not a hermit living in the wilderness. I strongly suspect that you have: Electricity A motor vehicle Clean water supply Use of gas/oil Use of semiconductors Use of piezo-electrics, ferroelectrics and ferromagnetics Communication services High strength materials If you really skydive, aircraft and the list goes on and on. Of course it is not valid. I live a spiritual world. Your above list are things I just accept. I trust the Lord to show me how to use them that's all they mean to me. The quality of my life is not defined by them. Useful as they are, they are not mandatory. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. 24. It works in all areas of life. Denial of sin provides comfort. I thought about this for a while, this makes absolutely no sense in this context whatsoever.... Where do you find sin ? It is described in the one book you dare not read. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.
  25. Perhaps the next time you ride your motorcycle, you can reflect on the scientific minds who made such a thing possible. Assuming that riding affects your life in a positive way? You don't have to give up the Bible to appreciate science. And if you're not interested in science, there is no reason to waste your time trying to understand it. But if you stop to think about it, there are probably a lot of things that make your life more enjoyable or more comfortable, which are a result of the work of those who did choose to study science/math, etc. (And I think most of those people are studying it because they enjoy it, not because they're trying to disprove "God," or anything along those lines.) I know you've mentioned the DSM-IV a few times, which I assume you used when you worked in the field? This was largely put together by scientific-type people. Does it also make "little to no sense" to you? Do you think that people who study psychology/psychiatry can be of help to others who are dealing with life problems? Motorcycle riding is like sport parachuting. When fully engaged my mind is aware of my environment. It is not on the scientific engineering that made my ride or my skydive possible. The DSM-IV was compiled by Licensed Clinical Social Workers. The purpose was to develop a common base for diagnosis and billing. It says nothing about administration of treatment. Do I think psychologists, psychotherapists, psychiatrists can be of help to people dealing with life problems? Of course I do. I don't understand how you could have thought otherwise. I know that I incorrectly assume that anyone who attacks or criticizes me has read every single one of my posts. I assure you, when it comes to counseling all doors are viable. I am an eclectic counselor. I prefer Christian based pastoral type counseling. Now that I am retired I can pursue that path with more vigor. And, my clients are primarily Christian.
