    Exactly. We all have different desires and most if not all cut expenses some places for extra money for what they like most after essentials. For me it's traveling and doing stuff. I drive older vehicles, have a modest house in a safe but cheap area, jump older non gear, don't go out much, etc.

    And one could argue when one has limited funds they concentrate their effort in the areas where they can deter the most crime. It's basic triage. If you have 5 people with broken legs in the ER and then a multiple gunshot wound victim comes in, they are going to treat that person first, regardless if sex, color, income, social status, etc.

    Bill you know very well anything done to a white person in the name of equality is not racism. DD, do we just grab random white people off the street and imprison them or just increase the sentences for whites convicted of a crime? "Well, Mr. Smith, posession of marijuana in that quantity is usually a misdemeanor, but since you're white, it's now a felony with a mandatory life sentence as we need to increase the white percentages in prison."     If a company can do that by legal means, without gov't assistance, these days I say more power to them. Standard Oil, even without gov't regulations would never be as powerful today. Besides, these days, big companies really don't compete much with each other, they sorta just divide and conquer. One of the reasons we're in the situation we are with all of these big companies is the gov't has bailed them out repeatedly. They've learned they can do incredibly risky stuff to try and make more money and even if it pays off, just look like they are broke and the gov't gives them more.     A better analogy: The kid acts up, the parents looks the other way. The kid gets in trouble, the parents bail them out again and again. The kid learns there is no negative consequence to their actions so they do more and more dangerous and wrong things. The parents keep cleaning it up.     Don't agree, those people had other options than the investments they made. There are no guarantees. Also unless the money is in stock in a company that goes bankrupt or people sell what stocks/funds they had when the market is down, the money isn't really "lost."
