What are you looking for when you buy a wingsuit?
The111 replied to bodypilot1's topic in Wing Suit Flying
My S3 is coming in any day now but I will keep my GTI forever (and use it when it is the best choice). One day in the distant future I will have a collection of 20 wingsuits to hang on my wall and show the grandkids. I'll point at the S3 and V1 and say, "people used to think these were good!" www.WingsuitPhotos.com -
I think someone wrote that Robert pulled higher than normal because he had flown so far he was starting to fly uphill at the other end... so perhaps if he had had an unlimited supply of flat ground to continue flying over he would have had both duration AND distance... www.WingsuitPhotos.com

You already know I do if you still want to wait around for 3 hours. :) Guess you didn't get that rental car... www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Now this is a fun/frustrating/addictive game!

Hmm... I intentionally keep Flash 6 installed most of the time but in some cases I have to install Flash 7... guess this is one of them. www.WingsuitPhotos.com -

Yeh, that's no fun. But since I aspire to do WS BASE one day, I wonder... does this same thing happen in a BASE deployment (full flight)? It would seem to be even worse since the deployment is fast, but the videos I've seen don't look *too* bad, at least not any worse than the skydiving "pendulums" I've seen and experienced... www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Hopefully this is the right forum... I was debating between this one and G&R. I have Paralog for my Neptune. I had imported about 30 jumps into it using the Neptune. I had to reformat my hard drive so I saved all the csv files. I reinstalled Paralog, deleted all those "fake" jumps it has logged when freshly installed, then tried to import my csv files and it just locks up. Anyone else have any success/failure with this? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I'm pretty sure that aerodynamically, that is false. Although since heavy bodies and light bodies are usually different shapes, they will fly differently. But if two people were exactly the same shape (height/"thickness") but different weights (different "densities" for argument's sake), they would fly the same glide ratios. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Damn that is an annoying website. What are the units on the height you gave? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Is that on any videos you can buy? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Frederick from Sweden showed me a cool thing he made... he put a shackle type connecter (same as RSL) on his bungie so he can disconnect and reconnect quickly. But I agree... wear a rig that fits. :) www.WingsuitPhotos.com

You know I'll be there. :) I agree that long days with nice weather is good. But I can make just about anything, as long as it's on a weekend. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

If you have the luxury of living near a handful of DZ's like me... then go to a different one. :) Agreed. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I haven't got any signatures since like my 50th jump, not counting when I jump with someone cool and want their name to remember them by (like Loic the other day).

I did trim my cables when I first got the suit and rounded the ends of the plastic coating. But the one still managed to wear a hole through the keeper as my picture shows, and the other ones are starting to do the same. No big deal though. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Thanks for the info Chuck... if I did not already have tickets for Eloy I would probably be doing the Z-hills thing too, for different reasons. Would be much easier too since it's so close to home. Anyway... do you (or anyone else) know if there will be someone doing WS organizing @ Eloy? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Who's gonna be there? One of my main reasons for going is I assume I will have more largish flocking opportunities than if I stayed local. Somebody tell me I'm right.

I asked this in a different thread and was told you would still be able to if you want.... www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Yeh, I was showing a whuffo friend a picture from the bigway this weekend and he immediately pointed at Loic and commented on how wide his leg wing was compared to everyone else (in S3's). I wondered then why no BM-style suit has a leg wing that wide. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
