Jim Perry had that airplane at Skydance in Davis, CA for a while. Awesome ride. It was at WFFC in '93 as well. I jumped it at both places. I am one of the people in the plane when it pops up on the '93 WFFC video for a few seconds. He also had a Helio Courier with an Allison 420 on it. I saw him do a "helicopter" takeoff into a 10kt wind. The gound roll was about 15', then the plane levitated, hanging on the prop. At about 15' or so, he pushed the nose over to get a bit more airspeed (or flew out of ground effect), the climb rate went up in a big hurry, and away he went. One of the best STOL takeoffs I have ever witnessed. WAY COOL.

Dealer dorks are a drag. I am glad that it worked out for you. Stock 4runners are great rides. Aftermarket parts can improve an already great ride. Better shocks. Better springs. Trans cooler. Lift kits. Suspension upgrades. Diff lockers. Sliders. Skid plates. Winches. Bumpers. Marlin Crawler parts. etc, etc. Lots of cool stuff to add to the first three iterations of the 4runner. Not so much for the 4th gen. The FJ Cruiser was in the works and the aftermarket folks knew about it. I am building up a '94 4runner with a 3.4 conversion, 2" lift, 33x10.5 tires, Sonoran Steel IFS Truss, Bilstiens, and sliders. Rear differential locker, skid plates and other suspension mods to follow. I like to play in the dirt, or on the sand. Not wicked wheeling. Just playing around some and going places that ordinary rides can't. Back country camping is way better than camp ground camping. Again, nice 4runner. She should be a great ride for a long time. As long as you take care of her, she'll take care of you. Enjoy, when you are allowed to drive her.

Nice 4runner. There aren't a lot of aftermarket parts available here in the USA for that vintage 4runner. What there are come out of Australia. yotatech.com ultimateyota.com pirate4x4.com are good sources of info on maintenance and upgrades. Treat her good and you'll get 250k miles out of her, easy. Enjoy.

You have been corrected on the "Clinton fired 93 Prosecutors" BS on a few occasions. Once again, please research US attorneys and how they are nominated and confirmed. (Except for the sneaky shit the rescumlicans slipped into the Anti-Patriot act, allowing this whole mess to occur.) As has been pointed out before, when the party in president's office changes (that would be when the Dems take over from the rescums, or the rescums take over from the Dems) the US attorneys are normally replaced by the new administration. Until the sneaky shit the rescums pulled, nominees for US Attorney had to be confirmed by Congress. In other words, quit parroting the rescummy talking point about "Clinton did it first". You are wrong on so many levels that it is laughable. What Gonzo, Rove, and the children did was WAY BEYOND anything that Clinton/Reno did. Comparing the two could be considered a prime example of abject ignorance.

The Medicare program is a STELLAR example of what you say doesn't happen. If the Democrats manage to pass a national health care system, it will be modeled on Medicare, and rightly so. The rescumlicans will fight tooth and nail against this. Private, for profit organizations are always better run than any government entity, according to the rescumlicans. As proof to the contrary, take a look at the Lockheed Martin takeover of the Flight Service Stations. Worse service, higher costs, and major issues with the safety of flight. A private company took over a government function. According to the users of the system, it has been a DISASTER. According to the rescumlicans, it has been wildly successful. The MSM makes fat money from the for-profit medical industry, so you aren't going to see much useful info there. They whip out the "socialized medicine" bogeyman and the ignorant masses get all lathered up. Modern western societies provide a basic level of health care for their population. The USA is very backward in that regard. The brilliant ones among us are fine with forty percent (thats 40%) of the health care dollars being spent on administrative overhead. The current for profit health care system in the USA is seriously broken.

Yes, if something like a baggage hold compartment popped open under enormous G-stress and dumped it's contents in mid-air. Isn't it amazing how such a simple explanation can destroy such a beautiful conspiracy theory? Feel free to make up conspiracy theories every time something happens which you don't understand. There was a baggage compartment door found in the secondary debris field? Where does that information show up? Were parts from the cabin floor found there as well? If not, how could human remains be in the secondary debris field?

