I was called twice to jury duty. The first time I was one of the free dismissals by the defense (a murder trial). The second was a civil case. I served for about 6 days. My job didn't pay me. That part sucked, but I actually enjoyed the experience on some levels. It was interesting to have done it. And, I think it is our civil duty... the judge also told people that financial hardship wasn't an excuse. I'm not superstitous... I just did my 13th jump and it went well... ok the landing sucked . But, I say it's Friday, a beautiful day in So Cal, so if you can get out and jump, why not? Good luck on your AFF. I'm just a newbie too, having completed my AFF recently. I say concentrate on your AFF and then your license and worry about buying gear later. Try out lots of different rigs first, then talk with the instructors or other jumpers when it's time to buy. Thanks for posting that link. I was watching the game and halftime show, but had actually turned away when this happened! Looking at this picture makes me think this was an accident.
