Well, we know your friend is a piece of shit that probably needed the money really bad for something. That's lame as hell that he charged you for pizza, gas, etc. I'm sure you gave him back just as much if not more of those things over the years. Sometimes you gotta cut away all the bullshit in your life to make things better. I wish I could do that but I can't even get a hold of him. At least you have contact and can try to work things out if you want. I would suggest not and just cut your losses but its hard to say goodbye to friends who are that close to you. DUI's? Meaning plural? Didn't you think that might affect your status as an ambulance driver? Regardless, I can't believe someone didn't ask you or others in the class about that issue to save you money. Bitch at your teachers and ask why they left that requirement out of their lectures? Seems to me they would screen applicants better than that and let you know ahead of time before you wasted your money. Give 'em hell and try to get things going in your direction. Smoking at Ohio University is common, there isn't much to do besided drink and smoke. The college has a larger population than the city of Athens, so if you want a real town you have to drive 2 hrs. to Columbus. I know kids here smoke to relieve the stress of midterms, finals, work, death, and use it as an overall coping tool. Criticize as you may but for some of my friends, its saved their life in some situations. If they didn't smoke, they would have taken more drastic measure to harm themselves (implying the worst). For Spring Break I'm going to FL with osuskydiver. We fly by the seat of our pants or at least we will for this trip. If we go to a dz and like it, we'll stay and jump. If we don't, we'll just drive else where and jump. As far as planning trips to meet other people, I like to know a few details so I make sure no one is going to bitch out on me and I'm the only one there or something like that. Over planning used to be my thing but now I just don't want to worry about a schedule. I usually plan big events like concerts, comics, boogies, just to make sure I can get done the things I really want to; the rest doesn't matter to me. I've got 14 lbs. of weight I can strap on. I should have a rock solid sit in my tight fitting ff pants by the time we jump.