TWA Flight 800 went down due to an in flight explosion of the center fuel tank. The explosion seperated the nose section from the rest of the airframe. AAL 232 was a DC10 that experienced uncontained failure of the engine in the tail. In flight explosion? pretty close. It pretty much shot itself down with shrapnel. Go see Al Haynes's presentation on this one. I did. Very impressive. JAL Flight 123 went down due to structural blowout of the pressure vessel. The failure was due to substandard repairs. The blowout blew the vertical stabilizer off the plane. The pilots tried to maintain control and did so for a while, then lost it. An in flight explosion? Almost. AAL 587 - The official story is that the pilot overstressed the airframe by vigorously operating the rudder in response to wake turbulence. The end result was structural failure. The vertical stabilizer and rudder fell off, causing the crash. Each of these events produced debris fields far from the final impact site. I should have written "In this case, I believe that it is NOT possible for that to happen." I'll go edit the original post. Nice catch, Bill.

Where did any report say there was nothing in between? Are you NTSB? My theory? I'm not the one coming up with this BS. And you can feel free to believe what every twit with a computer puts up a video on You Tube as the truth. They never conclude anything. All they do is ask questions with so many open ends it would take hours to comment on them. Like when they said the plane landed in CLE. They said 200 people got off the United. Really? So you mean to tell me they have kept 200 people silent this entire time and nobody has gone to the press? Not even somebody with the airline? Ground Personal? You just go on believing that United 93 got shot down. I need a good laugh reading peoples theory on how it all happened. You appear to have a problem with reading comprehension. Please go back and read my posts again. If you need to, take some notes. A short recap here - I never watched the video on Youtube. That means that I have no idea as to what the content is, other than what you have written. I have not in any way defended the content of the video or any of the conclusions that may have been presented in it. Your conclusions like "So you mean to tell me they have kept 200 people silent this entire time and nobody has gone to the press?" are wildly inaccurate. The posted news report makes no mention of a six mile debris field that stretches downwind from the impact site. If that was the case, the report would say so. It does mention a debris field that was almost six miles from the impact site. This secondary debris field matches other news reports that came out at the time. An inconvenient truth, but the truth, regardless of how you feel. None of the other news reports said anything about a six mile long field of debris, either. There were two seperate debris fields. On the basis of what you wrote, I must conclude that you believe that it is true that books, clothing, and human remains could travel almost six miles from the impact site, while nothing landed in the area between. In this case, I believe that it is NOT possible for that to happen. It appears that we have different opinions as to how the facts can be explained. I am not going to change my mind, just from reading your repetition of the official story. If you care to research the wind direction and speeds in the Shanksville area that day, including the uppers, and post that data here, go for it. That might alter my thinking a bit.

