  1. If your picture is not in the magazine, trash it.
  2. Are you serious? Skydivers are sociopaths. Admittedly most of us have some sort of moral code that includes not stealing from people, especially skydivers. If you leave your shit out over night it could get stolen.... but, it could also get sabotaged. It has happened. And what ever you do, do not leave your 16 year old daughter over night at the D Zed

    life

Hey man, I know exactly where you are at. I was in the same place when I was your age. I went ahead and quit school and became a skydiving bum. It took 6 months for me to realize that I wanted a lot more out of life, and I went back to college with a new found motivation. If I would not have followed my dream, I would not have found the motivation that I needed to finish school. You are only young once. Now is the time to do what ever stupid shit you can think of. I remember being 21. Old people used to tell me shit all the time, and I never listened. When you are 21 you are invincible. You have to learn your lessons on your own. Follow your dreams. My only other word of advice is to stay away from drugs and alcohol. They are a waste of life, and will only hinder you. From a 30 year old.
  4. 120 days is bullshit. I have extended my cycle to 1 year. There are no gremlins that climb into your reserve container and create line overs after 120 days. Pencil packing is nothing personal against my rigger. It has to do with my problem with authority. Take good care of your rig, and it will be fine. If you go swimming with it in the pond, get it repacked. When you go to get it repacked destroy the old packing data card. This is so simple.
  5. I remember when I was 5, I found one of my Dad's dirty magazines in the garage. The girl was posed on the tennis court in the bright sun shine. Sweat was beaded up all over her body. I just remember being totally absorbed in the images. My Dad was on to me within about 30 seconds, and told me that was his, and not for me. Thus began my quest to find more such images!

    Banana Bread

My ex used to make banana bread with all whole wheat flower and organic cane sugar. It was excellent. Use brummel and brown yougurt spread, or the canola margarine that you can get a trader joe's, as a guilt free spread.
  7. Nice job. It is not easy. I am coming up on a year in January.
  8. I voted for Badnarik. My vote was not wasted. Kerry was predicted to win California, and did. That is why I chose to vote for what I believe in, rather than just vote to remove Bush. If no one ever votes for any candidate outside of the two parties, how will the system ever change?
  9. I think we need to respect this man's journey into a brand new extreme sport
  10. No, it may be good manners to hold a door open for a lady, but there is no tradtion of gallantry towards other men. This behaviour is just supplicative.
  11. Guys who go out of their way to hold a door open for other guys. Don't get me wrong, I am all for giving a door an extra push as I go through as a courtesy for those who follow behind. This just happened to me on the way to the cafeteria at work. A guy is exiting the cafeteria, sees me coming up the street, so he stops and holds the door open for me. I just don't understand.
  12. Touch can be magical. I have experienced this as a massage therapist.
  13. If she had no teeth, she would have my complete trust.
  14. I like Catalina airport (AVX). http://www.airnav.com/airport/KAVX The runway is on top of a mountain at 1600 feet. Cliffs on both sides of the runway, and it has a big slope to it. If you are on the correct glide path for 22 the illusion is that you are going to smack the cliff face. Passengers really freak when you take them out there.
  15. I want to be captain of my own tuna boat, that way I could have fresh tuna sashimi every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And of course I would have the heli on deck so that I could fly around and look for more tuna. Of course the crew would be co-ed.
  16. Todai sushi sucks. Terrible, one of the 3 worst in SD. If you have to have all you can eat sushi at a huge nasty buffet, Onami is edible and is right across the freeway. I would only go there for lunch though as it is only $13. If you want all you can eat, go to a place like Saskas in Mission Beach. Even my friend who thinks Denny's has good food will not eat at Todai anymore.
  17. If you like sushi the best value is Niban on Clairmont Mesa Boulevard - awesome fish and great prices. If you want a fancy (expensive) sushi resturant check out Zen Bu in La Jolla or Cafe Japengo across from the Hyatt in UTC. Lotus Thai on 6th Avenue in Hillcrest is awesome. Great food and prices, beautiful restuarant. Saffron on India St. is a good Thai place for lunch. For an expensive steak house, Flemmings is also across from the Hyatt in UTC.
  18. Well I have always thought that the next big psychological disorder would be DZK way worse than ADD. Drop Zone Kid Syndrome. With the things that drop zone kids are exposed to, there is no way they are going to lead sane lives. I should know. Maybe this is not such a bad thing though. I just keep waiting to see a comercial on TV advertising a medication you can take if you were a DZK.

    PB&J's RULE

I lived mostly off of PB&J's for a couple months. Don't try it, it gives you bad gas. I can't eat them anymore.

    Green Tea?

I am hooked on green tea. Yama Moto Yama is the brand I like. I have tried most of the readily availble brands, and this is best. I like it straight.... but I guess you could add honey. I hate Stash tea. fancy package, crappy tea. I don't really like the Salada green tea either. You can find YamaMotoYama in the Japanese section at Albertsons, or at any Asian grocery store.

    Martial Arts?

Hey Tuna, On your BJJ site there is an article that talks about the weaknesses of BJJ and how "Combat Wrestling" addresses these weakness. I can't seem to find any Combat Wrestling schools listed. What is the deal with that? The article is here: http://bjj.org/editorials/971027-combwres/

    ROAD TRIP

Rich, Hope you have time to squeeze in a freefly jump on Saturday. Jim
  23. I don't think I know Mark. I normally fly out of Montgomery.
  24. So last night I was turning a right final for 24R at Gillespie. Flying the Decathlon. Well there is a Stearman on about a 1/2 mile final for 24L (the parallel runway). All of the sudden we here on the radio "This is an Emergency! This guy is trying to jump out of my airplane without a parachute!!!" Then a couple seconds later: "He just jumped! I tried to hold on to him and stop him but I couldn't!!!" Well, I was thinking these guys are practicing an air show comedy act. Matt in the back seat starts saying "look, look, look!" I had already seen the Stearman, so I started scanning for other traffic thinking we were about to have a mid-air collision..... but Matt watched the passenger jump out of the Stearman and go all the way in behind a house. About 600 feet of freefall, in a stand up apparently! Matt later said he thought they were joking at first too, but then he thought no pilot would ever say it was an 'emergency' if it really wasn't. We ended up going around the pattern. The next thing the Stearman guy said was, " some one needs to get the Sheriff over to my hanger, that guy's son is waiting for him there...." I was kind of pissed that I missed it. It was not like a skydiver going in, because this guy meant to.
