  1. I agree with him. It's pretty unlikely that every Afghani or foreign fighter in Afghanistan was a woman beater don't you think? This is a typical example of where the enemy gets demonized just to make it easier on the concience of those that are there killing them. Both sided of this silly war on terror are equally guilty of this shit.
  2. What is the relevance of the "'A well regulated Militia" part of the Second Amendment in todays America?
  3. Thats what i think too. So does that make US military action against Iran a 'when' rather than an 'if'?
  4. So the US administrations duplicity is the UNs fault? I thought it might be.
  5. Is there any evidence that it served the greater good? (maybe if the sanctions had been more effective SH might have behaved differently.)
  6. Oh come on. Its blindingly obvious that Bush and Blair picked the bits of data that suited their agenda and spun them into something much bigger and much more concrete than was acually there. Analysts from within the intelligence agencies on both sides of the Atlantic have confirmed that is what took place. What makes you think you know better?
  7. Why do debates in this forum so often come down to splitting hairs about words used? Fact is, if the story is true, Bush (and Clinton before him) have been presiding over a government that has preached one thing whilst doing another. Bush didn't create the issue, but since when does that mean he isn't responsible for it continuing whilst he is POTUS? This revelation is made even more damming when you consider the venom with which the Bush camp has been smearing the UN in recent times. Doesn't it bother you when you find out the people you trust to run your country are bullshitting you?
  8. Let me just repeat the bit that you obviously didn't read before penning that response:
  9. ... Is anyone left in any doubt that Bush and his pals are a corrupt bunch of two-faced wankers?
  10. And thank you for starting such an entertaining thread - over 200 replies, you must be pleased.
  11. My God man. And to think for a while I actually made the effort to read and understand your posts...
  12. A possibly dumb question, but isn't the point of AA simply to level an unlevel playing field? If that is the case, and if there is an unlevel playing field to begin with, why is it a problem? Here in the UK we have rules on how many disabled people companies must employ. The rules are there to cope with the fact that some people would choose an able bodied person for a role rather than a disabled person, even if both were equally capable of doing it. Isn't AA the same kind of thing?
  13. That is not quite how it went down is it? You need to re-check the timeline. The US was going to invade no matter what the UN said. That was made clear well before Colin Powels embarrassing presentation. UN support was a 'nice to have' only at that point in time. (I feel sorry for the guy. He seems decent enough and didn't deserve to be stitched up like that.) [edited for spolling]
  14. He was invaded because he had WMD and was capable of delivering them, was actively engaged in manufacturing WMD and had mobile WMD labs and all kinds of other stuff. We all watched Colin Powels presentation, didn't we? Since then, your own weapons inspectors have concluded that he didn't have WMD and was not capable of delivering them. They concluded he was not actively engaged in manufacturing them. The stuff Colin Powel told to the UN was almost entirely wrong. Sure he's got some old shit from long ago buried in the desert. But that does not, and never did, make him an immediate threat to the USA or his neighbours. Which makes the reason given for the invasion wrong. Period. As your own experts have told us. You are just clutching at straws to suggest that a few barrels of 10 years-past-its-sell-by-date anthrax buried somewhere in Iraq is a justification for the invasion.
  15. Lighten up man, they were only having a laugh. Like you said, Branches of the service have always taken cracks at each other and I'm sure nothing is going to change. There really is no need to turn this into a pissing competition.
  16. I don't believe that statistic for one second. Where have you got it from, and what sort of guns is it referring to?
  17. To quote my dad: "Thought thought his feet were hanging out the end of the bed, so he got out to have a look."
  18. Regardless of what words they use, it's a fucking outrage that it has taken them this long to acheive absolutely nothing. The UN could should have used this issue to prove that it isn't useless WRT conflicts, but it has failed to do so in a manner that can best be described as craptacular.
  19. They're not as bad as the traffic wardens. Those vultures regularly ticket ambulances parked on yellow lines outside the hospital where my wife gave birth. (if several emergencies show up at A&E/ER at once the ambulancese have nowhere else to park).
  20. I doubt very much that God will be blessing America if he's heard about this little nugget: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/file_on_4/4216853.stm Makes the UN look like rank amateurs...
  21. It could have been made legal by any flavour of government. I bet they don't want to make prostitution exempt from their social security scheme because they'd have have to deal with people to turning down all kinds of other jobs on moral grounds.
  22. A turnout at 60% kind of implies the Iraqi people disagree with you on this one. In terms of turnout and the low number of deaths and injuries on the day, this election was a resounding success. The only fly in the ointment might be the very low Sunni turnout if early figures are to be believed. Hopefully the solidarity generated by the knowledge that so many fellow Iraqis voted will increase resolve within Iraq to stop the insurgancy, making for a swifter exit for the coallition forces. (edited to shange Shia to Sunni)
  23. it's what you get if you make prostitution legal.
