More likely than not they will not allow you to take things into the tunnel that can come off. I know it stays on in freefall but if it comes off in the tunnel it ruins a million+$ investment. Don't worry too much about alti awareness or loosing it in the tunnel I should clarify. Stay vigilant about it on your next jump and you'll be fine. Ari and I caught a flight out to Phoenix to spend some time at the monster of a tunnel SVAZ. When we arrive we are greeted by our friends and instructors Mick and Pun. I remember when they were both learning to fly the tunnel in Orlando for their training. All I can say is WOW, they are both flying & coaching like super stars! A special thanks to Amy and Jason for their hospitality. Ari and I had a blast watching them coach during their weekly AZTC tunnel sessions. If you get a chance, fly w. these kids they know they stuff and have a fantastic view/coaching style for improving your bodyflight. I was lucky enough to fly w. Mick and Tim the only 2 instructors working in the am the days we were there. Despite being short staffed, Tim and Mick were always willing to hop in for some 4 way fun. Our second day of flying Laura (blue suit) and Jim (black suit) joined us for some freeflying! Laura was rocking out hd and Jim was really improving his sit and back flying skills. He's turning into quite the tunnel rat, of course it would be hard to not have Larua's love of the tunnel rub off on you

If you fly the tunnel be prepared to loose most of the hair on your body. No wonder the instructors are hairless wonders I have almost no hair left on my fore arms and backs of my calves. If I had not seen this post w. good info regarding the tunnel, you were first on my list of people to call to see what was going on It was really strange and sad to hear someone say Perris closed today (last Friday). Still so glad it was just the rumor mill. It seemed a bit far fetched but hearing it from multiple people who I thought were in the know was unsettling. I haven't flown Perris yet, doesn't it know I have to fly it before it closes?!?

I love to get out and hit golf balls. I haven't played since my accident but I finally have my clubs in FL (not stuck in Ohio) and am close to all kinds of courses (now that I'm living in Orlando- The Omni (2 amazing courses) is right down the street and a friend has the hook up there so I'm stoaked).

There is a 6 foot something instructor at SVO who isn't skinny (but is losing weight and looking good), he can fly his body and is amazing. Maybe you know him if you've visited, it's my big teddy bear Eddy! I've flown w. heavy men who make me look like the amature I am. Eddy being only one of them. I've also had the pleasure of flying w. the owner of AAC, he's not big but he's no twig either. No doubt it is all personal preference. That's the best part about all the tunnels popping up

So no info on Perris? I can fly anything so the speeds don't mean all too much to me. If you are a good flyer you learn and adapt your flying style to suit your environment.
