Hiking in Glacier National Park (Lost Prairie related)
vdschoor replied to vdschoor's topic in The Bonfire
Let GFD sleep in your camera helmet. The top blew off when I looked out of the door of the skyvan in Davis. With all the wildlife out there I wouldn't let her sleep in my helmet without the cover. Iwan -
WTF would they need one of those for? Because condoms are too small to land with

Deuce.. can I use your truck next weekend.. ah come on.. come on..

I jump mine with the Sigma 15, but like you said, it's all what you are used to. Instead of aperture priority I shoot in shutter priority (Tv) The reason for this is that in low light conditions the camera might pick a really slow shutterspeed which makes for blurry pics.. instead by setting the shutterspeed the camera will just adjust the aperture setting. I don't shoot autofocus in freefall, it slows the camera down, specially with slower lenses (slower as in autofocus is slower). The only reason I would shoot autofocus in freefall would be if I would take a longer lens up (a 50mm or longer) for special shots. Other than that, nice pics!! Iwan

Do You Know The EXACT # Of Jumps You Have?
vdschoor replied to Kramer's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I had a question about that, do you log after each jump, which rig you jumped? I roughly know how many jumps I have on each of my rigs, but not exactly, and would like to hear a couple of tricks that you use.. I don't see you logging during the day so I was just wondering. Iwan -

It's going to be tight with all three of us sleeping in your car but I guess it'll do.... Hmm.. I guess you're feeling better already huh? Yeah, I tried it last night, but only my tent fits in my car, so I guess you have to sleep in mine, or setup your own, but it has to be outside -
Hiking in Glacier National Park (Lost Prairie related)

Thanks Shell.. We're going into the park with just a car, we're camping in there so the vehicle length is not an issue for us. We checked out the site, but it's always good to get recommendations from people that have been there Iwan -
Hiking in Glacier National Park (Lost Prairie related)
vdschoor replied to vdschoor's topic in The Bonfire
Hi there, I am planning on going hiking with Geno in Glacier park (during the LP boogie), do any of you have any hints or tips on what trails to go on to to get in fights with bears or goats or whatever? haha.. just kidding, we are after a nice hike with stuff to see and more importantly.. stuff to take pictures of. Also recommendations for campgrounds would be nice!! Iwan -
I use my digital rebel just like my film camera. If those settings work for you on your normal SLR, use them on your Digital Rebel as well, I don't use any of the automatic settings for freefall stuff. Iwan

It was a lot of fun, thanks to MadJohn (jdobleman) to organize another succesfull event. Winners: Open class: Brian Genereux Novice: Craig Lichtle "fat boyz": Iwan van der Schoor I took some pictures of the winners and I will post them later, i don't have the complete stats on the competition, maybe we'll get lucky and MadJohn will post them. Thanks everyone that competed and let's do this more often... Come get your track on in the Byron skies. Do I hear tracking contest at the Byron Boogie? Iwan

I agree with most of the people here, don't show the "bad part" of the skydive. This weekend I filmed a tandem where the passenger got sick on the ground.. I walked away and filmed his wife landing instead of him puking his guts out. It's just no fun and it doesn't belong on the video. Afterwards he asked me if I did get it, and was kind of disappointed.. but I'm sure he'll be happy it's not on there when he shows his buddies. Show the bright side of it all, specially if someone gets hurt.. try to get that out of the video that goes home with the customer.

0:19:0 A very nice weekend with a couple of tandem videos and a whole bunch of fun jumps.

Mark used to, he jumps Canon now, at least the latest setup I saw of him was Canon. The 10D with the 550ex.

I have a small album of pictures of her, but she hasn't given me the opportunity to open up a bid on it. Start bidding everyone, as soon as Lany says ok that's enough, they will go online.

Kiss Passed? - OR - Lets make this Kiss Pass Weekend!
vdschoor replied to turtlespeed's topic in The Bonfire
I represented!! Did three kisspasses this Sunday, unfortunately I am still a kiss pass virgin, I've never been kiss passed by someone else.. It's very hard to kiss you with that gigantic helmet of yours... I kiss passed a virgin on Saturday so I reached my quota for the weekend. Bwaaa.. like that's the only reason you refuse to kisspass me.. I was wearing a regular helmet.. I am going helmetless next time, no more excuses
