    you may have to try some other DZs. have you considered going somewhere big like Perris or Zhills or Eloy to do it? They may have more "options" for heavier people. You might have to go away for a week or so, but hell, what a way to spend a vacation, eh? And, you would get to jump your ass off!

    yeah, i have found a place that seems pretty reasonable, and it is a lot of space for your stuff. check it out HERE. you can register your name and do it all with them. I am looking for some sources for skydiving related animated gifs, flash stuff, etc. I know I can cut and paste them off of other skydiving sites I have only found that stuff that is on HH's old dz.com site. Other than that, I have just seen a clipart here and there from different sites but not a big place with tons of it. -------------- Brandon Wren

    Johnny....I was on a Raider 220 throughout my student progression and then during a recent boogie, I went from that to a Safire 189 to demo. It wasn't a TON faster, but it was and you have to "flare" later so that you dont stall the canopy. I thought that it was really not a big problem. After 7 jumps or so so on the 189, I demoed the 169 for 4 jumps and that was a LOT faster. I have 37 jumps right now and have ordered the 169. I load the 169 around 1.35:1 and I think that it is good for me. So, depending on your weight, you can decide. But, I dont think that going right to the 189 would be a bad decision. But, you have to go with what makes you comfortable.

    Hell, I saw that one on TV. I wonder how he kept his rating after doing something like that. Especially when there are people like you who know that he does that on an ongoing basis. It's not like he threw early once and it happened to be on tape, right?? Oh well. Hopefully now, when I refer people to tandems, I'll know how that person is as a TM. I know that my tandem master at SGC (Brian "Treeboy") was a GREAT guy and a GREAT tandem master. He was really helpful and told me a lot of stuff and let me do stuff like steer and help flair and all that good stuff. My wife's Frederick was excellent as well from what she told me. Either way, I hope that this sport continues to be and stay safe. -------------- Brandon Wren
