  1. Lots of chicken. And not the KF kind. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  2. Uggh, the last Sonic I went to... I think it was in Lake Wales... it was so depressing of an experience that they couldn't lure me back with a free drink. Fast food restaurants in general are depressing places, the KFC on I-Drive that Ashley and I went to the other day was the worst ever. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  3. CRICKY www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  4. Derek, I love you too. There is no file called hosts without an extension. There is hosts.ics, and there is nothing inside of it except comments. I can guarantee you the problem is not in the router. As I've said, I can get into the router using Firefox, OR using IE on my Vista partition... but not IE on the XP install on this machine. So it's something to do with IE specifically. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  5. Still don't know how to check my hosts file (although I now have the path to it) nor do I know how to check proxy settings (or what they are). I ran spyware checkers and am ok. I also ran Hijackthis, but I have no idea how to interpret these logs. There are several BHO's but they sound ok (see below). I also successfully used IE7.0 on my alternate O/S (Vista) to log into the router. So it is something specific to IE and my XP installation. 6. All security settings at default in IE. Even with Windows firewall off, still can't access router from IE. But I can, of course from Firefox. So the problem is now academic, since I have a way of getting into the router. But it still pisses me off. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  7. My number is 111 (or 1111). I see it all the time and chose this name for myself years ago. Last November at the Keys Boogie I knew I had just done my 666th jump so I pulled it up in my Neptune to show somebody. Lo and behold, the date was 11/10, and the jump (666) had been made at 11:11am. 11/10 11:11 #666 www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  8. Well shit, your mention of "BHO's" made me think to try it in Firefox (which I thought for sure I had done before). And lo and behold, it WORKS in Firefox. So have we narrowed it down to IE somehow? I also tried it in IE6 (I have a hacked standalone version I use for web design) and it doesn't work there either... so it seems to be IE in general. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  9. Where and what is hosts file? I have ports 1234, 4321, and 2538 reserved for P2P apps which require them. But I don't know if that's what you mean by "connected". I also scan with AVG daily so would hope no spyware slipped through. Guess I haven't run AdAware in a while though... will try that. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  10. I will try that, but I am pretty sure the problem is with the PC and not the router. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  11. My default gateway is 192.168.0.1. And 192.168.1.1 does not work either. Next idea? www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  12. I have an old Netgear router, the "RT314". When I need to log into it for port forwarding, I go to http://192.168.0.1 with my browser. Right now one of the two PC's on my network will not do that. It comes up as an invalid webpage. Both PC's are using XP and IE7.0, and on the one that doesn't work I just get the generic IE "webpage cannot be found" error. It worked for a long time before now, and I've never seen this before... any ideas what has changed? The computer in question does still have access to the internet and the network. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  13. Must be the dreadlocks, right? www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  14. What about the guy washing his camera? www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  15. If you don't want a quick release, all you need is a screw. And you don't need Bonehead or Cookie for that... just go to the hardware store! The choice is yours, "everybody uses quick releases" is not true. I do though. The problem in my mind with a standard mount is that you have to go inside the helmet (under the liner) to access the screw. I don't want to have to do this. The quick release systems on the market are secure enough, but they add bulk and weight. I'll be copying Wes Rich's "quick-release" (if you want to call it that), made out of carbon fiber and much smaller and lighter than anything off the shelf, it requires only a thumbscrew (externally mounted) to add and remove the camera. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  16. This is a bit silly, but does anybody know where to buy single MiniDV tape cases? I'm talking about the clear case that COMES with a tape. Say you lose that and want to replace it. The equivalent of a jewel case, for a CD, basically. I've been looking and can't seem to find these anywhere. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  17. Nice to know Chuck! That is really cool. Now I can buy an orange roll and you won't know when I'm stealing from yours. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  18. What gives Scott, you have a new helmet and a 5D, and all the pictures you post are of people on the ground? Where's the flocking shots?! www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  19. Those are EXACTLY the same two things I use. I used DVD Shrink 100's of times with no problem, when I finally did run into a disc it couldn't handle, I used DVD Fab. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  20. In most "free" countries, there are many limits on what an adult can do with his own body. Not only are we prohibited from putting certain things in, we are also prohibited from taking others out! www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  21. Thanks Perry and everybody who showed up. I'll put some pictures up soon. (Of the skydives, you fuckers) www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  22. It worked fine for me, Brian. I viewed it with VLC. Didn't try Quicktime. Nice job!
  23. After calling people sheep, you then state that your own opinion is correct because the people you fly with (and dropzones you go to) say it's ok. Do you see the irony there? Rather than say "so-and-so says it's ok" (which is a bit sheepish), try using logic to explain why it's ok. Or, use logic to reply to the hypothetical question (which SO many have raised in this thread): what if you or the tandem has a premature deployment? www.WingsuitPhotos.com
