I personally haven't seen the movie but I had a 65 GTO, Canary Yellow w/black vinyl top, 389 c.i. & factory 3 duece setup with a Muncie 4 speed. Nice ride and quick for it's time. Mine was a '69, black with red/orange stripes...302, 4 speed and "nasty as they come". TripleF I've still got the Polar Bear, altho he's for sale due to health problems but I've replaced him with a 2006 Charger R/T, Inferno Red Crystal Pearl, 5.7L Hemi and the "new" slap-stick 5 speed. Lol...no rain on my parade today...lol. This machine is put together right. I'm not familar with good guys or hot august nights and haven't really tried e-bay. I've heard some bad stuff about e-bay and being the puter illiterate that I am, I'm a little leary of that site. Any other ideas?? I'd kinda appreciate any help I can get. Well, after reading all this nonsense about dinky little cars running so great, I've decided that I'll jump in...lol. I can be found most weekends at the Carolina Dragway in Jackson, SC. Just look for the Polar Bear, walk up, introduce yourself and lay your money down....and ya' might do it soon cause the Bear is up for sale due to health problems. Well, let's see.....once as I had just sat down to a nice meal of lasaunga a commercial came on for "feminine pads with wings"...now, when I go to an Italian resturant, I picture small red bats flying around the room flapping their wings...yuck..... Hon, you didn't have to do this...but as long as you already did - I guess I'll tell the story. The third week in October I stopped breathing. My friends got me to the hospital, and the VA, in all their wisdom, stabilized me and sent me home. It happened again the next night. This time I was lifeflighted to the Montgomery Va. They kept me till the day before Thanksgiving and sent me home with more med's than I could carry. My jumping career is over now, along with every thing I've become used to. I have to stay on oxygen for at least 12 hours a day, carry a portable oxygen bottle with me every where I go, take breathing treatments 4 times a day and use an inhaler so often my lips seem glued to the damn mouthpiece. It seems that I've been handed a sentence from on high, telling me that all those years ago in Nam finally got me. The diaoxine (did I spell that right?) we used to defoliate the jungle finally nailed me and the amount of damage to my lungs is too great to heal. I'm too old, according to the VA, for a lung transplant, as those things are reserved for younger veterans and with no insurance to pay for it, I can't use a regular hospital. So be it...we all have to pay for the things that we do in this life, sooner or later. I've sold my rigs, given away almost everything that I owned in the way of jumping gear and altho I'm not giving up on life, I'm having to change everything I've ever known about life. Hell, I even wrote a will...lol. The one thing I will never give up is the Polar Bear. I asked my best friend if he would dig a huge hole in my backyard, sit me in the driver's seat, push the Bear into the hole and bury me, lol...he said "Yeah, but I gotta promise not to drive it through his living room on cold dark nights, like a phantom ghost", lol. So, I'm all taken care of, lol. Ya'll have fun, remember me once in a while and be careful in the air. I don't think I'll be posting here any more cause it's for skydivers and I'm not one anymore but if it's ok, I'll cruise the forums and read a lot. The move was horrible. I didn't know that I owned so much "stuff"...lol. Over 200 boxes of "stuff" and I'm still unpacking but at least I found the cookies. The guys that helped me pack got into them so I only have 4 boxes of cookies left and guess where they are going....lol. Come Monday, I'm headed for the post office to mail them.
