My day so far, up at 06.30 got to let the animals out, find the puppys tucking into a turkey a turkey that they are ment to be guarding, Two chickens missing, see the puppys mother crossing the field with a chicken in her mouth ALIVE . somthing stopped me from shooting her on the spot, It was her head up tail wagging and her cantering gait , She came straight to me and dropped the chicken at my feet, not a mark on the chicken. No time to investigate till latter as the pig lorry arrived with a delivery of 500 pigletts unload lorry, shower breakfast then start cooking for the restaurant. Days only half way done. Gone fishing

Nice photo, Care to share some details, like camera, lens, speed, F stop, iso. I tried to take photos of lightning but my camera dosen't have a cable release, so even when mounted on a tripod I get a little vibration when releasing the shutter. Gone fishing

Funny you should say that, the SUV is a renault. My last SUV was a Pontiac apart from a crappy cheap looking interior the mechanics and anciliaries were bullet proof, nearly to the point of being over engineered. I could send off to the States for spares and in under 72 hrs they would be at my door I really miss my Trans Sport. Gone fishing

They are in Northern Spain (Catalunya) The mother is a mongrel who I rescued as a puppy from a SOB The father is a neighbours mountain dog that escaped for a bit of nooky before I could have her (mine)spayed. Gone fishing

Can you buy used? Yes I could go to the scrapyard spend about four hours getting the cable out another four hours fitting it and having no guarantee that it's not going to snap a week latter, What pisses me off is the fact that I have a 25 year old series Land Rover and can buy just the piece that has broken and not be ripped off. PB Blast. To the OP: Do you have an auto parts store near you? Usually you can get individual parts that you need without having to buy the entire assembly. There's a reason they call it the "stealership". The cable has to come from the original manafacturer, I've beentold they have the patent on the type of cable used. The cable in the housing has to work in both directions (push pull) so any type of cable can't be used, also the cable has to be to the milimeter as the housing has no adjustment. Basically they have us by the short and curlys. See photos. Gone fishing

The wifes melons got off to a good start , heathy growth, loverly flower buds started to form,we spent hours tenderly nurturing the small fruit as it started to grow, then from nowhere arrived a cold snap, the fruit just stagnated, would'nt grow and reach it's final form. At last the cold snap passed and her melons just took off, thier was no stopping them. Now at lass the season is over and they are just hanging on the vine, so ripe I'm afraid to touch them in case they explode. On the bright side my toms and marrow have weatherd well Gone fishing

Tomorrow I'll have more time and look into seeing if it's viable to reuse the the cable ends. I have some stainless steel braided cable that is about the same size. the cable is crimped in a steel tube that I'll have to drill out in the lathe, one problem is I don't have a Hydraulic crimper. This morning, Started the car drove off went to change to second and the gear stick went all floppy, a cable link snapped, after muttering few expletives I jacked up the car and started to remove the cable which was no easy task, drop the exhaust as the cat heat shield blocked access to the nuts holding the gear stick housing, fabricate a tool to remove a circlip that was nearly impossible to access, four hours latter I have the cable in my hand. Phoned the dealer to order a new one and he asked If I had a plastic or leather gear knob, whats that got to do with it I said I need the cable, I'm shure you do he said, with a cash register jingle tone of voice, you can't buy just the cable you have to buy the complete assembly gear stick and knob included, a steal at just €350.00 + taxes A less than 5 euro cable jacked up to 350 + Gone fishing

One day a couple of my kids left food on thier plate so I told them if they did'nt eat it I'd give it to the cat as I was'nt about to chuck out good food, their reply was give it to the cat then. The next day I hid the cat and put a whole roast rabbit on the dinner table and told them I wanted to see clean plates or I'll give whats left over to the dog. Never had a problem since. I brought the cat out of hiding the next day. Gone fishing

410 and subs just kidding. How about making cardboard cut outs of natural preditors, painted in realistic colours and hanging them in the entrance to the bays, being cardboard it would'nt damage the ambulance when it leaves. Or as another option I've had sucsess with is hanging old cd's/dvd's the birds don't seem to like the shiny reflective surface,also they would'nt damage the ambulance on the way out. Gone fishing
