Comprehensive Pro-Gun Bill Georgia Law 23 Apr 14

Yep, I doubt if I have the balls to tell a cop I'm not carrying when I am. Seems like a guaranteed trip to jail while the legalities are sorted out. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them. -

So you admit to carrying illegally I was told by one of the pastors in my church during my membership conference that the services had self appointed security personnel attending. A friend of mine, retired LEO, told me the key word is concealed. I was told by my concealed weapons instructor not to reveal my weapon to anyone including LEOs. If the LEO discovers it during a pat down then produce the permit and proper ID. GA and FL have agreements of reciprocity. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. At our last gun club meeting our state representative and a local sheriff agreed, that is our next legislative goal. Only if the requirements for attaining said permits are common across all states. It is my understanding that agreements of reciprocity are a separate issue. Example, if I have a concealed permit in one state and I am travelling to another state with an agreement of reciprocity, why should I be restricted from travelling across a state without such an agreement? Another point, GA is not overwhelmed with accidental shootings. The Alzheimer's case is tragic but it is an isolated case. As a conservative Libertarian, I see absolutely no reason to make broad sweeping laws to cover isolated incidents/accidents. In my area HB60 changes nothing except that we can legally carry in areas where we were already carrying. The key word being concealed. In other words, if you weren't paranoid about being in GA before, there is no reason to be paranoid now. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. One particular aspect of HB 60 that I liked is, after 1 July concealed carry is permitted in church and in bars. The church has to opt in and the bar has to opt out. Ya Just like all the other states Your predictions will fail miserably (just like the AGW alarmists) Fun huh...... What is the death toll so far in Florida since the enactment of Stand your ground after instigating an incident... seems like open season on people of color.. but since Florida is the home of the Rosewood Massacre.... It is just tradition. FL Gov Scott announced 23 Apr that the crime rate has dropped 4.7%. Many factors account for the drop. Might SYG be one of them? Black homicide is generally committed by another black known by the victim, not a white person defending themself by SYG. The state with the highest rate of black homicide is surprisingly NE. http://www.vpc.org/studies/blackhomicide14.pdf Rosewood is a pitiful reach. No one in FL talks about it because it has no bearing on present day living. At any rate, here in GA concealed carry is better defined. We have been an open carry state for some time. Georgia: Governor Signs Comprehensive Pro-Gun Bill into Law Today, Governor Nathan Deal (R) signed into law House Bill 60, the most comprehensive pro-gun legislation in state history. HB 60 passed in the Georgia Senate by a 37-18 vote on March 18 and in the state House of Representatives by a 112-58 vote on March 20. HB 60 will take effect on July 1, 2014. HB 60 enacts the following pro-gun reforms for all law-abiding gun owners in Georgia: Removes fingerprinting for renewal of Weapons Carry Licenses (WCL). Prohibits the state from creating and maintaining a database of WCL holders. Creates an absolute defense for the legal use of deadly force in the face of a violent attack. Lowers the age to obtain a concealed WCL for self-defense from 21 to 18 for active duty military, with specific training. Allows for the use of firearm sound suppressors while hunting. Repeals the unnecessary and duplicative state-required license for a firearms dealer, instead requiring only a Federal Firearms License (FFL). Prohibits a ban on firearms in public housing, ensuring that the right to self-defense should not be infringed based on where one calls home. Codifies the ability to legally carry, with a WCL, in sterile/non-secure areas of airports. Requires reporting of those persons who have been involuntarily hospitalized or have been adjudicated mentally deficient to the NICS system while also providing the ability for relief through an application process to the court system allowing for restoration of gun rights. Protects the Second Amendment rights of all law-abiding gun owners from being restricted or infringed by executive authority under a declared state of emergency. Strengthens current firearms preemption statutes through further clarification of the regulatory authority of local governments, excluding firearm discharge ordinances. Removes the sweeping restrictions on legally carrying a firearm with a WCL in bars, leaving this decision to private property owners. Allows for churches to opt-in for legal carry with only a civil penalty of a $100 if a person happens to carry into a prohibited church unknowingly. We thank NRA members, Second Amendment