    While I'll be the first to admit insurance companies are greedy, the mish mosh of complicated and sometimes conflicting regulations that vary by locality is probably the biggest barrier to standardization and efficiency which could allow lower prices. This, tort reform, EMTLA reform, turning ERs back into actual Emergency Rooms and many other things desperately needed to help cut costs are not the main focus of HC bill. They're too busy mandating what has to be done, but not providing assistance in the how. Same sort of attitudes as the mortgage regulations and requirements.     And if that woman were to travel by herself, depending on the makeup of the different towns she may have people make her feel uncomfortable too. Substitute any race, gender, or orientation you wish and if they are the minority they may feel uncomfortable. As long as all the laws are enforced for everyone equally, that's pretty much all a gov't can do. You can't legislate out prejudice itself, just unlawful behaviors.     Technology allows far fewer to do far more with far less and impact more, particularly in the global economy. Even if percentages of people doing a particular behavior may be fairly constant, their impact can be far greater now.     Didn't happen from the founding of the country until 1964, and green was the favored color in those days too. There is NO reason to believe human nature has changed, as we see just from posts on this forum. The general greed is nowhere near what it is now. People who built up and ran businesses were far less likely to risk destroying them just to gain additional short term market share.     Not needed anymore. The only color most businesses care about is green anyways. Should a business choose to exclude a group of people for any superficial reason, they would likely be publicly shunned or boycotted anyways. The biggest issue with civil rights in this day and age is it leads to quotas and the like. Equality is treating everyone the same.     I don't think one can say never in this or any circumstance. No one knows what the future may hold. Situations change constantly. Even those at the end that are too injured or sick to still jump usually get once last one.

    Vailid point. Suicide is generally considered a selfish act, independent of religion. The reward for the athiest could just be ending it all. Still not as convincing an argument as someone who believes in some sort of life after death though.     I'll say that. it's the law. enforce it, or remove it. If citizens don't like a law, there's an established legal procedure to get a law removed. Agree, but just want to add equal enforcement for all. Part of the process of making a law should also be the intent and detemining how it will be able to be enforced.     What I said: Meaning it could be a selfish act for theists. Hopefully if someone is willing to die for a cause it's because they believe in it that deeply versus just thinking they will receive some afterlife reward.