As usual, Shrub is a hypocritical scumbag... From sfgate.com - begin quoted text Taxpayers pick up Bush's bill Democratic lawmakers in Washington say they're drafting a health care reform bill that would expand coverage for low-income kids. President Bush says he'll veto any such legislation, warning that it would lead the nation "down the path to government-run health care for every American." Like that would be a bad thing. What's particularly galling about Bush's position is that it's coming from a man who just underwent a colonoscopy performed at the taxpayer-funded, state-of-the-art medical facility at Camp David by an elite team of doctors from the taxpayer-funded National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. If anyone understands the benefits of government-run health care, it's the president. But let's not get sidetracked. Bush wasn't being entirely accurate when he derided the notion of government-run health care for every American. That might make for a fine little sound bite, especially among those who fear the specter of "socialized medicine," but it's not really what's at stake. Rather, advocates of health care reform are seeking government-run insurance for every American, leaving the health care part to those who know best - doctors and nurses. This is a crucial distinction at a time when 47 million Americans lack medical coverage and, according to researchers at Harvard University, about a third of the $2 trillion spent annually on health care in this country is squandered on bureaucratic overhead. "Cuba is socialized medicine," observed Dr. Kevin Grumbach, who heads the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UCSF. "The government employs all the physicians and owns all the hospitals. That's not what anyone is talking about for this country." Rather, the focus here is on two indisputable facts: that the United States spends about twice as much per person on health care as most other industrialized democracies, and that Americans on average do not live as long as people in countries that guarantee medical coverage to their citizens. "Why have all other countries figured out a way to do this?" Grumbach asked. "Why are we the only ones that are so uncivilized?" The United States spent an average of $6,102 per person on health care in 2004 (the latest year for which figures are available), according to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. Canada spent $3,165 per person, France $3,159, Australia $3,120 and Britain a mere $2,508. Life expectancy in the United States was lower than in each of these other countries and infant mortality was higher. Looking at the numbers another way, the Kaiser Family Foundation determined earlier this year that health care spending accounts for 15.2 percent of the U.S. economy. By contrast, health care spending represents 9.9 percent of Canada's gross domestic product, 10.4 percent of France's, 9.2 percent of Australia's and just 7.8 percent of Britain's. And again, the citizens of these countries on average live longer than we do. In Washington, Democratic lawmakers are crafting legislation to expand the State Children's Health Insurance Program, which subsidizes insurance for low-income kids. The Senate Finance Committee last week approved a five-year plan to increase funding for the program through a 61-cents-per-pack increase in the federal cigarette tax. This would maintain coverage for 6.6 million recipients while adding 3.2 million uninsured kids to the system. Bush told an audience in Nashville last week that the Senate bill is "the beginning salvo of the encroachment of the federal government on the health care system." He said he'd veto any such legislation making its way to his desk. That's a fine how-do-you-do for a guy who had five growths removed from his colon on Saturday largely at the government's expense and had them promptly examined by government experts at the government-run National Naval Medical Center. Happily, the tests showed no sign of cancer. So Bush can rest easy for another few years, thanks to all that government health care. No one at the White House could be reached to discuss how much the president paid out of his own pocket for the colonoscopy and subsequent testing. Presidents typically have their own health insurance, although the first-class treatment they receive is largely defrayed by taxpayer funds. In other words, they're prime beneficiaries of government-run health care - just like in Cuba. In a paper found on the Web site of the Defense Department's Armed Forces Institute of Pathology ( www.afip.org ), former White House physician George Fuller outlines the mission of the taxpayer-funded White House Medical Unit. He writes that a primary purpose of the group is to provide "confidential, immediate and private access to preventive, routine and urgent care for the principals." This, Fuller adds, "is a 24-hour, seven-days-a-week commitment with no exceptions." The quality of health care is so exacting, he observes, "that the president cannot even ride an elevator in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building without a physician escort." According to Fuller, the president enjoys the benefits of medical and dental clinics in the White House, as well as "a fully equipped and supplied outpatient clinic" at Camp David, where Bush's colon was explored. He says the White House Medical Unit also "keeps a unique and extensive library of medical facilities throughout the world" to provide for the president's health care needs during overseas travel. All in all, Bush is the last person with a right to complain about government-run health care for every American. We should all be so lucky.

Really? I heard a report on the news the day it happened that a corporate jet ran into WTC. They got that detail wrong. Then NBC I remember reported that a helicopter had crashed at the Pentagon because he was seeing smoke. Little did he know what was really going on. The fact is when a plane crashes take everything you hear with a grain of salt. The news gets a lot of details wrong. Who told the news reporter this? The Air Force? Where is the pilot who pulled the trigger? They kept him quiet? HMMMM, the big explosion and mushroom cloud over the crash sight wouldnt carry pieces of paper and some debris away from the crater impact zone? Back to the OP, that video said they landed in CLE. So which is it? Did they get blown out of the sky or land at CLE? You cannot have it both ways. I didn't watch the video link in the start of the thread. I don't think that the airplane landed anywhere. The majority of the wreckage ended up in the crater. Part of the wreckage ended up almost six miles away. I don't know exactly what happened. Neither do you. I agree that the news often gets things wrong. Did you click through on the link to the local paper? To save you the trouble, I'll repost the key portion of the report here - Begin quoted text >>> Finding the flight data recorder had been the focus of investigators as they widened their search area today following the discoveries of more debris, including what appeared to be human remains, miles from the point of impact at a reclaimed coal mine. Residents and workers at businesses outside Shanksville, Somerset County, reported discovering clothing, books, papers and what appeared to be human remains. Some residents said they collected bags-full of items to be turned over to investigators. Others reported what appeared to be crash debris floating in Indian Lake, nearly six miles from the immediate crash scene. Workers at Indian Lake Marina said that they saw a cloud of confetti-like debris descend on the lake and nearby farms minutes after hearing the explosion that signaled the crash at 10:06 a.m. Tuesday.

