  1. hey frank, Definately thanks again for coming down.. and to jackson, steve, jimbo and jens for helping out. It was an absolute blast... and i hope it shows that CRW isn't as dangerous as people make it out to be. I hope your camp goes well next weekend. I don't believe i will be able to make it... but i appreciate the invite. I'm thrilled that we got our 4-stack awards and i'll send you the pictures that i have by email. Thanks again for coming down... and to my new CRW pups: You guys were AWESOME!!! :) (Jen, Dawn, Eric, Matt) Em
  2. The plan right now is to do a 1hr CRW seminar for all interested saturday. Any 2-way CRW jumps that people want that day. 3 or 4-way scrambles on sunday. We are also planning on having a freefly organizer and coach. Spread the word! :)
  3. Last I heard, the plane was not destroyed. It sounded like from my DZO that the hanger was mostly destroyed and the trailers were completely gone but that the plane was Ok. I'll give a better update if I hear anything else. Gonna try to head to the DZ tomorrow after Charley passes us here in NC. No one was in the trailers or hurt from what i've heard. Best of luck to those down in Lake Wales. We still support you guys for collegiates this year.
  4. http://www.tsa.gov/public/display?content=090005198005b0f5&print=yes Here is the link to the letter from the TSA that says that rigs with and without AAD's are allowed to fly. I'm a little uncomfortable with the fact that it says they can unpack my rig but... I'd rather have it... so they know my rights... than not have it at all and them start pulling handles. Also attached is a copy of the cypress card that is supposed to be with your rig. I can't get the second page to attatch, but This is the xray of what your rig should look like with AAD installed.
  5. Hey, I'm trying to plan a college weekend/back to school boogie at my home DZ (carolina sky sports). I'm thinking 4-way scrambles (3 rounds). A basic CReW camp. The idea is a weekend of the sport as a whole. There will be RW and freefly organizers. If anyone has any imput on when.... i'm thinking maybe the last weekend in august... is that too close to rantoul? will everyone be burnt out and broke? or is that good to just keep that energy going?
  6. At my home DZ it is your responsibility to make sure that you don't have a mal. If that means that when you get a rental rig that you take it out and repack it... if you're that unconfident in the packers... then that's what you need to do. That may sound kinda harsh.. but it's reality. Our packers are awesome... If i gave them my rig and they packed a mal, i would expect to have to pay for it. A mal can be caused by many different things... and it cannot be determined where fault lies with 100% certainty. Body position has a lot to do with malfuctions on the smaller sport canopies that many are jumping. I'm a fairly young jumper and it would be costly to have to pay the $45... but if they didn't do a good job, then no one would use a packer. $5 is not a guarantee that it will open. That being said... I have not seen our packers pack a mal yet... and i'm highly confident in the job that they do.
