The flag is representative of an ideal - you'd thing the flag shaggers would be more concerned about the principles behind the flag than the actual item itself, but no - the right has shown they are happy to piss all over the principles and wear the flag as underwear or a t-shirt as long as someone standing up for whats right isn't allowed to protest using it.

My best friend has been through something similar recently with his son (my godson). They have come through it and things are slowly improving, fingers crossed your relative will as well. I know you and lot of us here have lost friends to suicide. Not many worse feelings than that one. Many MANY vibes to you and yours.
