I am gonna do some calling around for somewhere to stay - we don't need anything fancy - but I really want it to be quiet. So may places that rent cabins seem to be more family oriented for kids and such. The last vacation we took in Wisconsin was a nightmare - the cabin we rented turned out to be like the Bates Motel in Pyscho. We couldn't turn around fast enough! Yikes!!! Since I have only three tandem jumps so far I won't be doing any jumping. Planning on going thru AFF at Skydive Chicago in summer but too much of a "rookie" to jump away from home!!! I'll keep in touch - love meeting fellow jumpers!!!! _______________________________________

Not sure yet, I was told Spring may be tricky with a lot of snow. I love all seasons, though. Probably mid June is what we are thinking of. I am really excited - I have been east noth and south of Chicago but never west of St. Louis. _______________________________________

Hubby and I are planning a vacation (first one in about 12 years). Estes Park Colorado was recommended to me by someone at work. We will be driving from Chicago, along with our dog. Anybody have any thoughts on the place? I was told it is a really picturesque - we are looking for the back to nature thing and need somewhere to stay that will let us have our pooch there (4 year old Border Collie, very well trained). It's so hard to plan to go somewhere without knowing firsthand about the place. I have hit the websites but was really hopeful for someone's personal observations. Also, any good DZ's along the way? A Christmas Cookie Recipe (worth your time) 1 cup of water 1 tsp baking soda 1 cup of sugar 1 tsp salt 1 cup of brown sugar lemon juice 4 large eggs 1 cup nuts 2 cups of dried fruit 1 bottle Jose Cuervo Tequilla Sample the Cuervo to check quality. Take a large bowl, check the Cuervo again, to be sure it is of the highest quality, pour one level cup and drink. Turn on the electric mixer...Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add one teaspoon of sugar...Beat again. At this point it's best to make sure the Cuervo is still OK, try another cup ... just in case. Turn off the mixerer thingy. Break 2 leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit, Pick the frigging fruit off floor... Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers just pry it loose with a drewscriver. Sample the Cuervo to check for tonsisticity. Next, sift two cups of salt, or something. Who giveshz a sheet. Check the Jose Cuervo. Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find. Greash the oven. Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over. Don't forget to beat off the turner. Finally, throw the bowl through the window, finish the Cose Juervo and make sure to put the stove in the dishwasher. CHERRY MISTMAS _______________________________________
