    Since I'm still new to this all, I really want to make it to a boggie soon. Since the season is dying out up here in NY, why not try to get to one over holiday break! I have a couple of questions though: I'll be in Vegas visiting my fam from Dec 21-Jan 2, how far is it from the strip area? Best way to get there? Second, since I'm still a newbie and the way it's looking I might not have a rig yet, can you rent?? (I know I'm working on it!) Third, since most of my friends are wuffos and really don't see the point of hanging at a dz and watch, best places to stay since I think I might be doing this solo?     Beer def. does wonders!!! I think that was the greatest feeling after getting off student status! I brought the typical case to the DZ and it was like they weren't my instructors anymore, but friends! We all went out afterwards and just bs'ed about the days jumps.     Hi all, Ok so I just graduated AFF 2 weeks ago and of course can't wait to get my A now. Just need a good weekend!     CONGRATS MARY!!!! That is awesome, and of course it's a big deal! Did you get to do any jumps after AFF8. I tried getting down there today, but of course the weather wasn't cooperating. I'm trying to fit it in sometime between these 2 storms (Hopefully Wed) I don't think the rain is ever going to stop! How did your other friend do? Did she finish up yet?     Def milk it as long as you can! Sponge baths are not a bad thing! I had mine done about 4 years ago. Therapy is the hardest part. Just stick with it and follow everything they say . It took me a good 4-5 months before I could do any kind of running or cutting. But I was swimming in 2 months. Your knee will be stronger now then it was before. Most important then anything - Stay postive!!!! You are gonna have some rough days ahead, but think the faster you get it over with the sooner you'll be back in the skies!!!     I'm not planning on buying right away either...due to lack of funding. Was just trying to get an over idea. Thanks so much for all the input. I really appreciate it.     So I'm getting ready to do my last jump on Sunday (AFF) and already thinking of what kind of canopy I should get. Just looking out here for any suggestions of make and style.     HI ALL.....Ok so yesterday had to be as great of as a day as my first jump. In fact I think I'm still glowing! Well I completed levels 3-5 yesterday and hope to finish by Sunday (big graduation jump). Not only was having my instructors letting go a great feeling. Ok I'll be honest, I freaked a little when I saw them in front of me. But then it was like, cool, I'm doing this on my own and not tumbling. The best part of everything though had to be I finally landed on my FEET!!!! the first 2 jumps i landed on my feet and as i was running it out i tripped and fell ( doesn't really count) And my last jump it happened. It is alot easier on your butt!!!! Again thanks for all the GREAT help...I was thinking flare 1...2...3. I can't wait till next week when I owe everyone beer!!!     I just finished my Level 2 the other day and getting ready for 3 and 4 on Monday. You would be crazy not to have that fear. Great advice I got from my instructor was its not how fast you get threw the levels, but how confident you are after each one. My first attempt at level 2 was decent, but I wanted to repeat it cause I was confident to have them let go during level 3. The second time was a blast and I can't wait to get up for the next level.     Thanks for the help....I have the knees and feet thing down, just can't get them under me. Awwh gonna give it another try on Monday for levels 3 and 4 (as long as the weather holds out).     Hi all, so I just completed my level 2 yesterday (second try),and its still to hard to put into words!! Incredible! First try at level 2 was decent, but I didn't feel comfortable to go on (kinda a perfectionist), also the fact that i flared at about 35 ft and took a nice landing on my butt. And as much cushion as you might have there...it still hurts. So I went up a second time and everything went so smooth....rt turn/lft turn....thought i was superman for a moment while i was trying to move forward and soon realized you don't go anywhere with arms and legs out. (Then again how did superman fly?????) Even though I flared at the right height and all i still seem to land on my butt (alot more gentle). Any suggestions on how to change that. Otherwise I might try to be the next charmin spokesperson and pack my butt with toilet paper.

Well I just scheduled to do my ground school and first aff jump next week. I'm so psyched. The only thing is waiting for the weather to clear up here and WAITING till next week (awhhh).     Hi all!! So I'm from Long Island and did my first tandem in Feb at skydiveLV and had to get back up and do it again. Parents just moved out there and after four days of furniture shopping I figured why not jump out of a plane. It is so addicting!!! Just did my second one back home in Jersey.