If the system was downloading child porn, go to the cops. Failure to speak up makes you a co-conspirator. You know that it was happening, you know that it is illegal, and you did a good job of figuring out who was responsible. As it was YOUR username doing the downloading, it might be hard to explain to the cops why you didn't report it when you found out about it. You absolutely don't have "plausible deniability" any more. You are just as responsible as the wanker downloading the porn and could go to jail with him. Will you be able to live with yourself if the individual actually acts out some of the things in the porn? Would you want that done to your sister/brother or son/daughter? And know that you might have prevented it? If any of your "friends" decide that you did something wrong, they aren't really friends. You would be better off without such people in your life. Do the right thing. It is likely the hardest choice. But it is the right thing.

I watched the TV all day on 9/11. I was flipping between channels on DirecTV. I didn't have a Tivo at the time. I wish I did. I would have recorded what I was seeing and hearing. I heard one news report that an airliner had been shot down after failing to comply with fighters that had intercepted it. It was a detailed report. Not a one or two line throwaway. I heard the report once. I didn't make of note of the channel as I was surfing all over to many channels. No other reports ever turned up that I am aware of. According to the official version of the crash of flight 93, the passengers tried to take back the airplane and failed. During the struggle the airplane was forced to crash by the hijackers. When the news reports came out about the scattered debris and remains, it was clear to me that some kind of a major disconnect was occuring. A coverup? At the time, I didn't think it was possible. At this point, I wouldn't put anything past the Rescumlicans and ShrubCo. The fact remains that I heard a news report about an intercept and that the interceptors shot down the airplane when it didn't comply. The scattered debris and remains are clear proof that the official story doesn't match up with the physical evidence. There is no way that debis and remains would have ended up SIX MILES from the crater, unless catastrophic damage had occurred well prior to impact. I don't know exactly what happened. I don't expect the facts to come out until long after most of us are dead and gone, if ever. I do know that what I heard broadcast matches the physical evidence, unlike the official story. One of the creepiest parts of the TV broadcasts was the jumpers from the buildings. The spanish channel at 400 in DTV had gruesome and graphic footage of the jumpers. They were zooming in on them. I saw what HAD to be a skydiver track away from the building, go into the boxman position, then barrel roll onto their back and stay stable, looking at the sky, until they disappeared behind the buildings in the foreground of the picture. No whuffo could fly like that. This is very hard to type... I don't know who they were and I never tried to find out. It hit me hard then and it is hard to think about now.

reply]When someone pushes himself to the forefront as the world's most enlightened person concerning environment, then he must walk the walk at all times, or shut the hell up. I am so happy that you have come up your own rules for how people should act and be. How do you plan to enforce these new rules? Pitching a fit in an online forum? Do you plan to try to enforce these new rules about hypocrisy against Rescumlicans, too? How about you start with the prostitute patronizing family values guy, Vitter. The one whose wife said that Hillary should have taken a rusty knife to Bill? He totally violated all of his marriage vows and committed serial crimes in the process of patronizing whorehouses. He should resign, shouldn't he? He clearly isn't fit for office when what he says is so far from what he does. Yes or no. Resign or carry on. What say you? He clearly is a complete and total hypocrite. As he is a Republican, I expect that you and your kind will give him a pass. After all, he didn't hurt anyone, it was consenting adults, and he resolved the issue with his wife, right? So he must be OK. Kind of like Bill and Hillary, eh? Total situational ethics, Rescumlican style. There is no standard of behaviour that applies to all. The standards are MUCH higher for Democrats than Republicans. At least Al Gore has the ability to generate discussion on important matters of the day. Agree or disagree, the issues have to be addressed. The Rescumlicans certainly won't say a thing about issues of this kind. It would be bad for business, and might cost money to fix. And we can't have that...

