It could actually be more dangerous if knowledge of the delay makes drivers even less cautious about entering an intersection when they get a green light (if that's even possible.) The way I see it you have 3 groups of drivers running red lights. Speeding up for the yellow but turns red too late for them to stop safely at the line. Just turned red but choose to go anyways as they are right at the line. Been red for a few seconds when they cross the line and the next set of cars are either about to be released or have been. The delay timing really only effects the last group of drivers as any delay of more than a second or two is plenty for the other 2 groups of drivers to be through the intersection in time. Not done it at a boogie but on the way to one. My friends in the car not only watched, but one even insured I'd take the full blast by basically stomping on me. Sorta had to as I had failed to defuse it. I love my friends.

They solved 99% of the running red light issues that caused crashes years ago when they put in the pause before changing the next lights in the cycle to green. Next time at a light at night, you can easily see the pause in the lights. These days you have to extremely blatantly run a red light to even have to worry about colliding with the next released group of cars. It's all about $$$. Try losing your house I do not subscribe to the theory that if someone else lost something of greater monetary value than your loss, that you are not allowed to be bummed about it. No one is saying you can't be bummed. It's all about perspective. There's always something more or less that could have happened. Yes you lost a camera, and that sucks, but at least you didn't lose a main. I lost a main, and that sucks, but at least I didn't hurt myself and have to take a helicopter ride. And so on... Additionally on the way home from that trip after giving up the search, I had something hit my windshield in BFE South Carolina and absolutely destroy it. Spent 2 days there getting a replacement. But at least the safety glass did its job, I was unhurt, no other damage, and found a DZ.commer there to hang out with.

No. That miniscule ammount of extra gas you get just isn't worth it to me. Additionally if they have a charge limit, unless it's an amazingly cheap price, I don't bother fully filling by running my card again. It's not hard but they also need to make sense. A friend of mine lives out in the country. Just off the exit to his place, they built a huge church. Rather than put in a pressure sensitive stoplight, or just use a crossing guard as the bulk of the traffic is limited to very specific times, they put in an unlit roundabout with minimal signs. The church is the only exit too. When coming from the highway it's not too bad but when coming back at night running 55+ that damn thing has snuck up on me more than once. Luckily it has nothing in the center and a very gentle slope on the curbing so one could prolly run right over it without issue.
