I will agree, driving sucks here in Colorado Springs. The lights are way too long, so if you hit a red you are going to be waiting for a really long time. Also if a road has a median, don't expect to make any left hand turns except at a stop light. So you always end up driving a 1/2 mile past where you are trying to go to get to the next light so you can make a U-turn to get back to it. And people here dont know how to drive on the highway. If you do the speed limit on the highway you are going faster than 90% of the people on the road. And getting behind someone going 35 on the entrance ramp to the freeway is just annoying. I like going back to TX where people know how to drive B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'

Mountain Dew Flavors - Which is your favorite?
bmoore21184 replied to RkyMtnHigh's topic in The Bonfire
I have had all of them besides pitch black. Code Red is better than the original i think. That Baja crap is horrible! I went around having everyone taste it and we all agreed, Bad! But hey that is me. B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch' -
Does anyone know where I can get the pack volume for a pd 9 cell? I checked the PD website and didn't see it. I have a PD 170 and wanted to compare it to a Triathlon. I figure it would be less but I wanted to know by how much. Thanks a lot. B Moore Edited: I can't spell

100th Jump - What did you do?
bmoore21184 replied to pccoder's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I did a funneled 5 way RW dive. Spent the whole dive trying to recover from the exit. But hey it was fun none the less. It was the first time I had all my close jump friends on the same jump. The 101st went much better B Moore -

I was just reading up on the skyhook and something occurred to me that I didn't see anyone say. Maybe because it is obvious. If the skyhook system is used when you deploy your reserve and the main acts like a super pilot chute, then does your reserve PC and freebag stay attached to your main? Therefore when you go to retrieve them they will be attached to one another, i.e. in the same place? That sounds like another benefit to the skyhook (though not quite as important as its life-saving benefits) Just a thought I had. B Moore

When checking my reserve pin, i noticed the string connecting the reserve seal had broken. It is still attached but the 'loop' broke. Does this void the seal? Do i need to have it re-sealed, repacked, or am i fine the way it is? Thanks. B Moore

The two closest are Mile-Hi in Longmont and Skydive the Rockies (SDTR) in Canon City. Mile-Hi has a King Air and SDTR has a Caravan. Using Mapquest Mile-Hi is about 130 miles away and SDTR is about 160 miles away. Both are good places to jump. B Moore

So you are saying I have to choose a dropzone, that has real cheap tickets, a real fast-ass plane, or an otter, OR a combination of two or more??? Damnit, this is going to be tough. Thanks everyone for the info. There is not a shortage of dropzones that is for sure. I am not sure what we are going to have for transportation while we are there so that will factor in a bit on where we go. B Moore

A group of us are going to Warner-Robins AFB and two of us are looking to make quite a few jumps while we are down there. What DZ would be the closest? We will be there from June 6th to June 25th. Any tips would be great. Thanks. B Moore

Thanks for all the advice everybody. I moved the pad up a little on the inside of the helmet so i can see the speaker through the hole in the padding. I wasnt able to see it before when i was using it so maybe this will solve the problem. I will find out this weekend. Thanks again. Brian

I have it set on hi and the back is towards my ear. I will try look at the padding and see if there is anything i can do there. Thanks a lot everyone Brian B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'

I have a velocity open faced helmet. I have jumped it about 5 times now with my new pro-track. I have to really listen in order to hear it. If I am not listening for it cause I know it is about to go off then I dont hear it. I really thought I would be able to hear it better. I jumped my friends z-1 over the weekend with my protrack and I heard it really clear. It makes sense that I can hear it better in the z-1 but I thought I would be able to hear it better in my helmet. Anyone know of anything that I can do in order to hear my audible better?? Thanks Brian

I have had a IBM labtop for almost 2 years and it has been on almost constantly since then. Works great and travels great. Just my 2 cents. B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'

Best weather in Colorado - Skydive the Rockies
bmoore21184 replied to dmbale's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Thats interesting because I drove to Mile-Hi yesterday because the forecast i got for SDTR was bad. I had a great time at Mile-Hi, i had never been there. Great weather, great plane, and great atmosphere. The view was just as good if not better than SDTR. Now i have to choose between the two, but man i love that King Air. when did your latest skydive take place ?
bmoore21184 replied to gerryfuss's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Should of jumped this weekend but could not borrow a car to get down there!! I am traveling next weekend so cant go then, will have to wait til the weekend after that. That will make it 9 weeks since my last jump!! I think i am going to go crazy. B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch' -
I am a gymnast so I reverted back to gymnastics when doing the flips. The thing i think about is to do a front flip, bring your hands and chest into your legs. On a back flip i just think the opposite. Bring your legs to your hands. I have seen video of people using their hands to flip them over but that isnt what i do. I am not used to having air to flip me so I just do what i do in gymnastics. Of course using the air would probably be a lot smarter though B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'

I am at the Air Force Academy so I will be getting down and dirty in the real air force in 840 days! That Lt. pay will make going to the drop zone a little easier on the pocket book (or so i hope). B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'

Have you purchased a Complete Rig online (dz.com classifieds?)
bmoore21184 replied to Fireflyer's topic in Gear and Rigging
I saw the post for the used rig i bought on dropzone. Then i realized he lived on the other side of the building. So you never know you could find a rig that is right down the hall and you didnt even know it. B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch' -
How did i know this would be the place to come and find a picture of what happened. I just caught it out of the corner of my eye. Good work aggiedave. B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'