Specific examples please? Well, the Supreme Court ruled several of his actions unconstitutional with respect to military tribunals, and also the initial imprisonment of Padilla. Then there's warrantless wiretapping. That's trivial stuff done by Republicans. You don't expect righties to hold their guys to the same standards as they hold Democrats to, do you? They don't have the moral foundation to comprehend the issues. As long as its a righty doing it, anything goes, constitutional or not. It is a "quaint" document, after all. If a Democrat gets a blow job from a consenting adult, thats a big deal. When a Democrat is President and starts to use the powers that ShrubCo has claimed for the Presidency, watch the righties flip out. It would be funny if it weren't so sick and twisted. Conservatives have been against every progressive change that has taken place in the USA. If the conservatives had had their way, blacks would still be segregated, inter-racial marriage would still be illegal, women would not have the right to vote, and Chinese people would still be prevented from becoming naturalized citizens. All of these positions are well established positions that those that considered themselves "conservatives" supported to the bitter end. I am not talking Democrat/Republican. I am talking conservative/progressive. Big difference. History keeps proving the conservatives to consistently be wrong, in the long term.

Can you please explain how you could make a connection between "lack of political correctness" and being a convicted serial perjurer? What Bill Clinton has shown is that he is completely unqualified to be a public official of any kind whatsoever. To condone Clinton's actions shows utter contempt for the USA, the Constitution, and the rule of law. To even consider voting for a douchebag like Clinton is pretty pathetic, even for righties. Perjury is a high crime against our system of law. To condone perjury in any way is completely against everything that America stands for. Have you no shame? No sense of right and wrong? The USA is in a world of hurt because the lefties have been fucking things up since LBJ was in office. The war on the middle class has been wildly successful. The Democratss are very proud of their success. I could do the same thing for just about any politician. Should I use Hillary Clinton next? McCain? Romney? Feinstein? Ted Kennedy is too easy. This is a fine example of the invention of "facts" and the distortion of truth by righties. Nice recitation of the approved talking points. Bill Clinton was tried on one count of perjury in a Republican controlled House of Representives. He was NOT convicted in the Senate. Libby was tried and convicted in a court of law - multiple counts, four, IIRC. The prosecutor was appointed by Shrub himself. The judge was appointed by Shrub himself. Libby lied repeatedly during the course of an investigation into treason. It is very likely that lots of people died due to the outing of Valerie Plame. It certainly blew up the front company Brewster Jennings. Blowing up Brewster Jennings cost the government tens of millions of dollars and dozens of other blown agents that had used Brewster Jennings as their cover. Plame was involved in nuclear non-proliferation, as in, preventing countries like Iran from getting atomic weapons. Good thing she isn't doing that anymore, isn't it? Good thing we lost all those other covert agents, isn't it? Clinton lied about a sexual encounter with a consenting adult. He should have known better. The sexual encounter didn't cause any harm to anyone until the rabid righties went crazy about it. If one is to to exercise moral relativity, most people can tell which perjury was worse than the other. Shub has so much to hide that he commuted the sentence so that Libby wouldn't talk. He couldn't pardon Libby as that would remove his 5th amendment protections. It would be rather inconvenient for ShrubCo if the truth were to come out. That is why they are doing everything they can to cover up and make sure that no one tells the truth. The Contract on America started with Reagan and really caught fire in 1994. The results will be with us for generations. The righties are very proud of themselves. Much like Neville Chamberlain was in the thirties.
-
Can you please explain how you could make a connection between "lack of political correctness" and being in favor of pardoning a convicted serial perjurer? What Fred Thompson has shown is that he is completely unqualified to be a public official of any kind whatsoever. Libby was tried, convicted and sentenced in accordance with the laws of the land. To condone pardoning Libby shows utter contempt for the USA, the Constitution, and the rule of law. To even consider voting for a douchebag like Thompson is pretty pathetic, even for righties. Perjury is a high crime against our system of law. To condone perjury in any way is completely against everything that America stands for. Have you no shame? No sense of right and wrong? The USA is in a world of hurt because the righties have been fucking things up since Reagan was elected. The war on the middle class has been wildly successful. The Republicans are very proud of their success.