supporters, Georgia legislators and Governor Deal for their commitment to the passage and enactment of HB 60. The signing of House Bill 60 into law is the culmination of a very successful legislative session and provides law-abiding citizens of Georgia with a much-needed comprehensive pro-gun law. No, it's exactly the same thing - people wanting freebies. In this case, he's taken over a million dollars worth in the past 20 years, while a welfare queen might only get 200k in that time. He could argue that up till the law change or the court orders, there was uncertainty, but since then he's been sucking on the government teat. OK, I see your point now. And the same for Amazon. Yes, this Bundy affair resulted in a large number of posters here who now have no business complaining about welfare queens for the foreseeable future. Uh that is SOOO not going to happen The posters here who ascribe to all the tenants of the Teanderthal Party are incapable of exhibiting that amount of rationality. There is no rationality in your premise. It is a juxtaposition of concepts. One concept is the fraudulent use of tax dollars by sucking welfare. The other is the refusal to provide tax dollars for fraudulent use. Kelpdiver missed it also. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. I disagree. If he really is a tax cheat, is he avoiding or evading the tax? The former is legal while the latter is not. At any rate, if he is being glorified it is by people who hate all taxation. In this case, taxation to unnecessarily protect a tortoise. IMO, he is being glorified for taking a stand against the abuse of power by the federal government. They won their case on appeal. Armed BLM thugs were not required to enforce the federal position. Just to be clear, I do not like the EPA, the BLM or the Sierra Club. I understand that some form of taxation is required. "Fighting against homosexuality???" To thine own self be true. If something trips your trigger, go for it (assuming it is adult homo sapiens). Most of the people I know who had to stifle gay urges eventually came to grips with the fact that they were gay. Big deal. Often there would have been a marriage to reassure themselves that they were 'normal,' since, as one of them put it, "nobody wants to be a paraiah." I know this may come as a shock, but from what I understand it is pretty well hard-wired. A truly straight guy can be in a locker room with all sorts of naked, buff studs and it is a complete non-issue. However, the mere scent of the pheromones of a sexually primed female will trigger increased pulse, salivation and the beginnings of all kinds of physiological responses. Mind you, this has nothing to do with value judgments, morals, social norms and the like. Gay and straight is not a matter of 'better or worse,' and I question the motivation of anyone who cares all that much one way or another. Even though a woman is completely off the menu, I am acutely aware if she is sexually attractive or not. Guys, however, elicit a dial tone across the board. YMMV. BSBD, Winsor Sometimes I develop a similar reaction when I see a bottle of tequila. Fortunately, I have learned to turn off the desire and focus on other behavior. I realize that not everyone has the victory. Most of my paternal family did not. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Judge Napolitano Explains How the Government Snatched ‘Defeat Out of the Jaws of Victory’ on Nevada Rancher Case Apr. 18, 2014 9:00pm Erica Ritz http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/04/18/judge-napolitano-explains-how-the-government-snatched-defeat-out-of-the-jaws-of-victory-on-nevada-rancher-case/ Bottom line, the Feds blinked. Current theories seem to support that sexuality is fixed in utero and not as a result of cultural and social influences. (see David/Brenda Reimer and the Sambia tribe of Papua New Guinea) It also seems that all the "gay cures" have 0% effectiveness. If homosexuality was a life choice like drug and alcohol use, or smoking then yes, you could probably effectively use rehab techniques to "give up the behaviour" but as it seems to be linked to the androgen levels the fetus is exposed to during pregnancy there's no way it's going to work. That reads like an example of fighting for limitations. In other words, finding a justification for a bad decision. We are all born with the genetic makeup for bad behavior. It is called sin. Voters who participated in a Fox News poll and primed for that response. This is not a representative sample of voters in general. Then that is probably a good thing. Is that not clear? Not even vaguely. Then I refer you to the Gestalt Prayer mentioned earlier. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gestalt_prayer If THAT is what you believe in, then perhaps you might want to look at it yourself and stop passing judgements on other peoples "perversions." Please see dictionary entry for hypocrisy. I am not able to pass judgment on perversion but, I can tell you what the Bible has to say about it. Although, I must admit I am losing interest.