No, there is no left-wing bias in the media. This thread is hella funny. The righties are rather dim... Who cares what causes the journalists donate to? How does that make a difference? What survey like this exists for the EDITORS? How about the OWNERS of the publications? In other words, who cares what the factory workers think? What matters is the managers and owners of the factory decide. The workers don't matter at all. The owners and editors have control over the content of the publications. Not the journalists. What a pathetic argument. Pretty much what I expect from the sheeple.

A cheap bilge pump from wallyworld or kmart will do the job. 12v and the plumbing parts are cheap. You should be able to fab up the whole thing for under $50.00. You might want to calculate the highest you'll ever have to pump the water from the stream/lake up to the tank inlet. Make sure you buy a pump that can lift that high.

The cameraman was in the front of a twin beech, behind the pilot. It was late on a hot summer day. The vidiot had done a fair number of jumps filming tandems, before the last one. He was using a helmet mounted camera with a chest mounted recorder, AKA, the old style setup. He climbed out past the tandem master, who was busy with the student. He did a good job on the freefall part of the tandem video, but not the landing... A very sad story. This led to several months of us doing rig checks on the vidiots. This consisted of asking the vidiots "You got your rig on?".

Why would the truth be funny? Anyone with the ability to basic internet research and the common sense to avoid the fringe elements can discover truth. It isn't that hard. You should try it sometime.

We'll see as the story develops as to what the actual facts are. The right wing controlled mass media is a lapdog to the rescumlicans. I don't buy the presented bullshit for one moment. I'll bet that the Republican Speakers of the House that preceeded Pelosi did exactly as she is trying to do now. They are pitching a bitch to make her look bad. It is all about power, and the perception of power. She can't back down because the rescumlicans win. The morons fall for it, just like they did with the "I WANT MY PLANE!!!" bullshit. Anyone with a slight grasp of basic civics knows that the SOH is second in line for the Presidency, after the VP, and as such, gets a much higher level of security than your basic House member. Non-stop flight is safer and faster than having to stop for fuel. Your biggest risk in flight is in the airport area = smart folks do nonstops. The security concerns were why the decison was made BY OTHERS about what type of plane would be provided to the SOH. In other words, the rescumlican spin was presented as fact by outlets such as Lush Rimjob and Faux news, and the sheeple bought it, hook line and sinker.

Missing from the original post is “It has been longstanding policy that, in the absence of a congressional spouse, the adult child of a member of Congress may accompany the member on official U.S. government travel abroad for protocol reasons and without reimbursing the U.S. Treasury,” In other words, it seems that it is OK for a Republican member of the house to exercise a long standing policy. It is an egregious abuse of power if a Democrat tries to exercise the same policy. rescumlicans at work here again. If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit. resumlicans have this down to an art.

reply] Nice post, Amazon. It explains a lot about your more vitriolic posts. I mean that as a compliment.

Democrats politicize hurricane emergency broadcasts.

Lush Rimjob, the drug addicted hypocrite, is definitely in the category of "extremist shock jock". Lush spews boatloads of bullshit, slamming everything he perceives as "liberal". Of course, when he needed the help of the fine "liberal" organization, the ACLU, he gladly accepted their assistance. Lush is a well documented liar who has had a lot of influence on the ignorant white trash that listens to his show. In many ways Lush is the embodiment of all of the evilness that represents the modern "conservative" movement. It is pretty weird that Goldwater would be considered a far leftie by what passes as conservatism these days. -
Seventy five instances of Perjury. He didn't testify in his own defense. Neither did his boss, Dick. The evidence is overwhelming. Send him to jail. Why haven't any of the people who testified under oath that Plame was covert been charged with perjury? How do you explain that? Gonzo runs a good clean operation, right? We can trust the justice department, can't we?
